Chapter 71: The Fight
Emily's Pov
I stood at the entrance of the door watching as Mason was dragged by his girlfriend. “Why isn't he doing anything?”
“I guess he has his reasons, you don't need to worry about that.” Vivian said.
I sighed. “She's just controlling him, who does that, I feel he's too weak.”
“Nah, I don't think so, he's just stuck there.” Vivian said.
“Stuck?” I asked.
“Yeah, Tiffany has something on him, she's with him because she wants to gain popularity in school and Mason is scared about what she might do if he leaves her.” Vivian said.
“Really? There's another way he can gain popularity through music. Why must it be with her?” I also sing well. I wrote a lot of songs which I've not published yet. I'm waiting for the right time to do so.
“I know it's not easy for him, no one can tell what he's actually going through. Vivian said.
Tiffany and Mason disappeared from the crowd and I can't believe that a charming guy like Mason was trapped in a relationship like that.
“I just wish she could let him be.” I said.
Vivian raised her eyebrow skeptically. “Why are you so worried about him?”
I sighed, I don't know why I was feeling bad for him, I knew I was interested in him but I couldn't just admit it. I wasn't going to admit my feelings even to Vivian. I pushed the thought aside as the music he sang echoed in my mind.
“Hey, let's go get dinner.” Vivian said.
“I guess we should, I'm really hungry.” I said, yarning. We walked to the cafeteria, we were seriously starving. We waited at the table to serve after we ordered our food. We saw Mason with his gang of friends coming into the cafeteria. I could hear his laugh in the background, I tried not to look towards his direction. “He's he coming towards here?” I asked Vivian, bending my head.
We got our food. While we were eating, Vivian was talking about her new crush. I was smiling while listening to her, she had thought my mind was there but my mind kept drifting back to Mason.
I had stopped eating as I stared at Mason, he noticed I was looking at him, I quickly turned my face when his eyes were fixed with mine. “Is he coming in this direction?” I asked Vivian quietly.
“Nah, he's just looking in your direction.” she said.
My heart skipped, I wondered why he was still staring at me. My skin pickled with awareness, I could feel his fixed gaze on me.
I tried to concentrate on the food I was eating and when I looked at him again this time his friends were also gazing at me.
It was as if Mason stood up to come and meet me but Tiffany walked in. “Hey babe, I think we should get going, the party is starting soon.” she said, pecking him on his cheeks. Mason's eyes were still fixed on me. Tiffany wondered who he was staring at like that but when she turned I had already turned my face elsewhere.
Vivian kept laughing. “You're just so funny.” She said,
I was surprised, I had thought when Tiffany walks in Mason will stop staring but I was wrong. Vivian's loud laugh had brought me to reality. “And what is so funny, why the look on your face?” I asked.
“How is the look on my face?” Vivian said.
I just waved my hands on her as I stood up to leave, Vivian ran following me. “Hey wait for me, do you know when you were leaving he was still looking at you, this time Tiffany caught him looking at you.”
“That's what I wanted, she's just so full of herself jeez.” I said. “I can't stand her.”
Vivian told me to turn to my left, looking there, I was surprised to see Tiffany coming towards us with her group of friends. “Hey lady.” She said, pointing at me.
I pretended I didn't hear her. She grabbed my hair, dragging it. I couldn't take it, so I dragged her hair and pulled it. I didn't know she barbed her hair, she was putting on a wig. The school was filled with chaos as they came to watch what was going on while some were making a video. Tiffany quickly picked the wig, and she wore it back. with the look on her face it was as if she was going to punch me. “I'm not here to exchange words with you, all I want right now is for you to leave my man alone, why was he staring at you like that?” She said,
“Oh wow, the same man you are fighting for is in there enjoying himself, aren't you ashamed of yourself, it's not my fault that he was staring at me, you should go and tell him to stop instead of doing this.” I said.
“It seems you are new here, you have no idea who I am, I will teach you a lesson, I'm the queen bee of this school, nobody messes with me and goes freely.” She said,
“And do you think I'm scared of you?” I said. “I don't care about your treat or anything, how is it my problem if Mason stares at me. You need to know I don't care about your status in this school. You should go and meet Mason and tell him to stop looking at me instead of bullying me and I have my eyes. I can admire him if I want.” I said, standing my ground.
“You can get expelled.” Vivian whispered to me in my ears.
I smiled. I knew that was not going to happen. Tiffany slapped me and the crowd were already laughing. I knew I couldn't be humiliated like that.
I slapped Tiffany back, she held her cheeks and was surprised I did that. “How dare you slap me?”
“Oh it hurts, I didn't know it did. You also slapped me.” I said.
Tiffany's friends surrounded me, I guess they planned on beating me up. This was my favorite part.
“Oh wow, this is interesting, you guys want to beat me up?” I asked. “Are you sure about that?” I said, cracking my knuckles.
Vivian wanted to defend me but I told her I got this.
Her friend trew blow at me but I was fast enough to dodge the blow, I hit them, kicking some to the floor. They were all stumbling back. Everyone was shocked.
“Why don't you fight me, you think because you beat them up you can do the same to me?” She said,
I laughed. “Please, I don't want to break your arms.”
“Let's see whose arms are going to break here.” Tiffany said, boiling with anger. The crowd loved what was happening, they changed and cheered, waiting to see who was going to lose. We blew each other. It was as if she was winning but I couldn't let that happen. I dragged her hair and punched her on her stomach. She fell on the floor, holding her stomach. I knew it hurt, I didn't want to hit her there but she pushed me to do so.
