Chapter 89: Lied to Save
Davis Pov
I was relieved that Marcus didn't harm Olivia.
“It's funny how you lied to Marcus that you captured his mother.” Olivia said, laughing.
“I know right, that was all we could think of to save you.” I said.
Olivia smiled. Everyone was really happy to see her back safe. My mom and dad hugged her tightly, welcoming her back. “Next time you should tell any of us where you are going.” My mom said,
“I'm sorry I didn't do that, I didn't think about that so I just left not knowing I was walking into a trap.” Olivia said.
I held her hands, smiling at her. “Enough of this, you both can go to the room.” Emily said.
“What? Shut up.” I said, laughing.
“Yes Dad, you should just take her to the room and welcome her home properly.” Emily said,
“Alright, if that's what you want me to do I will do just that.” I said.
So I led Olivia to the room. As soon as we got into the room, I closed the door behind me. Olivia turned to look at me. “Why that look?” I asked.
“Well, I'm trying to process all that happened. It's so strange Marcus could go this far just because he loves me, yet he was willing to hurt me.” Olivia said,
“I know how you feel but there's no need to worry about that for now, we shouldn't let what happens ruin the preparation for our marriage.” I said,
“But what about Lisa? Are you sure you have nothing to do with her anymore?” Olivia asked, obviously jealous.
I smiled. “Just tell me you're jealous.”
“Jealous? For what? Well I was just asking.” Olivia said,
“Don't you think you should rest a little.” I said, pecking her on her cheeks.
“I'm not tired, I just want to forget all that happened, stop treating me this way, I'm fine.” She said, rolling her eyes.
“I have to treat you this way, you don't have to blame me.” I said.
Olivia nodded.
“Hope you heard what mom and dad said, you should make sure you inform one person at least if you're going out.” I said.
“I heard that clearly, i didn't know it was a trap, what got me more worried was the fact he lied my brother was in danger.” Olivia spat, angrily.
I got a call. “Sorry sir, we were not able to catch him, he was too fast, he jumped into a river so we were not able to get him.” The police officer said,
“Who was that?“ Olivia asked after I ended the call.
“Well, that was the officers, they were not able to catch Marcus. I'm so disappointed.” O said angrily.
“You can't blame them, he was too fast and is it necessary to arrest him?” Olivia asked.
I don't know what was wrong with Olivia. Does she expect me to let Marcus go so he could harm her again?
“He won't do that again, don't bother arresting him.” Olivia said.
I stared at her for a while, it's surprising Olivia still feels that way for Marcus. I couldn't blame her, Marcus was her close friend, they were also colleagues and she couldn't just watch him get hurt. She had a soft heart unlike Marcus who was ready to kill her just because he doesn't want to see her with any other man. Now I was scared of what was going to happen next.
I got up from the bed, O was angry this time around. “Olivia, I understand how you feel about Marcus, but don't you think he deserves to pay for what he did, I won't let anyone who mess with you go scout free.”
“Just let him be this last time, I feel he won't do that again.” Olivia said, pleading.
“Just stop it, what is wrong with you? Why will you say such a thing huh? I will get him arrested and he will regret doing this. I was so worried and restless wondering what must have happened to you but here you are telling me to let Marcus be. How do you expect me to do that? He will pay for what he did and nobody will rescue him this time.” I spat angrily, because I was still trying to understand why Olivia would say a thing like that.
I paced back and forth in the room, I wasn't sure I was going to do as Olivia wanted.
“Come on Sweetheart, let's just let him be.” She said, again. That statement got me angry and I almost yelled at her but I held myself.
I sat down on the bed. “I can do whatever you ask me, you know that, but you see this, I won't do as you want in this particular situation, Marcus must go to jail.”
“No, you won't do that.” Olivia said,
“Please just let me do what I know is best to be done.” I said,
Olivia got up from the bed, she held me round my waist. Olivia held my waist, I think it's best he goes to jail, you're right. we can't let him ruin this moment.”
I was glad we were on the same page. “That's good, now we need to make sure the police get him.”
Olivia nodded. Wrapping her hands around my wrist.
“We will be married soon, I can't wait for us to start making babies.” I said.
Olivia raised her eyebrow. “And who told you I'm ready to make babies?”
I smiled. “Of course, I know you are, don't you want Emily to have a brother?”
“And who told you I will give birth to a boy child even if I get pregnant?” She asked, raising her eyebrow.
My hands were still wrapped on her waist. “I feel it's gonna be a boy.”
“Just shut up, I'm not even pregnant yet, here we are arguing about getting a baby.” Olivia said.
I rolled my eyes. “That's because I know it's coming soon.”
Olivia just kept laughing. “You're funny.”
I was about to kiss her when we heard a knock on the door. It was Emily. “Hey, why are you smiling? Have you been eavesdropping?”
“Well, so you will know, I want a sister not a brother.” Emily said,
“She was eavesdropping,” Olivia said, laughing.
Emily smiled. “I was only passing by.”
“Well I have a lot of things to ask you mom, when you get a proper rest, then we can talk.” Emily said,
“Why don't you just say it now?” I asked.
“That's because it's not something I want to discuss with you.” Emily say,
I rolled my eyes, touching my beard. “Oh,now you both now gossip at my back huh?”
“Dad, we should both go out and let her rest.” Emily said,
“You told me to bring her in with me now you want me to leave her here all by herself.” I said, refusing to leave.
“Do you want him here mom?” Emily asked.
“Not anymore, you can go.” Olivia said, laughing out loud.
“Oh really, you both are now ganging up against me, right?” I said.
“Just let her be for now.” Emily said, dragging me out of the room.
