Chapter 36: Lisa's Secre

Olivia's Pov

“What was that?” I said, jumping from my bed after hearing a sound from downstairs.
Maria had slept in my room that night, she said she was bored staying alone.

“It might just be the house settling,” Maria said. We were becoming close to each other but I wasn't convinced I knew what I heard, it was a sound from a door opening.

“Let me check it out.” I said, throwing my blanket to the other end of the bed.

“Be careful, okay?” Maria said, yawning.

I made my way down, to my surprise it was Lisa, I hid so she wouldn't see me. She was making a call though I have no idea who the person is.

“Why are you still after this guy, you should let him be, he's my fianceé now.” Lisa muttered.

I couldn't hear the voice at the other end of the phone but I knew she was talking to Vincent.

My heart raced as I stood there, I knew Lisa wasn't a good person, she will never change.

“I'll get what you want but don't kill him, but as for the Olivia who you said crossed you, I give you full support to bring her down.” She said with a low tone.

I rushed back to my room. “What is wrong, why the rush?” Maria asked. “Tell me, what happened? Did you see anyone?”

I hesitated before speaking, “I met Lisa downstairs and you should have heard what she was saying over the phone with Vincent.”

“Vincent? Is this a joke? What is her connection with him?” Maria asked.

“I don't know but it seems she's working with Vincent, that was the only thing I came up with.” I said.


Maria was shocked. “How are we to disclose this to Davis? He won't listen to us.”

My heart was still racing with what I had heard. “I think I know where to start from. I'll call my brother to get me the records of Lisa's conversation, we can start from here.”

“Your brother works at a phone company?” Maria asked.

“Yeah, he's good at hacking devices.” I said, smiling.

“But I hope she didn't know you were eavesdropping?” Maria asked.

“Nah,she doesn't know.” I said.

“It's good she didn't, because she can do anything to silence you if possible


I took my phone from my bed, I dialed my brother's number, explaining everything to him. I made sure Davis won't find out that I'm digging anything. They all see me as a maid not an FBI.

“But I'm still concerned about her connection with Vincent when she's Davis' fianceé.” Maria said, in a low tone.

“We'll find out soon, as soon as I saw her, I suspected that but I couldn't just conclude but here I am with my evidence now.” I said

We never knew Lisa had been eavesdropping in our conversation. The door was not locked properly so she cracked inside.

“What do you know? And you should tell me the truth, did you know anything?” Lisa asked.


“And what are you doing here eavesdropping on our conversation, don't you have better things to do?” I asked.

“Just leave, we need to have some rest.” Maria warned with a firm voice.

“Oh wow, these two, nobody has the audacity to talk to me the way they want, Davis must hear this.” Lisa said, turning to leave.

I laughed. “Then he'll also know about the call you left your room to take.”

“Can you just shut up,” Lisa said, rolling her eyes.

“And why will I shut-up when I've just discovered one shocking and interesting thing about you.” I hissed. “Please leave my room,”

“You'll regret this Olivia.” She said,

“I can't regret it, as you can see I'm not that shy girl you knew in school all those years. I'm grown now nothing compared to you, there was no change as soon as I saw you after all these years.” I said.

“What exactly do you know about Vincent?” Lisa asked.

I smirked. “Who doesn't know about him in this house huh? But it seems some people know him more than we do. I know he's more than a friend to you.”

“How dare you say that huh?” Lisa said, as she took a step closer to me.

I smiled, my heart racing with excitement. “There's no need for denying, I have evidence Lisa, I'm sure you don't want Davis to find out about this, do you?”

Lisa will always be the proud one. I could see the fear in her eyes but she pretended it's nothing. “Vincent anf I were once lovers and he only called because he wants me back.”

That was a lie no doubt, I listened attentively to their conversation and i knew that wasn't it.

“You guys dated? That's cute, I never knew you did date anenemy to Davis, the one threatening to take his life.” I said.

“You talk too much, sometimes I try to believe you're not the Olivia I knew, what exactly are you insinuating?” Lisa said.

I smiled, “You know what I'm insinuating dear and I'm willing to find more.”

“I see, you want to chase me out of this house so you can have Davis, but you're mistaken, he loves me too much to leave me for a nanny.” Lisa said, angrily.

“Let's wait and see if I'm just a nanny the way you think I am.” I was ready to find out how deep Lisa is connected to Vincent.

I thought Lisa was going to lunge at me, but it looked like something snapped inside her and she tlran out of the room.

“This conversation should have waited till tomorrow, I can't sleep now” Maria said.

I smiled, “you wanted to stay in my room so be ready for things like this.”

“But why are you so worried about finding out what everyone is up to in this house?” Maria asked.

“Because I love Emily and if her father get hurt, she will also. I need to protect her father.”

Maria sighed. “I was actually expecting to hear more than that.”
