Chapter 62: Goodbye

Olivia's Pov

I left for home, Emily had bid me goodbye. It was nice to see her happy.
As I drove into my house, Caleb and the prosecutor, Edward, were standing at the door entrance waiting for me.

“You found something?” They asked.

I handed the memory card to them, they fixed it on the computer as they played it, their expression after watching that was the same way I felt. I signed heavily, it was really a long day. “Edward, will you be staying over today so we can work at night?” I asked.

“Why will he? I'm here with you, we can work together.” Caleb said.

“Come on, you've been working all day, Edward here was paid for this so let him work. Moreover this isn't your profession.” I said.

“But I'm happy doing it.” He said.

“You have a lot on your mind already, you have wedding preparations just focus on that for now, soon you will still be leaving me.” I said.

“Seems someone is missing me already, My bad, I made you feel that way.” Caleb said.

I raised my eyebrow. He didn't lie about me missing me but the plan wasn't to stay together forever, he has his own aim and plan for life while I have to work toward mine.

“But still, he's not staying here, he can come back tomorrow so we can continue the investigation together, just let me do this with you, this is the little way I can help you before I get married.” Caleb said.

But I knew Caleb was stressed so I didn't listen to him. “Well, Caleb, I think you should go to your room and rest, that's what I want for you now, just go have some rest.”

“Alright, I've heard you, I'll leave both professionals, but don't think I won't help tomorrow, I will be awake to help. And you,” he said pointing at Edward. “Don't dare do anything to my sister or else.”

“Caleb just go.” I said.

Caleb refused to leave. “He won't like what I will do to him if he messes with you.”

“Jeez, you talk too much.” Edward said.

Caleb heard him well but he wanted Edward to repeat the statement he just made. “What did you say?”

“I say you talk too much.” He repeated.

I laughed, it was fun watching the both of them acting that way.

“Okay kids that's enough.” I said. After saying that, they all turned to look at me.

“Don't address me as a kid.” Edward said.

“Then who are you?” I asked.

“Let me just say I'm the one who's going to crack this case and it's better you don't underestimate my authority.” Edward said.

Caleb starred at Edward. “What are you saying, you just arrived today and you think you have authority. I've been the one helping her. Where did you get this person from Sis?”

“This is my Job so let me do it, I will stay.” Edward spat.

Caleb sighed. “Come on Olivia, I hate this guy, there's no way he's sleeping over here.”

“He's not just sleeping over Caleb, he's staying to work, we need to work on this investigation as fast as we can.” I said.

“Then I will be staying with you also.” Caleb said.

I sighed. “Nah, this job is based on professionals and you were only helping out because I didn't have anyone to assist me, we have a prosecutor now please let him do his job.”

“Then it's better I leave your house tomorrow.” He said.

I smiled. “Why are you acting lonely like you have nothing to do with your time, you have a fianceé you should have time for her, give her more attention.”

“And who told you I'm not giving her the attention she needs. Fine, I will just watch a show while you guys work.” Caleb said, sitting comfortably on the couch.” Caleb said, starring at Edward.

Caleb's phone was close to me. He didn't know he has a call from Annie. She had called several time and he didn't pick up. “Hey, it seems you have a problem here.” I said, looking as alot of messages bummed in.


“And what problem are you taking about.” He asked, as I handed him his phone.

“Jeez, I'm in trouble.” He shouted.

“You have a lot to explain then, so I think you should excuse us.” I said.

“You can't just tell me to leave because of this guy.” Caleb said, while he dialed Annie's number.

“Who are you with,Are you cheating on me? You didn't pick up my call, that's strange.” Annie said, I could hear her voice over the phone.

With the look on Caleb's face he was looking for a lie to tell. “You can't talk again, you have things to do yet you want to do what doesn't concern you.”

“Hey babe, I was…” he wasn't able to finish the statement as Annie cut him shut.

Edward was already laughing. “Hey, stop that.” I said. “And as for you Caleb talk to Annie and clear things up with her.”

“Come on, you know me better than this. I was with Olivia, you know I moved here recently, I haven't spend more time with her.” Caleb said.

“Why are you always helping her huh? Anytime I call you are always with her meanwhile you don't creat time to spend with me.” Annie complained.

Caleb rolled his eyes, he was already tired of her complains. “She's my sister and there's nothing wrong spending time with her.”

“I'm coming there now, send me the address.” Annie said

“There's no way you can come here.” Caleb shouted.

I hit him on his head. “Dont shout at her. I hate it when guys shout at a lady.”

“Okay fine, you can come over, I will send you the address.” Caleb said to Annie.

“There's no way she's staying here, I just have two rooms in this house, my guess will be staying in the room you stay this night and I will be staying in mine so I don't know where you and your woman will be staying. So I will advise you go to your house for today.”

“Really? Are you sending me away because of this guy,this guy ad sleep in the couch.” Calebsaid, shouting.

“You have to go, I told you to give her the attention she needs,I can't tell you not to see her.” I said.

The doorbell rang and therom fell in silence. I got to the door, opened it, and to my surprise Annie was standing tall.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” I asked.

“Where is Caleb?” She asked, ignoring my question.

“Well, I have a guest so you guys have to go to his place.” I said.

“What's my business with your guest, I have to see Caleb now.” She said.

My eyes widened with shock, I didn't know she acts that way. “Well there he is.”

As Annie walked in, she met Caleb. She gave him a slap.

“Hey lady, you don't hit my brother like that. Are you okay?” I shouted at her, I didn't react when she talked to me rudely but what made me upset was the guts she had to hit my brother Infront of me.
