Friday, August 30th Pt. 3
He shakes his head again. I’m now close enough to him that I can see his body visibly shaking. He also has bruises and swelling along the left side of his ribs.
“I’m sorry to force it on you but I need you to accept my touch. I promise I’m not going to purposely hurt you. I can see your left side is bruised. Are you hurt anywhere else?”
“Please don’t touch me.”
He shakes his head as he speaks before dropping it down in submission.
“I understand that you’re afraid. I am very sorry but I can’t honor your request. I promise I’m a gentle alpha.”
I try to reassure him as I close the gap, placing my hands on his waist as his constant pulling to get away has left him nearly hanging by his arms.
“Follow my pressure. I need you to step back.”
He takes the two steps needed to get himself back on flat feet.
“How do you know me?”
His voice wavers with nervousness as if he’s uncertain he’s even allowed to ask.
“I have been working very closely with Alpha Demetri. The conversation between him and Dr. Deven Leroux gave him some clues about what you may need. As much as he wants you back he understands that returning immediately may not be in your best interest.”
I answer calmly as I run my fingertips lightly upon every aspect of his unclothed skin. His heavy flinching and pulling away from my touch make it difficult to tell where any additional injuries are.
“Is my touch causing you pain?” I finally ask.
“No sir. I don’t like it.”
There’s a slight whine to his voice as I stop and step back in front of him.
“I’m sorry.”
A loud crash followed by multiple loud voices shouting commands startles Cole into a full panic. I’m forced to step back as he violently fights his restraints, yelping and screaming as the silver shackles rub against his skin. I wait until I have a moment of calm to move in. His fight stops suddenly as the deep wheezing of his asthma sets in. He’s still, panting hard as I move. I don’t give him the room to fight as I wrap my arms around him but that doesn’t keep him from trying.
His yelps and screams are now deafening due to his close proximity to my ears. He jumps and squirms, trying in vain to get away from me as I strengthen my embrace around him. My left arm wraps around his waist while my right goes under his arm, across his shoulder and against his head. It takes several minutes of increasing my pressure around him before he finally runs out of the adrenaline needed to fight. He’s now wheezing badly as he allows his head to collapse against my shoulder.
“That’s it Cole. Let your instincts be your guide.”
I whisper gently as I start rubbing the back of his head. He whimpers lightly as he shifts his feet.
“What’s making you uncomfortable? Alister and Bradley are getting ready to release you from the cuffs. I know it’s going to be painful to do so I don’t want anything adding to it.”
I encourage him to talk to me.
“My back isn’t right.” He whispers after a long pause.
“Did Dresden hurt you before restraining you?”
“No sir. I don’t remember much but I do know that it’s old. Your arm.”
He stops as if he doesn’t want to finish what he wants to say.
“I’m sorry.” I start as I realize where my arm is at.
“Please sir, I’m not asking for you to leave me. I just need you to move….”
“No. Just give me a moment. I truly am sorry I didn’t pay attention to where my arm is at. Alpha Demetri mentioned you had an old injury and that you seemed comfortable when he wrapped his arm around your hips compared to your waist.” I whisper as I adjust my hold.
“Maverick, are you ready for us to remove?” Bradley asks.
“Yes. Alister I need you to wait until I get his left side taken care of before attempting to remove the cuff. I’ve seen him do this before and you need to hold his hand and keep him from moving. Every move he makes worsens the burns he already has.”
The young doctor explains. Cole’s fight renews as Bradley has quickly turned the key and has started prying the silver restraint from his skin.
“Duck your nose into my neck.”
I encourage as he screams and yelps. I hold him tightly as soon as he manages to get back onto my shoulder. His cries quiet impressively quick as I hear the chain hit the pole it’s attached to.
“Cole, do you recognize my voice?” Maverick starts talking directly to Cole.
“Yes sir.” He’s barely able to speak.
“I’m sorry I can’t give you more of a choice as I know control is very important to those who have been traumatized. What I would like is for you to choose what comes next. Do you want me to take care of the burns on your freed wrist or remove the cuff first.”
He allows a moment of silence so Cole can decide.
“The cuff.” He answers.
“Move with me. I’m going to bring your arm into a more comfortable position on Martin’s shoulder than Bradley will remove the cuff. It’s important that you don’t move.”
I can feel him nod against my neck.
“Alister, place your hand in his. Give him something to squeeze. My experience with these has shown that the removal of the cuffs are as painful as the whipping itself.”
“This isn’t the first time he’s done a whipping?”
It sounds like Alister is searching for additional information.
“He reserves his worst treatment for the rogues that come in but I have seen him brutalize pack members as well. Usually those who speak out the most against his brutal ways.”
Multiple yelps and Cole’s struggle against my hold prompt me to squeeze him gently. I lay my head against his in an effort to pin him completely against me. Tapping into my training with Demetri seems to be benefitting the young man as the increased pressure has calmed most of his fight.
“Wonderfully done, Cole.”
Maverick compliments as the second chain clangs against the pole signaling the young man’s freedom.
“Cole, would you like to sit down while I take care of your wrists?”
He shakes his head, immediately clinging harder to my shoulders with his newly freed wrists.
“Do you have a bed or anything that would allow us to maintain this chest to chest position? He is responding very well to what Demetri said he needs.”
“Not without leaving the building and I need to get the bleeding stopped.”
I turn my attention back to Cole.
“I don’t know how much this is going to hurt but it’s important that you move with Maverick. You will feel a lot better when he’s done.”
I encourage his cooperation gently near his ear.
“I’m okay with Maverick. I’ve been living with him until I was put in jail.”
He whispers after a long silence.
“How did you find Cole?”
I ask just to receive a single finger held up.
“Cole, the cuffs cut into your skin which has you bleeding. I’m going to use a spray that will stop it. It has a decent sting to it but I promise that goes away as the bleeding stops.”
