Monday, November 26th Pt. 5
I hold my hand up as I can tell Jon wants to say something.
“After that I will go through a short timeline on what my plan is for the immediate future. The hardest part of our conversation is what I was able to find out about what Jeremy went through. He opened up to me after Dr. Wilson did the physical and I took pictures of his injuries. I will also be letting you know about the results of the tests we took and the steps I will be taking in helping him recover from his ordeal.”
I receive a nod from Jon as he consoles his mate, encouraging her gently to sit with him. Splitting up this loving family is the last thing I want to do but it looks like that may be the only option we have.
“Immediately, while you were caring for your other kids and taking a nap, I have gotten the doctors to complete everything that I ordered on Saturday and I am waiting to hear back from Alpha Andrew on his status here at the hospital. No matter what his status ends up being, he will not be moved to Red General.”
I pause to allow the worried parents a moment to breathe.
“Thank you alpha.” Molly breaths out.
“Molly, dear, I really would prefer that you call me Demetri.” I remind her gently.
“I’m….”
“No Molly. While I will admit that I’m strict and unforgiving, those are only with very specific aspects of my pack’s life. It’s very rare for a good wolf to find themselves bent across my desk.”
She nods slowly as I continue with what I need them to know.
“Now before I get started, who will be coming with me?” Something I forgot to address.
“Molly and the kids. Jamie and I will start working on getting out once Cole is able to leave. He won’t survive long enough to escape if he doesn’t have help, especially since Alpha Redmen is now denying him the funds needed to take care of him.”
“I admire your resolve and greatly appreciate it. How easily can you move between Red Fang’s territory and White Moon’s?”
“Even though White General has a policy of not treating Red Fang members, we are not restricted from entering the territories of those we are allied with. There is a possibility Alpha Redmen will restrict Jamie or I’s movements after Molly and the kids leave but my understanding is that he will tell you before he resorts to assaulting you for not following the rules.”
“He actually enforces the rules?” I can’t contain the shock in my voice.
“The ones involving movement among his pack members are quite strict. He actively utilizes transportation passes for any wolf who needs to visit any pack outside of White Moon, White Fang and now, Crescent Moon. It’s a good two to three hour drive to get to the end of any of them.” I nod, satisfied with his answer.
“I will get back with you on shipping your belongings to Crimson Dawn.” He nods in return.
“To start with, the four of you will be living in the pack house. On the third floor I have four apartments. One belongs to my beta and his son. The second belongs to my delta, his mate and their twins. I consistently have the other two open for long term situations like this. It may be a little cramped compared to what you currently have but I do believe you will adjust nicely to it. It is fully furnished, with two floors. The first floor is 500 square feet and is set up with a study, full bath, laundry room and family room. The study can be turned into a fourth bedroom if you desire just let me know once you’ve seen the layout. The second floor is 1,200 square feet with the standard house set up, three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Two rooms are set up for kids with full over twin bunk beds and the largest has a king size bed. All of the linens are already there and Luna Lillian will take all of you shopping for clothing once you get there. The banquet hall is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner except when weather is bad enough to close the local schools. I will alert all pack members to that potential ahead of time to ensure they have food in their refrigerators. I also reduce the amount the banquet hall serves during breakfast and lunch and close it for dinner on the weekends. I will give you a schedule for the banquet hall as well as when Lilly and my family eat in the pack house. You are welcome to either.
In regards to the children, all three will be withdrawn from their current schools. Molly, I will need your assistance in getting their school records transferred to me so I can set them up in their new schools.” She nods as well.
“Will they start right away?” I can hear the concern in Molly’s voice.
“No. This is way too sudden and traumatic for them to go to school immediately. What I’m looking at is having a tutor come to the pack house. They will do testing to verify where the kids are in their grade level and work to get them where they need to be before starting back into school when they all return January 2nd. In regards to working, Molly, I believe that you’re a registered nurse?”
“Yes sir.”
“Ok, so I will let you know the date and time but I will be setting you up on interviews with both my lead doctor in the medical wing, Angela Pierce and the director of Crimson General, Allen Christensen. They will both give me feedback on their interviews as well as recommendations for placement at which time I will do my own interview to work out the best situation for you. This will be around the same time as getting your girls back in school.”
“What about Jeremy?” I hold my hand up as I knew this would come up.
“The girls will have the same physical and blood tests done as Jeremy but unless they come up as a gamma rank, which I highly doubt, imprinting will start while they are being homeschooled. I will call for them once a day, they are to report to my office soon as you receive word that I want them. Imprinting takes many forms but the main method I will use on the girls will be therapeutic in nature. Talking to them, letting them ask any questions that they want to know about me, the pack, how things are run, absolutely anything. It’s in this method that they will learn to trust me and I will be able to get them to talk about any mistreatment they may have received. I will also be doing the same to you, Molly.” I’m relieved to see her nod.
“I do apologize but I do feel that this is going to be the most difficult part of our conversation. Jon, since you have decided that you are staying here, I’d like you to hold him for a bit. If I can receive clearance to administer the pain medication that he’s on, my plan is to start moving him, your mate and your girls to my pack tomorrow. I know leaving you after such a difficult story of what happened is the last thing you need but….”
“It’s for the best alpha.”
He surprises me as he stands. I stand myself, graciously accepting his touch on my arms, helping me find my balance before I place his sleeping son in his arms. I help him as he helped me sit in the seat I was in. Since Molly and Jon had found the seats Lydia brought in large enough for them to sit together in, I move to the seat next to Molly. I slide the second chair closer, taking her hand in mine. She looks into my eyes as tears already threaten to leave hers.
“I am so sorry to hurt you like this, but you need to know what happened in order to understand the special treatment that Jeremy will be receiving.”
She nods her head slowly as she lets the tears fall. This is one of the worst parts of operating a sanctuary pack, telling a child’s story to the ones who love him the most.
