Wednesday, October 10th Pt. 7

“Thank you for your input. Considering you were involved in fighting but no major injuries have occurred, the standard punishment of ten hits with your security guard, Delta Ashton, handling the belt Thursday evening after dinner under Alpha Whiteman’s supervision is what you will receive, Delta Washington. Gamma Chaplin, with consideration to the fact that there are no direct witnesses towards you fighting anyone combined with your cooperation in the investigation, we agree that physical punishment will not be given to you.” Arthur finishes up the physical punishment aspect of this group’s meeting.
“However,” Daniel starts where Arthur left off. “The fact that Alpha Redmen ordered the three of you….”
“Five, sir.” Amos tries to interrupt politely.
“All five of you were ordered to attack the alpha’s son?” He’s stunned that it could possibly be true.
“Yes sir.” Max confirms Amos’s statement.
Daniel has to stop and rethink what he wants to say after such a revelation being shared.
“It is beyond disturbing to think that the alpha of the pack would order such a thing on his own son but for three of you to follow through with such a callous act of inhumanity escapes my ability to describe how wrong it is. No alpha participating in the prospect program is interested in drones that are willing to commit such a heinous crime without thought. As a result of your inability to think on your own, the three of you will be immediately withdrawn from the prospect program. This is the last pack you will visit as warrior prospects.”
“If no one else has anything else to add I think it’s time for the first three to head back to their rooms where they will remain until the end of their time here.” Marie signals the end of the first half of the meeting.
“Wait, why do they get to hear our punishment but we don’t get to hear theirs. They were just as much a part of this as we were.” Dallas again, struggles to keep his mouth shut.
“It would be in your best interest to come with me back to your room.” Sanchez tries to gain the upper hand diplomatically.
“No, that pervert deserves what he got and I’m not getting punished for doing as I was told.”
“Have you ever been abused?” Alpha Whiteman is nearing the end of his rope.
“What?” His question seems to have stunned Dallas.
“Have you ever been beaten until you were bloody over things that don’t matter?”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Have you ever been spanked over something stupid, like knocking your cup over at dinner or you didn’t take your shoes off before walking on the carpet?”
“No, that’s stupid.” Dallas responds without knowing where Alpha Whiteman is going with the questions.
“Well, Mr. Declan, that’s how I grew up until I found out the truth of who I really was. I ran from the same treatment that Cole is receiving, the very same that you are all too willing to dish out yourself without a shred of evidence to support it.”
“I saw the video!”
“Then why hasn’t the council heard about it?! Why has Alpha Redmen elected to choose torture, no matter if the young man is on his land or not, to deal with this problem?!”
Dallas’s disrespect has Alpha Whiteman fuming and I rise from my chair slowly, preparing to intervene.
“It’s drones like you that deserve to be forced onto the table with your clothes stripped from your backside so I have nothing restraining me from inflicting the same pain and fear upon you that has been rained down upon him!”
“Alpha Whiteman!” I speak with authority as I let my own alpha aura blaze. “Step into your office, please.”
It’s with a sharp growl that he stands from being nearly in Dallas’s face. For the first time Dallas’s smug look has been replaced by fear as he has slowly leaned his entire body away from Alpha Whiteman’s advancing physical presence beside him. He leaves the table heading to his office with me following quickly behind, shutting the door once we’re both inside the soundproof room.
“Does this reaction mean you change your mind on helping him?” I can’t help but ask.
“I’ve already helped him behind the council’s back.” He growls as he paces the rug behind his desk.
“The only way you can help him more than simply giving him a map of your territory is to calm down. I don’t want to disclose too much information in front of the three that actually attacked him but I’m hoping his brother can sway the council into helping him.” He nods silently as he struggles to reign his fury in.
“If the council doesn’t budge what can we do to get him away from Red Fang?”
“Not much. It’s too late to implement operation underground. That’s something we have to set up before he goes to the hospital as only very specific personnel interact with the patient when they are traveling against their alpha’s knowledge.”
“So where do we go from here? It was difficult enough to learn that his father was using the link to torture him but to learn about this.”
He’s shaking his head as walks, slowing slightly as his eyes glaze.
“Ashton and Sanchez are taking them out of the conference room. The council needs us to go back.”
“Are you calm enough to handle what happens next?”
“I don’t have much choice if I want to help him.” He sighs.
It seems that only I get to see this more laid back, almost vulnerable side of Alpha Whiteman but it does exist for the correct people. He may not be able to handle caring for and rehabilitating abused wolves but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to help them. I nod my head and extend my arm, inviting him to proceed before me into the room.
We walk back into a much less crowded room where everyone has taken the opportunity to be not as close together.
“Alpha Andre, are you still with us?” I call out as I walk to my seat.
“Yes sir. Can I ask questions or is this still formal?”
“Both, Alpha Andre. We are still recording the conversation but we can be a little looser on the formalities.” Marie speaks up.
“What do you need to know?” She asks as she finishes typing something into her phone.
“My business at blister ridge is training to be the next alpha of Red Fang. Part of that training is education on the Werewolf Committee and the Council. How they came into existence, why they were created and what they do now. My question, before I get into my needs, are all council members educated on sanctuary packs and operation underground?”
“Yes. All members of both groups are very well educated as only alphas and betas are selected to be part of the group.”
“I’m sorry Dr. Moore but I need each of the members I’m talking with to confirm they are familiar with both of those elements.”
“We are all trained that way, Alpha Andre.” Marie starts first.
“All alphas and betas interested in becoming council members must complete a four year training program. Packs residing in the northern half of the east coast use Blister Ridge.” Daniel adds.
“It’s rare for the retiring alpha to send their predecessor, especially if it’s their son, to Blister Ridge nowadays. Most alphas will groom their children from birth to take over the pack.” Arthur takes his turn.
“That brings up an important point that I believe we’re all struggling with.” Marie jumps back in. “Are you being abused, Alpha Andre?”
“There is no purpose in disclosing what’s happening with me until my brother is safe. The reason I instructed Amos to act nervous and uncomfortable with my link was because I needed to get someone’s attention. I knew trying to use Amos or Max’s phone for this conversation would not work.”
“How did you know I would pick up on it?” I can’t help but ask.
“You’re similar to Alpha Black when caring for Cole.”
“All alphas are trained to recognize abuse when a new wolf enters their land. We’re trying very hard to do away with the automatic killing of rogues when they enter a pack’s territory.” Marie explains.
“We’re getting away from the purpose of this conversation. We need to get back to what you need from us and finding out how much Beta Maximus and Delta Amos participated in this attack.” Daniel tries to get us back on track.
“I do believe that Max and Amos told you of their involvement already, Councilman.” Andre responds hotly. “What I need from the council is to grant my brother emergency sanctuary status and use operation underground to send him back to Alpha Black under an alias.”
