Saturday, November 24th Pt. 4

“Take my hand, bud. We’re going in the other room for a little talk.”
I’m surprised when he doesn’t fight my request. He places his hand in mine but the resistance that comes from him not moving stops me from moving forward.
“Daddy, it hurts. It hurts and I’m scared. He’s going to do it again until I learn how to lie. Until I tell him what he wants the council to hear.”
His tears are silent as they roll down his cheeks. I sigh hard as hearing that he’s hurting bad enough to not want to move is disturbing to say the least. I crouch down in front of him, using my thumbs to wipe his tears. I can’t begin to describe the depths to which my heart has dropped hearing my little boy’s cry for help.
“I need to see. I need you to pull down your pants.”
He shakes his head side to side as his tears continue to fall.
“Please, daddy. It hurts.” He whispers.
“May I pick you up?”
He looks at me uncertain and confused.
“I know. I’m sorry. Normally I just pick you up but if you’re hurting badly enough that you don’t want to move then picking you up will hurt too.”
“I’m scared. Daddy please help me. I'm so scared.”
He whispers as he holds his hands out. I scoop him up gently and slowly bring him to my chest uncertain where his injuries are.
“Please tell me what hurts.”
I whisper as he whimpers and squirms. I settle him against my chest with my arm under his bottom and against his legs. He lets out a shrill yelp before grabbing me around my neck, squeezing hard on the back of my shirt.
“Alpha Black?” I sigh as I walk back into the room. “We have a big problem.”
“Yes sir. I’m sorry. I need to talk with Jeremy.”
I can feel my young son crying hard against my shoulder. I rub his back gently, preying that it’s a comfort and not something that is creating more pain.
“I’m not certain how much talking he’s going to be willing to do.”
I speak my concern with a sigh.
“I know but I still have to try and figure out the extent of what happened.”
I can hear a door open before the sound gets cut off. Seems like Alpha Black muted the phone before coming back to it.
“Jeremy, I need you to talk to me so I can figure out the best way to help you.”
I can feel his head rubbing a silent no against my shoulder.
“You’re not talking to Alpha Redmen, Jeremy. It’s okay to tell him what happened.”
“No it’s not!”
He cries before sobbing again. I look towards Molly as she holds our girls also sobbing from the unknown abuse that Jeremy has suffered.
“Why isn’t it okay to talk about?”
Alpha Black’s voice has become so gentle that it somehow gives Jeremy the confidence to find his voice.
“He will do it again if I tell.”
“I see.” Alpha sighs gently. “As much as I need him to tell me what happened I have enough information from Caitlyn and Brittany, as well as his very fearful refusal to talk to legally remove all of you from the pack.”
“What?” I’m breathless with shock as Jeremy clings to me even harder.
“The final decision is with you, of course, but it’s obvious that Alpha Redmen has started targeting the youngest members of the pack in an effort to build a case of pediphilia against Cole. I’ve recently been blessed with the return of a pack member who left to become a legal consultant for the council. Word got out that I’ve gotten mixed up in rescuing pups from my neighboring pack, Blue Ridge, and he approached the council about rejoining Crimson Dawn as legal counsel. Although at the moment I can only reach him by phone, Alpha Alexus Peters is the one that brought the change in laws to Xavier’s attention. I brought my fears of a targeted attack on the pups starting up and he assured me, even though this is specific to my end goal of getting Cole out, finding grievous acts of harm towards members that I’m in contact with is legal cause for removal.”
“Sounds like the council is finally taking a different stance on ferals.”
“Yes, Jon. Someone has changed their mindset to allow them to see most feral wolves for who they really are; wolves whose humanity was broken after years of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, torture and neglect. It’s rare to find a wolf who was born feral. It’s even rarer to find one who's been as tortured as Cole has and still has any sense of justice or loyalty left.”
“What do we do next? What is your plan for us?”
“First, Jeremy I will respect your desire not to talk for now. I think telling me what happened in person will allow you to see and feel the difference between Alpha Redmen and I.”
“No! I don’t want to see you. I don’t want to feel you!“
I’m surprised when he screams at Alpha Black before breaking down in my arms again.
“I’m so sorry alpha. He’s….”
“No Jonathan.”
I freeze as he speaks my full name sternly for the first time. I can feel the fear Alpha Redmen has instilled in me over the last three years welling up within me.
“It’s just a phone call. He’s not Redmen.” I whisper softly.
“Daddy?” Jeremy’s voice quivers as I look around at Molly and the girls.
“Was it the tone of voice or calling you Jonathan?”
Alpha’s tone is much softer and quite concerned with such a simple trigger. I take a deep breath and let it out slowly before speaking.
“Both.” I sigh, suddenly feeling very shy with this alpha.
“I’m sorry. I could tell by your tone that you had become very frightened by your son’s outburst. While I am very strict and hold my pack to very high expectations I am only unforgiving in very specific categories of behavior. Are you okay with continuing the conversation?”
“Yes sir.”
I try to settle my nerves as I know he was trying to get some information from Jeremy.
“Jeremy, I understand this will be difficult considering your own father’s reaction but it is important that I know where you’re experiencing pain so I can get the doctor to look at you closely.”
“No, please daddy. I don’t want to talk.”
“Can you show your dad where he hurt you?”
To my surprise he sits up off of my chest. With tears in his eyes, he starts trying to remove his shirt but the pain is obviously holding him back.
“He tried to take his shirt off but it put him in tears to do so. He gave up barely halfway up. Do you have video on this phone?”
“Give me three seconds to call back.”
I stand as Jeremy yelps. I know I’m moving far too quickly for my son’s comfort but what little I saw has my heart in my throat.
“I’m sorry daddy. I’m scared.”
“I’m scared too.”
I whisper near his ear as I lay him on the couch. He lets me go easily but suddenly has a change of mind and tries to grab his shirt. I catch his hands in mine, shaking my head gently as I guide them towards his mother now positioned at his head. He whimpers softly as she takes his hands in hers.
“It’s okay, Jerry. We need to see.”
I try to comfort him as he starts to cry. My breath catches again in my throat as the phone rings with alpha’s call. Jamie answers it quickly.
“Daddy.”
He whimpers as I gently push his shirt up to his chest. There is complete silence as we gaze upon the damage Alpha Redmen was willing to inflict upon my young son. Jamie and I chose to help Cole knowing the price we had to pay to keep alpha’s youngest child alive these last three years but to target my son.
“We can’t stay here any more.” I whisper in complete shock.
“I’m sorry daddy. I’m sorry I couldn’t lie.”
He whimpers as he attempts to curl into a ball.
“How long will it take for you to get to White General?”
