Chapter 115 Meeting Violet

Betrayal was always the worst.

Wyatt saw Fergus's face go ghostly white with fear. He never thought the Governor would show up. Dropping to his knees, he cried out, "Mr. Yost, I messed up. It's all on me. Please, give me another shot. I won't screw up again. I've got a family to take care of. Please, forgive me."

He kept begging and pleading.

After busting his butt for half his life to get where he was, getting fired would mean losing everything.

Fergus wasn't having any of it. He said coldly, "When you screwed up, did you think about your family? Why should I care now? You did this to yourself. Governor Frod, dig into his background and throw the book at him!"

Wyatt was so terrified he passed out.

Frank didn't like Fergus's tone, but he knew the job had to get done and nodded.

Everyone watching was even more freaked out. Why did it seem like Fergus was bossing the Governor around? Did Fergus have some secret identity?

Fergus then turned to Tyler and laughed, "Governor Frod, Tyler's the one who started all this. He's the mastermind!"

Tyler was sweating bullets. He shot Fergus a furious look. Fergus was really lucky to have the Governor on his side!

If it weren't for Governor Frod, Fergus would have been toast!

Frank gave Tyler a hard stare. He wanted to deal with him, but Tyler was in business with Violet. He had to think it over.

He said coldly, "We'll handle him when we talk to Violet. Let's go. Someone else will take care of this."

Fergus thought for a second and agreed. Tyler deserved to suffer slowly.

"Alright," he said, getting up and leaving with Frank. As they passed Tyler, Fergus patted his face and grinned, "This is just the start. Don't rush."

Tyler was about to blow a gasket. If Violet changed her mind, he'd be in deep trouble. How did Fergus know the Governor?

Everyone stepped back, clearing a path for them.

They'd barely taken a few steps when the restaurant door flew open.

Max, who had run off earlier, stormed in looking furious and yelled, "Fergus, I'm gonna tear you apart today. How dare you mess with me! I'll crush you!"

The girl with the plastic surgery face next to him sneered, "Do you even know who you're messing with? Mr. Ortiz's uncle is the deputy chief of police. He could squash you like a bug!"

They'd gone to get backup!

Hearing this, everyone was stunned. Max was still looking for trouble?

"Stop yelling," a middle-aged man walked in behind them, followed by a dozen officers. It was the deputy chief of Tarynville Police Department. He walked up and said calmly, "Max, I've told you to stay cool. When dealing with a nobody, don't shout. Just act!"

He barked, "Who messed with Max? Step up!"

As he spoke, he saw Frank standing nearby and nearly fainted. Was that the Governor?

"It's him!" Max, hearing his uncle and seeing everyone else quiet, felt on top of the world. They must be scared of his uncle. He loved being the center of attention!

He stepped forward and said arrogantly, "Fergus, crawl over and beg me now, or I'll have my uncle drag you to the station and torture you with everything they've got!"

The girl sneered, "Deal with him!"

Before they could blink, the middle-aged man slapped them both hard, thinking, 'Don't you see who's standing next to Fergus? You're gonna get me killed!'

He roared, "Shut up! If you say another word, I'll deal with you myself!"

He quickly ran forward, almost in tears.

Fergus smirked, "These are your subordinates, abusing their power for personal gain, standing up for his nephew."

Frank turned red with anger. He glared at Fergus and then told his secretary, "Tell the Mayor to investigate this guy thoroughly!"

"Yes!" The secretary nodded.

The middle-aged man froze, realizing he was done for.

"Who do you think you are!" Max walked over, holding his face. He never watched the news and didn't recognize Frank.

He grumbled, "Why'd you hit me, Uncle? And you, you think you can investigate my uncle? Who do you think you are? My uncle is under dual jurisdiction. Only the state police can handle him. The Mayor can't just investigate him. Stop pretending to be a big shot."

Frank was livid, almost shaking with rage. He turned and ordered, "Contact the state police and investigate him!"

"Yes!" The secretary nodded again.

Max glared. "Stop pretending. Who are you?"

Fergus said coolly, "He's the Governor of Silvervale State!"

Max was instantly stunned.

Half an hour later, in a car outside the villa area, the two discussed the night's events.

"So, you don't know who the killer is either?" Frank frowned. He didn't believe in perfect crimes.

But from the current investigation, there were no clues.

Talking about this, Fergus got serious.

He said solemnly, "For now, I can only say it's a martial arts expert, a very skilled one! We won't get the answer until Violet's memory returns."

Frank frowned deeply. Speaking of Violet's amnesia, it was ultimately his own mistake. He looked at Fergus and asked tentatively, "Don't you have a way?"

He had great confidence in Fergus's medical skills and believed there should be a way.

Fergus smiled bitterly and shook his head, "There was a way, but it can't be used right now. So the best way is to let Violet recover her memory on her own."

Frank asked in surprise, "Can't be used?"

Fergus explained, "People have souls. Amnesia is losing a part of the soul. As long as Violet finds that part of the soul, she can recover the memory. But the method to find it requires certain occult techniques, which aren't suitable right now."

Changing Violet's fate had already been pushing the limits, so he couldn't be too flashy and needed to act in secret. Of course, ordinary people would find it hard to understand.

Occult techniques?

Frank looked at Fergus with a meaningful expression. He had heard the term before.

He emphasized, "Let's go up first. Since you're not the killer, I'll do my best to clear your name!"

Soon, the two arrived at Sky Palace.

There were many more hidden sentries around, guarding without any blind spots. When the car approached, someone jumped out to stop it, but seeing Frank inside, they let it pass.

After waiting in the living room for a while, footsteps came from the stairs. Violet, wearing casual clothes and looking pale, came down from upstairs.

She smiled, "Frank, thanks for coming all this way. Actually, I'm already fine."

As she spoke, she saw Fergus, and her smile froze instantly.
