Chapter 17 You Should Thank Me
Fergus bluntly said he needed to talk to Violet alone and didn't have time for patients, especially since he didn't treat just anyone.
Violet looked at him, pleading.
The three of them walked out together.
Violet couldn't help but ask, "Fergus, how did you know Uncle Samuel would...?"
It was amazing; Fergus could see the problem with just one look and even predict the time of his death. Unbelievable.
Frank perked up his ears. He'd seen many skilled doctors, but never anyone was as terrific as Fergus.
Fergus smiled faintly and said, "I didn't know; I caused it. He got angry because of me!"
"He already had a temper and some old health issues. When I contradicted him, he got so mad he vomited blood. If he hadn't met me, he'd have been fine."
"I said it was too late to go to the hospital just to scare him."
Violet was dumbfounded.
Frank thought, 'The State Capital commander was so angered by you that he almost died, and you still dare to say it out loud?'
The three of them went to a nearby reception room. After chatting a bit, Violet was sent out because Frank's issues were private.
She walked back to the reception room.
As soon as she entered, she saw an old man examining Samuel. It was David Brown, the best doctor in Tarynville.
David frowned and said, "Mr. Miller, I don't see anything wrong with you. Based on the description..."
"You were just angered. It was a momentary fit of rage, not life-threatening!"
Violet froze, feeling exposed.
"What? I was just angered?" Samuel's face turned sullen. He thought he was really dying and had been scared out of his wits.
David nodded. "That's right. You were just angered. If you weren't, you would have been healthy. Life-threatening issues are nonsense."
"If I'm not mistaken, you must have offended him, and he scared you on purpose!"
Hearing this, Samuel almost spat out blood again. His eyes blazed with anger, and he wished he could tear Fergus to pieces.
He asked, "Violet, where is that bastard? Where is he?"
Violet was at a loss because she had just confirmed with Fergus that this was the reason. With Samuel's temper, if he found Fergus, he wouldn't let him off easily.
If it reached her grandpa, the problem would be even worse!
Before she could speak, the door opened.
Fergus and Frank walked in. It was a small issue. If Violet hadn't come in earlier, he would have just given a secret remedy and been done with it.
"Scoundrel!"
Seeing Fergus, Samuel was furious and rushed over.
"Uncle Samuel!"
Violet quickly blocked him, anxiously saying, "Fergus, run quickly!"
Fergus was confused and instinctively asked, "Why should I run?"
Frank also said, "Samuel, is there some misunderstanding?"
Frank had just had Fergus treat him, so he wanted to help.
"Mr. Ford, here is the thing..." Someone nearby explained what had happened, adding, "Mr. Ford, he's a fraud!"
"Let go of me. I want to personally kill this scum today!" Samuel's eyes were wide with anger.
"Idiot..."
Fergus shook his head and said helplessly, "I don't know how you became a commander. Didn't you hear David say you're healthy? You should be thanking me!"
