Chapter 69 Begging on Their Knees

Sarah had just mentioned that without Violet, Fergus would be starving, and now someone was trying to snatch him away?

If it were anyone else, it wouldn't be a big deal, but this guy was the head honcho of the Stevens Family from Silvervale Province, and he showed up in person!

Kevin thought for a second and said, "Ms. Gray, I really admire Mr. Yost's skills, but it's up to him. Let's see what he thinks."

"I don't agree," came a voice from the stairs. It was Fergus, who had just finished treating Xavier. He walked down and said, "Are you looking for a beating? You still want me to work for you?"

It seemed Fergus had been too easy on Kevin in prison, and now Kevin had the nerve to talk so boldly.

Seeing Fergus come down, Kevin shivered, remembering the days in prison when he had to wash his face in the toilet.

But before he could say anything...

"Fergus!" Violet shot him a look, reminding him, "This is Mr. Stevens, the head of the Stevens Family from the State Capital!"

Violet thought Fergus didn't recognize him.

Fergus grinned. "I know. Kevin, what the hell are you doing here so late?"

Normally, seeing an old buddy would stir up some feelings, but he was too tired from treating patients to care.

Violet's heart skipped a beat. 'This is the head of the Stevens Family, a guy who could shake the whole Silvervale Province with a stomp of his foot! How could he just call him by his first name and be so rude?'

Sarah couldn't take it anymore and said, "Fergus, are you nuts? Can you talk to Mr. Stevens like that? Do you know that Ms. Gray's life was ruined because of you, and you still dare to cause trouble? You ungrateful jerk!"

"Sarah!" Violet quickly cut in, her voice colder than ever. "If you say one more word, go back to the Capital City immediately!"

She didn't want Fergus to know; there was only one month left, and she wanted to spend it peacefully.

Fergus heard and frowned, asking, "What's going on?"

"Nothing." Violet's eyes flickered, then she looked at Kevin and smiled. "Mr. Stevens, please come in and sit down. Fergus is indeed very capable, and capable people have their quirks. I hope you don't mind."

In just a few minutes, Violet had made up her mind. Since she would have to leave sooner or later, arranging a good future for Fergus by sticking with the Stevens Family wasn't a bad idea!

Kevin nodded. "I don't mind, I don't mind."

"Get lost!" Fergus shouted angrily, "If you keep getting in my way, I'll make you wash your face in the toilet for the rest of your life!"

Fergus just wanted to find out what had happened to Violet.

"Fergus!" Violet said coldly. The situation was barely under control, and offending the Stevens Family further would be a disaster.

"Fergus!" Sarah was furious. She couldn't understand why Fergus was being so arrogant.

However, Kevin quickly said, "I'm leaving, I'm leaving now. Good night, Mr. Yost, good night, Ms. Gray."

After saying that, he ran off. Kevin knew very well that Fergus meant what he said.

Seeing this, Violet and Sarah were stunned. Kevin wasn't angry but ran away?

Fergus walked over and asked again, "Violet, what's going on?"

Violet was still in shock.

Fergus knew Violet was surprised because of Kevin and explained briefly, "We were once in the same prison. Kevin couldn't get food, and I helped him. Sarah knows."

Violet suddenly understood.

Sarah gritted her teeth, remembering the events at Twilight Ridge Estate. She knew but couldn't believe it, even if she heard it with her own ears.

She sneered, "Still flaunting your prison glory outside. If I had such connections, I would have become a top-tier socialite long ago. You're really out of your mind."

In Sarah's eyes, Fergus was getting more and more reckless.

Fergus brushed off Sarah's words, thinking they were just nonsense. Arguing with her would only make him mad. He turned his attention back to Violet.

Violet felt a bit guilty under his gaze and finally spilled the beans about the "one month" situation.

Fergus got it and said, "So, if within a month, your assets hit a billion dollars, you won't have to go back and marry that idiot, right?"

It wasn't just about going back; Violet's fate of eternal loneliness hadn't changed. If she went back, she would surely be killed!

Sarah snorted disdainfully, "Of course, even a fool can get that. But is it possible? Even the famous Radiant Overlord Ryan Cox couldn't rake in a billion dollars in a month! Plus, the current market is all about real estate and pharmaceuticals. The Zimmerman family has already taken over pharmaceuticals and won't give it up. How are you going to boost your assets? It's a pipe dream! Fergus, Ms. Gray is really unlucky to have met you!"

After saying that, she glared at Fergus, getting angrier by the second.

"You should leave; I need to rest!" Violet started to send them away, knowing it was impossible but still trying to comfort them, "Fergus, don't overthink it. There's always hope for success. What if a miracle happens?"

Fergus looked at her and smiled. "No need for miracles. Becoming the richest is simple. Just trust me."

He probably had tens or hundreds of billions in his bank account.

At worst, he could ask those business tycoons from prison for billion-dollar orders, as long as he made sure they could eat well in the future.

If he promised them extra perks, they would probably compete to help.

Violet was speechless.

She couldn't understand why Fergus seemed so confident about everything, but his confidence was impressive.

"I'm so mad!" Sarah stomped her foot and shouted, "Fergus, should I say you're brainless or just crazy? That's billions of dollars, not just a few bucks! Plot 140 only increased in value because it happened to be a key development area for the province. Do you think it was your ability? Fine, go ahead and make billions. If you don't make it within a month, find a cesspool and jump in to apologize. Dare you?"

Violet found it endearing, but Sarah found it hateful, shameless, and despicable!

Just then.

Just then, two figures ran to the door.

They knelt on the ground simultaneously.

It was Hayden, the richest man in Tarynville, and his wife, Linda!

Tears streamed down their faces. "Fergus, we were wrong. We know we were wrong. Please save Sophia; she attempted suicide! It was our fault before. We were wrong. Do whatever you want with us, but please save Sophia. We'll pay any price!"

They had first sought out David, the renowned healer in Tarynville, but David could only keep her breathing and couldn't save her. David told them to find Mr. Yost, and they learned that Mr. Yost was Fergus!

They were struck by lightning.

"What!" Violet was stunned, unable to believe it.

Fergus was reluctant to save her, but their timing was perfect. He said indifferently, "I can save her, but it'll cost fifty billion dollars!"

With that money, Violet could achieve the status of the richest person in Tarynville and wouldn't have to go back and marry the fool.

"Deal!" Hayden nodded heavily, choking up, "As long as you can save Sophia, I'll give you fifty billion dollars with both hands!"

Fergus looked at Sarah and sneered. "I hope to see news of you drowning in a cesspool tomorrow."

Sarah was dumbfounded.
