Chapter 14 I Disagree
Violet paused deliberately, making everyone's heart skip a beat.
Hayden straightened up instinctively.
Logan held his breath, ready for anything.
They were worried. Fergus had come in with her. What if she chose him?
But with words like excellent, wise, and outstanding, they believed it couldn't be Fergus. He just got out of prison; he wasa criminal and didn't fit those words!
Violet would still choose between Hayden and Logan.
"Who could it be?" Violet teased, smiling at Hayden and Logan.
Her gaze made their hearts race.
"It must be us. Must be us!" Linda muttered. Even though she had just offended Ms. Gray, the Shaw family had offended her more.
"It's us! It's us!" Tyler's face turned red with excitement. Despite offending Ms. Gray, he thought she might choose the Shaw family for their loyalty.
"He's a young man..." Violet continued.
Tyler's blood froze. 'Not my father, but me? Surprise comes too suddenly!' he thought happily.
Logan's face lit up with excitement. He glanced at his son and cheered inwardly, 'Success! First, become a partner, then the only one. The Shaw family is going to soar!'
Hayden gritted his teeth and looked at his daughter. 'Could it be Sophia?' he wondered.
Violet continued, "He is..."
Her gaze shifted to Fergus. "Fergus!"
Tyler was dumbfounded.
Logan's smile froze.
Hayden was stunned.
Linda was astonished, looking like she had seen a ghost.
Sophia felt like she had lost something!
How could this be? A guy who just got out of prison suddenly became Ms. Gray's partner?
Suddenly, the banquet hall erupted in applause, and everyone looked at Fergus.
"Mr. Yost, I have a partnership with Ms. Henderson..." Mr. White looked devastated, trying to build connections, feeling more and more regretful.
Fergus didn't hear Mr. White at all. He looked at Violet in surprise. He came to break off the engagement, not to become a partner.
Violet smiled and said, "Fergus, come on stage. Even though you have a prenuptial agreement and were kicked out and looked down upon, I believe you're a gem. You're gonna shine and prove everyone wrong."
"I've decided to entrust the Gray family's investment in Tarynville entirely to you. Even I won't interfere with your decisions!"
As Violet finished speaking, the banquet hall fell silent. Even the big shots were stunned.
"His decisions? Violet won't interfere? This is the Gray family's investment, not just tens of millions. It's at least 1.5 billion dollars, and the upper limit is unknown. She gave it all to Fergus?"
"It's over..." Hayden's face turned ashen.
From Violet's words, he knew it was clear she resented the Johnson family for breaking off the engagement. Fergus must resent them even more. If Fergus used the Gray family to retaliate, they wouldn't be able to resist.
"What do we do?" Linda's voice trembled.
Logan was terrified because Tyler had Bob kill Fergus. If Fergus found out, it would be a disaster for the Shaw family.
"Dad, what should we do now?" Tyler was panicking, fearing Fergus's revenge.
But Logan had no answer.
"Alright!"
Fergus hesitated but walked onto the stage. He didn't want to embarrass Violet in front of everyone.
"I disagree!" Tyler mustered the courage to speak. He knew that if Fergus took power, he would seek revenge, so Tyler wanted to stop it now.
