Chapter 95 Rephrase
Seeing this scene, everyone's faces went pale with fear.
Logan quickly backed away.
Marlin's legs gave out, and he just crumpled to the ground.
Thomas was shaking, feeling a chill run down his spine. The strongest rope they had used to tie up Fergus had been snapped by him.
Sarah was in shock.
Violet's eyes turned wary.
Fergus said, "I'm not here to hurt you. I just want to protect you."
As Fergus spoke, he stood up and glared at Logan and Marlin, sneering. "Did you enjoy hitting me earlier?"
He hadn't broken free earlier because it might not be good for his chat with Violet, and he hoped his pitiful state would jog Violet's memory, but no luck.
Logan stammered, "Fergus, you need to know your place. No one can protect you now. If you touch me, you'll wish you were dead!"
"Is that so?" Fergus said, his face blank, ready to make a move.
"Stop!" Violet suddenly said, her face more serious than ever. Even though Violet had amnesia and didn't remember Fergus, she wasn't dumb. She could tell that whether Fergus was the bad guy or not, no one here could take him on.
She said sternly, "You should leave. I'll look into your identity and what happened last night. Keep it to yourself, or I'll use my family's power against you!"
Fergus felt a sharp pain in his heart but nodded. "Alright."
Now wasn't the time to push Violet too hard. The urgent task was to find the Night Pearl to change Violet's fate; otherwise, there'd be more danger.
After speaking, he walked out slowly.
"Ms. Gray, you're just letting Fergus go like that? What if he hurts you again?" Logan was very unwilling, thinking they had a chance to kill Fergus.
"Ms. Gray, letting Fergus go is like letting a threat loose. Who knows when he'll come back to harm you again!" Marlin was equally unwilling, as his son's revenge hadn't been taken.
Violet coldly asked, "If I don't let Fergus go, are you confident you can take him down? Or protect yourselves?"
Violet didn't like these two. For some reason, she felt an inexplicable aversion to them. If it weren't for Thomas bringing them in, she wouldn't have let them in at all.
Logan and Marlin's faces turned red with embarrassment, and they were speechless.
Violet looked at Sarah and asked, "What did Fergus mean by Plot 140 and other things? And how does Fergus know about my engagement?"
She felt these things were important but couldn't remember.
Sarah hesitated for a moment, about to explain.
"Ms. Gray!" Thomas interrupted, speaking seriously, "Actually, you've been in Tarynville for a long time and have chosen a partner, Logan's son, Tyler! He's an outstanding person who's helped you expand your business."
Thomas recounted everything from Violet's arrival in Tarynville to the present, but replaced the main character with Tyler.
Violet looked at Logan.
Logan immediately stepped forward, fawning, "Ms. Gray, it's my son Tyler's honor to serve you. No need to be polite!"
Logan was overjoyed, never expecting Tyler to rise to such a position.
Standing aside, Sarah silently cursed Logan for being shameless. She wanted to reveal the truth several times but held back after seeing Thomas' gaze.
Violet frowned. For some reason, she felt a strong aversion to the name Tyler, but she thought that Thomas and the others were reputable people and shouldn't be lying.
She nodded. "Alright, then thanks for Tyler's efforts. I'm pretty wiped out today, so you all can head out now."
After saying that, she turned and went upstairs.
Passing by Fergus' room, she paused and peeked inside. "Why does it feel like something's missing?"
Meanwhile, the news of Violet's amnesia spread like wildfire through Tarynville, causing quite a stir. And that wasn't all; another bombshell dropped: #Fergus Tried to Kill Violet and Got Booted from the Gray Group by Her!
People were still reeling from that when an even juicier tidbit hit: #Violet's Partner Replaced by Tyler!
Tarynville was in an uproar.
At this moment, Fergus showed up at Xavier's shop.
"Mr. Yost!" Xavier rolled out in his wheelchair, fuming. "I heard what happened. Just say the word, and I'll gather my men to take out The Shaw Family and Marlin!"
Xavier didn't know the full story but was convinced Fergus was being set up.
Fergus shook his head and walked into a private room, sitting down. "Don't worry about that. How's the search for the Night Pearl going?"
As long as he could change Violet's fate, he had all the time in the world to deal with them.
Xavier looked guilty. "No news on the Night Pearl yet, but I heard the Violet Thunder Sect in the State Capital has Thunderstruck Wood struck three times. But the Violet Thunder Sect is the biggest witchcraft group in the state, with lots of connections. They might not take my identity seriously, so I can't buy it. I'm looking for someone, and I'll let you know as soon as I have news."
Fergus said, "Focus on finding the Night Pearl. As for the Violet Thunder Sect, they'll send the Thunderstruck Wood to me."
The old man had promised, but it hadn't been delivered yet.
Xavier trembled with awe, impressed by Fergus's ability to make the Violet Thunder Sect deliver it personally. He nodded, "I'll have people prioritize the search for the Night Pearl."
Just as he finished speaking, the private room door was violently kicked open.
Two figures were thrown in from outside.
They were the two bodyguards stationed outside.
Then, a man appeared at the door, walking into the private room step by step, teasing, "Mr. Quinn, remember me?"
"Paul Moore!" Xavier's face went pale, his breathing quickened, and he stared intently.
In Tarynville, everyone knew Xavier had a mortal enemy, and that enemy was Paul Moore, the former underground king of Tarynville!
Years ago, Xavier had launched a surprise attack, taking over all of Paul's territory overnight and leading two hundred men to hunt Paul down, but Paul escaped.
Paul said playfully, "Didn't expect Mr. Quinn to have such a good memory. Do you remember what I said when I left?"
Xavier, sweating profusely, said, "The day we meet again will be the day I die."
"Correct!" Paul looked at Xavier with contempt. "I've waited ten years. This time, I'm back for two things: to kill you all and take your money!"
Xavier gritted his teeth, saying nothing.
"Three seconds, get out of my sight!" Fergus, sitting on the couch, said irritably, "Don't disturb my peace!"
Although he hadn't shown much because of Violet's amnesia, he had been holding back his anger.
Paul suddenly looked at Fergus, squinting. "I'll give you one chance to rephrase that."
Fergus instantly stood up, and in a blink of an eye, he was in front of Paul, grabbing Paul's neck with one hand and lifting him up, coldly saying, "I'll give you one chance to rephrase that."
