Chapter 51 Twilight Ridge Estate
Soon, Logan and Hayden announced the news together.
"Tomorrow night at 8 PM, there will be a wedding ceremony for Tyler and Sophia at Westside Manor, and the entire town of Tarynville is invited!"
"It's not an engagement, but a wedding!"
As soon as the news broke, Tarynville was in shock!
Hayden was the richest man in Tarynville, and Logan was the new rising star. Their union would form a super giant, and everyone knew who they were targeting- Gray Group!
Inside the office, Sarah stormed in furiously upon hearing the news, "Fergus, look at what you've done, forcing the Johnsons and the Shaws to join together against us!"
With these two families united against them, Gray Group would be in a dilemma.
Fergus was reminiscing about that kiss and was quite annoyed at being interrupted.
He said irritably, "Next time, knock first. If you don't, you're fired."
"You..."
"What do you mean, 'you'?" He interrupted again, "Who's the boss here? Oh, and a certain someone said that if I could get Plot 140, they'd follow my orders obediently. You haven't forgotten that, have you?"
Seeing the look in his eyes, Sarah took a step back in fear and said nervously, "What are you going to do? I'm warning you, don't mess around, or I'll report you to Ms. Gray!"
"Don't worry, I'm not interested in you," He said flatly. "There's only one thing I need you to do right now."
She rolled her eyes in anger and thought, 'You say you're not interested in me? Well, I'm not interested in you either!'
She asked in a deep voice, "What is it? Don't go too far!"
"Get out!"
Fergus squeezed the word out through his teeth.
Having her around was too much of a distraction; he needed some peace and quiet.
Sarah didn't catch on immediately, but she was furious when she understood his words.. She wanted to curse him out, but then she thought about Violet's closeness to him; she'd definitely be blamed instead.
She gritted her teeth and held back.
With a stern face, she said, "Mr. Yost, regarding the Johnson and Shaw families having a marriage alliance, do you have any..."
Then, she changed her tone, "Mr. Yost, since you got the plot, Ms. Gray will give you a bonus. The employees are all waiting for you to treat them!"
She initially wanted to ask if he had any countermeasures, but then she thought it'd be better that Fergus didn't think of anything. As long as he disappointed Violet, he would be kicked out.
After half an hour, Fergus and dozens of employees parked their cars in front of a suburban estate.
The gateposts on either side were made of modern glass curtain walls, towering at least 23 feet high into the sky. They were carved with abstract geometric patterns that shimmered in the sunlight. On either side of the gate stood two modern-style tiger sculptures, majestic yet elegant.
The plaque above read 'Twilight Ridge Estate'!
It was grand and imposing!
"So this is the Twilight Ridge Estate? It's so impressive!"
"Only the rich and powerful can enter here. It's worth it coming here once in my life!"
"Standing in front of the gate makes me feel so small, but I heard this is a private house and not open to the public."
The employees were all amazed and excited.
Fergus also looked around and thought it was indeed impressive.
Seeing his expression, Sarah secretly smiled. She knew this bumpkin had never seen such grandeur.
She explained, "The area at the back is a private club, but the bar at the front is open for public consumption."
She then looked at Fergus and weakly said, "Mr. Yost, I was so focused on the grandeur that I forgot the service here is not cheap. If you think it's too expensive, we can go somewhere else!"
She had deliberately chosen this place and only mentioned the high cost now. She fully intended to rip him off!
If he left, his image among the employees would be ruined.
Either way, she wouldn't lose!
Hearing this, all the employees looked at Fergus. They were reluctant to leave, finally getting a chance to enter Twilight Ridge Estate.
"No worries, the most important thing is to have fun. I'll cover all the expenses; money is not an issue," Fergus said with a smile.
Sarah sneered inwardly, thinking he was just a nouveau riche. She tested him, "Don't you want to know how expensive it is?"
Smack!
Fergus casually took out a card. "There's a hundred million dollars on this card. Is that enough?"
Sarah and the employees fell silent, all shocked.
The employees thought, 'A hundred million dollars? Are you here to try out or buy Twilight Ridge Estate?'
Sarah's face turned red with frustration. She had planned to set Fergus up, but he had turned the tables.
She said unhappily, "Mr. Yost, boasting is not good. When it comes time to swipe the card, they won't accept it!"
"We'll just leave then!"
Fergus couldn't be bothered to explain and entered inside of Twilight Ridge Estate.
He had many such cards, all given by those guys in prison.
Soon, they got a booth on the second floor and ordered a lot of drinks and desserts. The price here was indeed high. A bottle of beer cost thirty dollars, liquor started at three thousand, and a fruit platter was six hundred.
However, it all added up to just a few thousand, which was less than Fergus's monthly interest.
The employees ordered cautiously, finding it too expensive. However, they were relaxed when seeing Fergus's nonchalant attitude, they relaxed. What if he really had the money?
Sarah's face was grim. She had come here to annoy Fergus, but he didn't seem to care. She'd have to figure out another way.
Fergus, meanwhile, was drinking and watching the pole dancers in the dance floor. They were mediocre, not as good as those guys in prison who could dance Swan Lake on their toes.
"Mr. Norris, I really can't drink anymore. If I drink more, I'll get drunk. I'm sorry."
In the distance, a girl in office attire was drunkenly refusing. Her face was flushed, her long hair disheveled while her words were slurred.
In the middle of the booth, Oliver Norris had a girl on each arm.
He said mockingly, "Ms. Henderson, I think you can still drink. If you finish these three glasses, our deal is done, haha."
The other men in the booth looked at her with greedy eyes.
As long as they got her drunk, Mr. Norris would have his fun, and then she would be theirs!
They did this often.
"Jessica, Mr. Norris is giving you an opportunity. You should cherish it!"
"Mr. Norris is going to collaborate with Mr. Zimmerman from the State Capital. His factory needs to be expanded by at least double, and the building materials order is worth over a million dollars. Don't you want it?"
"I heard many people in the Hendersons oppose you becoming the CEO. If you secure Mr. Norris's order, what can they say? Just drink up."
The more they talked, the more excited they were. They started licking their lips, their eyes roaming Jessica's body. They could already see themselves taking her away!
Jessica bit her lip, trying to sober up!
She asked seriously, "Mr. Norris, if I drink these three glasses, you'll give me the order, right?"
Oliver said meaningfully, "Of course; if you drink up, I'll give you everything."
"Alright, I'll drink!"
She thought of her family and angrily picked up the glass, drinking the alcohol. But after drinking half, her stomach churned, and she almost threw up.
Oliver squinted and said, "It seems Ms. Henderson can't drink anymore. How about this, I'll help you!"
Saying this, he stood up slowly, took a sip of the drink, and held it in his mouth.
He slowly approached her.
The people around cheered and clapped.
"What are you doing!" Jessica trembled in fear. She sensed his ill intentions and tried to stand up, but she was too drunk and couldn't get up.
Oliver had already reached her, grabbed her hair roughly and forcing her to tilt her head. He bent down, bringing his lips closer.
"Get away!" Jessica struggled violently, swinging the glass forward.
It happened to hit Mr. Norris's...
