Chapter 35 Ungrateful

It was expected that the Logan and Hayden would receive the news; after all, to be at the top of Tarynville's business world, one must have connections.

Violet frowned slightly. The timing was too coincidental, but she quickly relaxed, believing that the richest man would keep his word.

"We made it!"

Logan put down the phone, his heart racing. With the surrounding area being developed, the value of Plot 140 would multiply several times. Suddenly, he felt a bit regretful. If he had waited a bit longer, the land would have been his entirely!

There was no need to give half to Hayden!

After smiling, his eyes darted around as he provoked, "Ms. Gray, you knew about this in advance, which is why you had Fergus save Sophia, right?"

This statement implied that the help was not out of friendship but interest, deliberately scheming against Hayden.

Violet didn't hide it and openly said, "That's right, but I believe that no matter how much this land increases in value, Ms. Johnson's health is way more important."

"Mr. Johnson loves his daughter dearly. Even if he knew in advance, he'd still seek treatment."

She admitted it directly, leaving Logan with nothing to say but to look at Hayden.

"That's right!"

After contemplating, Hayden suddenly spoke and smiled, "For my daughter, no matter how much this land increases in value, it doesn't matter, and I will fulfill my promise to Ms. Gray."

"However, this contract cannot be signed by Fergus; it must be signed by you, Ms. Gray!"

This was to ensure Fergus wouldn't get credit, knowing that he couldn't gain support within the company and naturally couldn't help.

Violet frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"

Hayden cleared his throat and said heavily, "Ms. Gray may not know details. My daughter Sophia's deep sleep this time was not designed by Xavier and Walter but was caused by Fergus!"

"I can give you the land, but I absolutely cannot let an enemy sign the contract!"

As soon as he said this, everyone was stunned.Even Fergus was a bit stunned and wondered, 'How is it my fault?'

Fergus said angrily, "Are you crazy?"

"You don't need to explain; it was your fault!" Hayden was very firm, with a fearless expression. "Ms. Gray, the land is yours, and the contract can be signed at any time!"

Logan couldn't help but laugh, feeling very pleased. "Fortunately, Hayden saw through it; otherwise, I would have been wronged. You're right; Fergus shouldn't sign this contract!"

"Don't let Fergus sign!" Tyler echoed proudly, glaring fiercely at Fergus.

"I never do dirty things, but some people are always up to no good!" Walter regained his confidence.

Violet was furious. If Fergus didn't sign, according to his bet with Sarah, he would have to leave. Despite thorough explanations, Fergus found it difficult to convince these people.

She angrily said, "What if I insist that Fergus signs it?"

She unleashed her full aura, displaying the demeanor of the daughter of the Gray family from Capital City. Instantly, the atmosphere in the villa was rather tense, making it hard for everyone to breathe.

Logan and Tyler's smiles tightened.

Hayden also became serious but still said firmly, "I don't want to be an enemy of Ms. Gray, but I despise Fergus, this shameless person. If Ms. Gray insists."

"I can only break the contract!" Hayden continued.

Violet's eyes narrowed.

Before she could speak, Fergus sneered, "Fine, you can have the land; we don't want it. But by tomorrow night, I'll make you kneel and beg me to take it back!"

"Ms. Gray, let's go!"

Violet still wanted to push Hayden, but seeing Fergus's attitude, she nodded and left.

As Violent and Fergus walked out, "What a piece of trash, daring to slander me!" Tyler couldn't help but curse.

"Hayden is wise. To celebrate, how about we hold a groundbreaking ceremony at Plot 140 tomorrow?"

Logan felt very excited. The land had increased in value, and they pinned the blame on Fergus. Except for not letting Tyler sleep with Sophia, tonight was perfect.

"Insulting me and kicking me, this grudge must be avenged!" Walter said angrily.

They didn't take Fergus's words seriously at all.

Hayden didn't respond to anyone, waved them off, and went upstairs.

Linda had been upstairs all along. Seeing him come up, she couldn't help but ask, "Why did you..."

Hayden sighed and explained, "No matter who did that to Sophia, Ms. Gray will eventually return to Capital City. Fergus will sooner or later become nothing, while Logan Group will always exist. If someone has to be sacrificed, it can only be Fergus!"

As he finished speaking, Sophia walked out and said while frowning, "Dad, is it possible that we've underestimated Fergus?"

Fergus and Violet left the villa.

Violet was still furious; Hayden was ungrateful! Seeing Fergus's gloomy face, she took the initiative to say, "I'm sorry. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have suffered this injustice."

"I didn't know he would do this. In the future, I won't force you into doing anything you don't want.."

The more she thought about it, the more guilty she felt.

"It's not your fault; they have no principles."

Fergus suddenly said, "Since they are immoral, don't blame me. Stop the car; I need to get out!"

She was stunned and nervously asked, "What are you going to do? Don't be impulsive. They are big men in Tarynville's business world. If something happens to them, it will cause a big stir."

She was worried he might act impulsively and do something violent.

"Something happening to them? That would be too easy. I want them to kneel and return the land to me!"

With that, he opened the car door and jumped out.

"Fergus!"

She exclaimed, but when she looked again, he had already run far away.

Twenty minutes later, he arrived at Plot 140.

He looked at the stars while walking around the place, drawing a ritual pattern with his footsteps. His face was more serious than ever before. He had never used supernatural means against anyone before.

This time, Hayden had pushed him too far!

He indeed didn't know how to do business, but... he knew land curses!

After a full hour, he had walked around Plot 140.

Finally, he stomped heavily and said, "In the silent night, under the blood moon's gaze, I speak this curse; misery and torment befall this land forevermore!"

Boom!

The ground seemed to tremble.

A meteor streaked across the night sky...

The next day, the state decided to focus on developing the area around Plot 140, and the news spread throughout Tarynville, shocking everyone. People thought Logan would fall big this time, but Fergus turned out to be the fool instead!

Some roughly calculated that if developed properly, Logan could make over five hundred million dollars this time!

"It's just a pity that he has to share half with Hayden."

Logan was still regretting and instructed, "Tyler, go check the site. In an hour, the groundbreaking ceremony will begin, and the entire town of Tarynville will be there. The ceremony must be well-prepared."

What he said to Hayden last night wasn't just talk; they wanted to make it grand.

"Yes!"

Tyler said proudly, "That jerk Fergus still thinks he can make us submit tonight. Let's see how we'll embarrass him,, hahaha!"
