Chapter 38 Falling for Him
When Fergus finished speaking, he once again became the center of attention. Everyone's eyes grew more puzzled; how did he know?
"Shut up!"
Logan was about to lose it, his eyes bloodshot. Finding snakes would've been better; those could be removed. But termites were different; they would eat away at the structure.
Especially with wooden structures; the damage could be enormous!
This place was supposed to build up a residential area. Who wouldn't have wooden furniture at home? Moreover, it'd make potential buyers question the solidity of the houses. How could they sell them?
He snarled, "Even if I don't develop this land and just abandon it, I still won't sell it to you. Give up!"
Fergus smiled slightly, not bothering to respond.
Hayden was also furious. If it were at the beginning, it would've been okay since he was prepared to lose money. However, the state was planning to invest heavily here, and he thought he could make a profit. Now, seeing this, he couldn't accept.
He thought for a moment and said, "Pick another spot. I don't believe it can be this coincidental!"
"Yes, pick another spot!" Logan nodded heavily and looked at Walter angrily, "Can you do it or not? If not, get lost!"
At this point, he didn't care about respecting Walter.
Walter was sweating. This was the first time in his life he had encountered such a strange situation. He said with difficulty, "Yes, of course, I can. The next spot will definitely work!"
As he spoke, he quickly picked up the cross and walked 100 feet away this time.
"At this sacred site, where life takes flight, as we uncover the ground, blessings abound, longevity and grace, in this space, residents embrace, a life of health and peace."
Logan and Hayden quickly started digging.
After just one shovel, hundreds of centipedes crawled out of the hole, scattering in all directions.
There were screams everywhere, and the crowd scattered. Instantly, a third of the people had left.
"This... this is impossible!" Walter was utterly confused. He had chosen the right spots, and although there was some exaggeration, it shouldn't be this way.
"Eighty thousand dollars!"
Fergus said calmly.
Logan snarled, "I don't believe in this nonsense today. Pick another spot!"
Walter picked another spot.
After two shovels, countless toads jumped out, looking extremely terrifying with venom oozing from their bodies.
"Seventy thousand!"
Logan couldn't control himself and shouted, staring at Walter, "You useless piece of trash, what good are you? I'll pick the spot myself!"
He picked up the shovel and randomly chose a spot.
One shovel down, and a dense mass of scorpions crawled out from below.
This time, not just Logan.
Even the people around were breaking down.
"What kind of place is this? If there are more poisonous animals like geckos, how can we develop it? How can people live here?"
"Do you think termites aren't poisonous? Termites are more dangerous than geckos. This place is cursed!"
"Let's go before we get bitten!"
The crowd dispersed again.
"This... how is this possible? Why is this happening?" Logan stared blankly at the ground, on the verge of breaking down.
The news would definitely go viral; once it did, no matter how cheap or how well-developed the land was, who would dare to buy it?
Even if the surrounding facilities were perfect, no one would dare to buy it!
Swish!
Hayden looked at Fergus, frantically saying, "It's you, isn't it? You did all this. You set us up!"
He was the most suspicious.
Fergus casually took out a bank card. "Stop talking nonsense. Will you sell this land for sixty thousand? This is already a high price. If you wait any longer, it will be even cheaper."
The surroundings fell silent. This land, not to mention sixty thousand dollars, even one thousand dollars seemed expensive. With all the poisonous creatures, nothing could be done. It couldn't even be turned into a public restroom; no one would dare to come!
"You..."
Hayden almost spat blood in anger. Sixty thousand? He had invested a hundred million dollars in this land, and before it was excavated, it was worth at least five hundred million!
Selling it for sixty thousand was too much of a devaluation.
Logan, enraged and humiliated, picked up the shovel and walked forward, shouting, "I'm going to kill you, you jerk!"
Fergus sneered, but before he could respond, Violet suddenly stepped forward and said coldly, "If you dare touch him, I'll destroy your entire family. Don't believe me? Try it!"
Gah!
Logan stopped in his tracks. He looked down on Fergus but didn't dare underestimate Violet. She was the heir of the Gray family.
He said in despair, "Ms. Gray, I don't understand why you protect him and choose him as a partner. In what way is Tyler not a thousand times better than him?"
Violet said indifferently, "Your son was trampled by a horse."
Logan's gaze grew even more venomous.
She withdrew her gaze and smiled, "The ceremony is over. Fergus, let's go."
Fergus thought for a moment and asked, "Will you sell it for fifty thousand? Soon it will be forty thousand."
Logan was so angry that he fainted.
On the way back.
"Did you do all that?" She asked with a smile, her eyes twinkling like stars.
Fergus felt she had changed, not the Violet he knew before. Now, she seemed more like the girl next door. Actually, he still preferred the previous her, whom he could occasionally glance at...
He laughed, "Guess?"
Sarah, who was driving, coughed twice and rolled her eyes through the mirror. He actually dared to make Violet guess. Had he forgotten he was just an employee?
She said, "Ms. Gray, you should keep your promise. Fergus didn't get the land, so he should leave voluntarily!"
Sarah thought, 'He must be kicked out. Such a small fry doesn't deserve to be around Ms. Gary.'
Violet's face immediately turned cold. "You saw the situation. This land has no value. Do you want me to lose money?"
Sarah's face tightened, and she was left speechless.
"It's okay, the bet is still on. They will soon beg me to take the land." Fergus said casually.
If he didn't get the land, he couldn't win people's respect.
"Fergus?" Violet looked puzzled. She had already helped him solve the problem. Why was he still looking for trouble?
"You said it yourself. A gentleman's words are hard to pursue once the horses have bolted!" Sarah pushed further.
He smiled at Violet. "I'm not doing this to bet with her. I want you to do something and not marry that fool."
He wanted to help her achieve something quickly so she could choose following her heart. Of course, if she chose him then, he'd take her to break off his engagements with his other six fiancées. If she didn't choose him, he'd just break it off with her as well as the other engagements.
Violet blushed and said softly, "It's so nice to have you around."
Fergus stunned, 'Nice?'
Hearing this word, he suddenly remembered something he hadn't done. Violet's horoscope was quite rough, and he could help her improve it a bit!
However, many things couldn't be gathered for now. He could first give her a cross pendant!
"Stop the car. I need to go out for a bit."
"Huh?" She was stunned. She thought he'd say something else, but he said to stop the car.
Violet thought, 'Was I too direct?'
Sarah quickly stopped the car and let Fergus out. After he left, she tentatively asked, "Ms. Gray, you didn't fall for him, do you?"
Violet turned her head to the side and said coldly, "Drive!"
