Chapter 41 Digging a Grave in Person

The two men, upon hearing the order, started yanking her even rougher.

"Let go of me, let go of me! You'll pay for this!" Mary Cooper cried, struggling with all her might. However, she was too weak against them.

She then looked at Fergus and Xavier, tearfully pleading, "Don't come here, Treasure Pavilion is a scam, they cheat people out of their money and dignity!"

Fergus frowned slightly upon hearing this.

Xavier looked completely astonished.

Before the two could speak, the young man noticed Xavier, clasped his hands together, and smiled, "I didn't know Mr. Quinn was visiting! Please come in. Your timing is perfect."

He then looked at Mary coldly and said, "This is Mr. Quinn, the underground big boss of Tarynville and a valued guest of Treasure Pavilion. If you dare to speak nonsense again, I won't hesitate to have him silence you forever!"

Everyone in Tarynville knew the name of Xavier Quinn.

Mary was so frightened that she immediately shut up, not even daring to struggle as she could only cry through gritted teeth.

Xavier casually asked, "Kyle Lopez, what's going on?"

Kyle Lopez, the man in front of them, was Nathan Smith's direct disciple.

Kyle replied, "Just a woman trying to extort us. She wanted to blackmail me; if she keeps screaming, I'll have to trouble Mr. Quinn to deal with her."

After that, he gave Mary a threatening look.

"It's not like that," Mary blurted out. "Mr. Quinn, my family has an heirloom ebony piece. Recently, my husband's condition worsened, and we urgently needed money. I thought if I had it carved here, it could sell for a good price."

"When I brought it here, he swapped the ebony. To get it back, I had sleep with him."

"But he still won't return my ebony!"

Upon hearing this.

Xavier's face turned grim. Every industry had its rules, and Kyle bullying a woman was unacceptable.

Kyle, enraged and humiliated, walked straight toward Mary. "How dare you slander me, I'll cripple you!"

He raised his fist to strike.

If the punch landed, it would at least knock Mary unconscious.

Swish!

Before the punch could land, Fergus suddenly intervened, firmly grabbing Kyle's wrist. He wouldn't help just anyone, but he could smell the strong scent of medicine on Mary, indicating she had been caring for a sick person for a long time.

This was enough for him to step in.

Fergus calmly said, "Let's get the facts straight before resorting to violence. The truth can't be faked, and lies can't become the truth."

Kyle was stunned, trying to pull his arm back. However, he couldn't move it no matter what and angrily said, "You jerk, you think you can play the hero?"

"Mr. Quinn, what does he mean? Is he going to beat me?"

Xavier's face tightened. Everyone knew he was the underground big boss of Tarynville, but it wasn't an easy title to hold. Moreover, there were many people he couldn't offend, like the one in front of him.

Nathan had extensive connections.

If things got out of hand, he might not win.

Mr. Quinn quickly reminded, "Kyle, watch your tone. This is... Mr. Yost, Ms. Gray's partner!"

Fergus's identity was well-known, and revealing it could ease the tense.

"Mr. Yost?"

Kyle was taken aback, then smiled, "I see, so it's Mr. Yost."

He smiled, but his eyes were full of disdain. Just a worker, not worth paying attention to! He said indifferently, "Mr. Yost, since Ms. Gray values you, you must not be blind. Can't you see she's lying?"

"No, I'm not!" Mary took the opportunity to break free, kneeling on the ground and pleading, "Mr. Yost, if I'm lying even a little, then let hell take me after I die! Please, help me!"

"If I can't get the money back, my husband will die. Please, Mr. Yost."

After speaking, she kept kowtowing on the ground, her head making loud thuds.

"Fuck!"

Kyle Lopez's eyes flashed with a cold light, about to kick her.

Bang!

Just as he lifted his foot, Fergus was faster, kicking Kyle's calf accurately. With just a bit of force, Kyle stumbled sideways, his calf going numb.

Kyle, enraged and humiliated, said, "You, a mere follower relying on Ms. Gray, dare to strike me twice? Do you think I'm being too lenient?"

"Do you believe I can kill you with just one word?"

Xavier's face changed, and he nervously said, "It's a ,isunderstanding, misunderstanding!"

He whispered, "Mr. Yost, Treasure Pavilion has connections..."

"Their connections mean nothing to me," Fergus interrupted, then looked at Kyle, "Return her ebony and pay $800,000 in compensation."

"Otherwise, I'll take down your Treasure Pavilion's sign today!"

As soon as he finished speaking.

"Who dares to ruin my Treasure Pavilion's name!"

A voice came from the door. An old man with silver hair, wearing a traditional Chinese outfit, walked in, coughing twice as he did. It was Nathan.

"Nathan!"

"Mr. Smith!"

Everyone in the store greeted him.

Kyle limped over and complained first, "Mr. Smith, this woman is slandering me, and Mr. Yost is hitting and threatening me without knowing the truth. You have to stand up for me!"

Nathan nodded before looking at Xavier and Fergus, saying coldly, "Mr. Quinn, you're quite bold. Don't forget, that person is coming back soon. I suggest you think about how to save your own life!"

Xavier was left speechless. That person was a nightmare.

Nathan then looked at Fergus, warning. "Are you Ms. Gray's partner? Young man, it's fine to be arrogant when you reach the top instantly, but you need to know your place. If you overstep, it could ruin your life!"

"Based on what you just said, I should not let you off lightly!"

"But for Ms. Gray's sake, stand outside Treasure Pavilion and bow in apology, then leave."

Nathan spoke softly but with authority.

Kyle sneered, "You think you're someone, but you're just an easy ant in Mr. Smith's eyes!"

Another group of people entered the door, all there to see Nathan.

"Is he Fergus? A small-timer who got lucky and now thinks he's invincible."

"He dares to cause trouble at Nathan's place? Doesn't he know his own status?"

"Hurry up and apologize outside, or Nathan will have Ms. Gray fire you!"

Xavier was sweating profusely; he couldn't afford to offend Nathan, either.

Seeing his expression, Fergus sneered, "Old bastard, aren't you going to ask what happened?"

"What did you say?"

"Daring to insult Nathan, you must have a death wish!"

Nathan's face also turned grim, saying in a low tone, "Shameless scoundrel, how dare you speak so arrogantly and disrespectfully in front of me. Let me tell you, I'm not Ms. Gray; I have no obligation to tolerate you!"

"Kneel and apologize at the door immediately, or don't blame me for showing no mercy!"

Nathan knew Kyle well; he couldn't have done such a thing.

Fergus, now angry, said, "No wonder you carve such worthless junk. Not only are you old and blind, but you're also morally corrupt. Fortunately, I don't feel like talking anymore."

"You can forget about keeping your sign!"

As he said that, he leaped up, grabbed the 13-foot "Treasure Pavilion" sign, and yanked it down hard.

Crash!

The sign fell to the ground, splitting in the middle and raising a cloud of dust.

The entire room was shocked, unable to believe what they had just seen.

This was no different from digging up Nathan's family grave.

Moreover, Fergus had done it right in front of him!
