Chapter 99 Perfect for Violet

Paul was left speechless by that line. Grand Masters were supposed to have morals, but Fergus? Not a shred!

The place went dead silent.

Everyone was stunned. Fergus was being a total jerk, beating Paul over and over. But honestly, Paul kinda had it coming for being so reckless.

"Get him!" Colin's face twisted with rage. He couldn't let this chance slip away. The folks from Treasure Pavilion were top-tier fighters. He'd have them take down Fergus, and then he'd finish Fergus off himself.

He added, "Captain Jenkins, they're together. We need to take them both down!"

Other young guys chimed in. "Yeah, they're together, Captain Jenkins. My dad buys stuff from Treasure Pavilion all the time. You can't just stand by!"

"Captain Jenkins, if you help us get revenge, I'll be a regular customer at Treasure Pavilion more often."

Hearing this, Captain Jenkins made up his mind. These two were strangers, but Colin and his friends were well-known scions in Golden Valley City. Befriending them could be useful later.

With a wave of his hand, he ordered, "Take them down first!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Fergus waved his hand and calmly said, "Bite them!"

He'd let Paul handle it; no need to waste his own energy.

Paul was speechless.

He felt utterly hopeless and suddenly regretted seeking revenge on Xavier. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have run into Fergus!

Fergus slapped him again. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up! Do you want them to hit me? I can guarantee that before they hit me, I'll kill you first!"

Captain Jenkins was also stunned, confused by the situation. Was this an internal conflict?

But seeing more and more customers gathering around, he ordered, "What are you all standing around for? Get them!"

"Stop!" Paul gritted his teeth and finally understood. After this group, there would be another. If he didn't die at Fergus's hands today, he'd die at Treasure Pavilion's.

With no other choice, he had to bring up his mentor.

Stiffly, he continued, "I am Master Dusk's apprentice. Who dares to hit me!"

As soon as he said this, everyone around was shocked. Master Dusk was a household name in Mountain State, ranked sixth among Grand Masters in the state. Last year, he even defeated the fifth-ranked Grand Master from Silvervale State, bringing great honor to Mountain State!

He was a hero for the Mountain State people!

And this person, beaten beyond recognition, was Master Dusk's apprentice?

"What?" Colin exclaimed. He had heard of Master Dusk, a high and mighty figure. How could Master Dusk's apprentice be here, getting beaten by Fergus?

The other scions were also trembling with fear. They had been fighting with Paul? Were they courting death?

"Stop!" Captain Jenkins trembled, his eyes filled with astonishment. Cautiously, he asked, "Are you really Master Dusk's disciple? How can you prove it?"

He couldn't just take Paul's word for it; he needed evidence.

"Evidence?" Paul, enraged, flashed in front of Captain Jenkins and slapped him three steps back, shouting, "Is this evidence enough??"

Captain Jenkins was terrified, unable to see how Paul had moved.

He uttered, "It's enough. Please, come in!"

Paul snorted coldly, turned, and prepared to enter. He had just taken two steps, Fergus slapped him again, laughing, "Well done, here's your reward!"

With that, he turned and entered Treasure Pavilion first.

Paul, almost bursting with rage, didn't dare to run and could only follow behind.

Seeing the two enter, the outside became chaotic. The crowd talked about the matter.

"He really is Master Dusk's apprentice. He's so fast. Our Mountain State Combat World has a bright future!"

"I can't believe I cursed Master Dusk's apprentice earlier. How dumb was that?"

"Who is that guy anyway?"

Everyone turned to Colin, the one who started all this mess. Even Captain Jenkins looked over, cautiously asking, "Mr. Lawson, who is Mr. Yost? Why would he enjoy beating up Master Dusk's apprentice?"

Seeing their eager eyes, Colin was so mad he could explode. He couldn't believe Fergus had any connection to Master Dusk. Furious, he spat out, "Fergus is nothing. I can tell you, that guy is just a lousy worker, a scoundrel."

"Shut up!" Captain Jenkins snapped, "Mr. Lawson, show some respect. Don't slander Mr. Yost, or you'll bring trouble on yourself!"

Fergus could easily beat Paul; how could he be as worthless as Colin said?

People around also sneered.

"You deserved to be beaten. Turns out you have a foul mouth."

"I even asked Mr. Yost to apologize to you earlier. I was narrow-minded."

"You deserved every bit of that beating."

The guy who had been beaten earlier also rushed up, pointing at Colin and cursing, "You can't take a loss. You're not even as good as me!"

Colin, eyes rolling back in anger, fainted.

At the auction site, Fergus had already taken a seat with Paul.

The place was like a cinema, with the auction stage at the front and the seating arranged in tiers so everyone could see the items on stage. At the back were several floating private boxes.

The rooms had one-way glass, making it impossible to see inside.

"I heard someone is in the private boxes today!"

"Looks like there will be some valuable items up for auction today, attracting the box guests. If I remember correctly, the last time Treasure Pavilion opened the boxes was half a year ago, right?"

"Yeah, I heard a high-ranking official from the state came last time. This time, they should be even more prestigious."

People were buzzing.

Fergus didn't care about any of this. He just wanted to get the Night Pearl and return to Tarynville to help Violet change her fate. Otherwise, who knew what else might happen to her?

After waiting for about ten more minutes, the lights suddenly dimmed, leaving only the front area lit up.

Then, the sound of high heels clicked.

A tall woman walked onto the stage from the side. She was wearing an evening dress that showed off her curves perfectly. She was tall, with a perfect figure.

As soon as she appeared, almost all the men's eyes widened, nearly popping out of their sockets.

The women were envious and jealous.

Someone exclaimed. "It's Jennifer Morgan!"

"Jennifer is here. Tonight's auction must be special. Jennifer has been managing Treasure Pavilion for five years and hasn't personally acted as an auctioneer in all that time!"

"Even if there are no good items tonight, just seeing Jennifer is worth it!"

Amidst the chatter, Jennifer walked to the auction stage. She wasn't as beautiful as Violet, but she was still a beauty, especially with a very alluring smile.

She smiled and spoke, "Thanks to everyone for taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit Treasure Pavilion. I know you're not here to see me but to bid on treasures, so I'll keep it short. The auction officially begins."

"The first item is a brand-new tiara for a princess's wedding. Due to special circumstances, it hasn't oxidized and is in mint condition. The starting bid is fifty million dollars!" As Jennifer finished speaking, a woman brought the tiara onto the stage.

Fergus's eyes lit up. It was a good item, perfect for Violet!
