Chapter 32 Take It Back

"You're back?"

Fergus had just walked into Sky Palace when he heard a voice.

He looked up and saw Violet on the sofa. She wasn't in her usual silk pajamas; instead, she wore sportswear with her hair in a ponytail.

She looked like a lively college student, almost resembling a different person!

"Perfect timing, dinner's ready. If we don't eat soon, it'll get cold," Violet said, standing up with a smile.

Fergus could barely recognize her. Was this really Violet? Wasn't she supposed to be seducing him?

"Come on, why are you just standing there? Do you think my cooking's bad?" She urged when she saw him hesitate.

Her face turned a bit red, and her eyes a bit insecure as if afraid he wouldn't eat.

"I'm coming!"

He sat down and looked at the four dishes and a soup on the table. He sniffed but didn't detect any strange smell, which puzzled him even more. How had she changed so much?

He felt a bit empty inside.

She handed him a piece of fried chicken wing. "Try this, it's my specialty. Is it good?"

She looked at him expectantly.

Fergus took a bite and nodded. "It's good; it melts in my mouth."

He paused and asked in surprise, "Did you spend the whole afternoon cooking?"

She was the famous Ms. Gray, who had come to Tarynville to invest, shaking the whole town. It was hard to believe she spent the afternoon cooking.

Violet felt a small sense of pride at his compliment. "I've loved cooking since I was little, and I started on my own at a very young age. Back then..."

Her expression became a bit uncomfortable, and she quickly changed the subject. "Do you know how to cook?"

Fergus laughed. "Yes, before I turned eighteen, Master used to make me cook, do laundry, and brew wine for him. Basically, I did all the chores."

He recalled those days with gritted teeth. Master was clearly exploiting him.

"Master?"

She blinked, remembering Fergus had mentioned Master before. She asked curiously, "What happened after you turned eighteen?"

He laughed. "He couldn't beat me anymore, so I made him do the chores for me. If he didn't obey, I'd torment him until he did."

Recalling those times, he smiled. His relationship with Master was both teacher and friend, with no hierarchy.

"Haha."

Violet was amused and became even more curious. "You must've had a great relationship. Can you tell me what you learned from him?"

She put down her chopsticks, looking like a student eager to learn.

"I learned everything: medicine, martial arts, astrology, tarot reading."

"Astrology? You can read astrology?" Her eyes widened with excitement. "Can you read my future?"

She eagerly awaited the reading.

Fergus looked at her seriously. As he gazed at her smiling face, he suddenly froze, as if seeing her for the first time. Previously, he had been focused on other parts of her.

Her skin was smooth and fair, her eyes clear like a lake, while her nose was delicate and high. Moreover, her lips perfectly shaped, and her face was like an egg.

Without makeup, she was as pure as a lotus in clear water.

She also noticed his unusual gaze. Her cheeks turned as red as the evening sky, and despite her eyes becoming evasive, she stubbornly maintained eye contact.

She didn't know why, but her heart was pounding as Fergus looked at her.

In a soft voice, she asked, "Did you see... did you see anything?"

Fergus snapped out of it and refocused on her. He furrowed his brow slightly. To most people, she was a classic beauty.

Using the astrology knowledge Master taught him, he quickly calculated her star chart based on her birth date.

According to the chart, her life was full of hardships!

With Pluto and Mars in the 8th house, her life would be filled with challenges and major changes.

Fergus was stunned. Her star chart wasn't great!

"How is it? Don't scare me."

Seeing him silent, she smiled and said, "You can't say it's bad. If you do, it means you're wrong. I feel very happy right now!"

Fergus gave an awkward smile.

He always thought astrology was mostly fake. He never expected to see it play out right in front of him.

She was displeased. "What are you laughing at? Do you think I'm lying? It's true; I feel very happy right now. Don't you want to know why?"

"Why?" Fergus asked.

"Because I met you!" She blurted out.

Her face turned red again, but she stubbornly stared at Fergus.

Fergus was stunned. Her words had a different tone than before, but he couldn't pinpoint what was wrong. Just as he was about to respond—

Ding dong!

The doorbell rang.

"I'll get the door," He said.

Hearing this, Violet's face showed a hint of disappointment. She stood up and said, "No, I'll go."

She opened the door first.

Sarah walked in and saw Fergus eating. She glared at him fiercely and then said, "Ms. Gray, I just got news that the state is going to develop Plot 140, and they will invest heavily."

"The value of that land will multiply!"

"It's all because of Fergus that we didn't get that land. I suggest we fire him!"

She had thought about it all afternoon. Although Fergus had unique insights in business, he couldn't be a partner. He had been to prison, which would affect Violet's reputation. He had to go.

Violet's face darkened. She had come to Tarynville to prove her abilities to her family. Plot 140 was a great opportunity, and Uncle Frank had given her the information.

However, she was a bit late.

Calmly, she said, "I know. You can go back now."

Since it was already gone, she didn't need to dwell on it. Uncle Samuel had also given her information about pharmaceuticals.

"Ms. Gray!"

Sarah said discontentedly, "This is Fergus's responsibility. Are you not going to hold him accountable? I also got news that Logan is at Westside Manor in Hayden's villa."

"If nothing goes wrong, they are discussing how to develop Plot 140!"

"Both of them have grudges against Fergus. If they join forces against us, how can the company develop? This concerns your entire future!"

"Shut up!"

Violet's face turned ugly. She knew about the grudges between Hayden, Logan, and Fergus, but she chose him, so she'd support him unconditionally. "I said, I know. I will find a way to make up for losing Plot 140."

At this moment.

Fergus suddenly said, "Do you want Plot 140?"

Violet turned her head in surprise.

Sarah said discontentedly, "Of course we want it. It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, the land would be Ms. Gray's. You have to take responsibility!"

"No problem."

He stood up and said, "If you want it, I'll get it back. It's very simple."
