Chapter 96 He Ran Away

If he could solve this with action, there was no need to waste words.

No point wasting time on small fry. This was a piece of cake for Fergus.

Paul, totally blank, stared at Fergus like he was seeing a demon. He'd waited, endured, and trained hard for ten years for this day, but he couldn't even see how Fergus moved before he was taken down in one hit!

How was he supposed to get his revenge now?

Xavier was just as shocked. He feared Paul because of what happened ten years ago, and most people didn't know the full story.

Back then, Paul not only escaped from being surrounded by two hundred people but also killed over forty of them!

Xavier always had this deep-seated fear of Paul, but seeing Fergus in action reminded him that he was working for Fergus. And Fergus was a big deal, someone who had the Guardian of Illumination's full respect!

Suddenly, Xavier felt a rush of excitement. Fergus could solve a lot of problems!

His ten-year-old nemesis was no match for Fergus!

"Speak up. Well, your neck's being squeezed," Fergus didn't want to kill anyone and casually tossed Paul aside.

Paul's body hit the wall with a dull thud and slid down. He quickly got up and asked in terror, "Who are you?"

A master of this level definitely wouldn't be Xavier's lackey; Xavier couldn't afford it.

Fergus couldn't be bothered to respond and looked at Xavier, asking, "What are you standing there for? Paul wants to kill you. Hurry up and get someone to deal with him. Are you waiting for him to kill you before calling for help?"

For peace and quiet, Fergus wanted Xavier to hurry up and kill Paul.

Xavier nodded repeatedly. Being next to Fergus felt so safe that he almost forgot Paul was a mortal enemy.

He quickly took out his phone to call for help.

Seeing this, Paul didn't hesitate for a moment. Knowing he wasn't a match for Fergus, let alone with more people coming, he quickly got up and ran.

Seeing this, Fergus picked up a toothpick from the fruit plate and casually flicked it.

It accurately pierced Paul's calf, the entire toothpick embedded!

Paul stumbled and fell to the ground. Looking at his calf, he exclaimed in horror, "You can hurt me with a flying needle? You're a Grand Master! This is impossible. How can there be such a young Grand Master!"

Hearing this, Fergus asked in surprise, "What's a Grand Master?"

Paul was speechless.

Xavier was also stunned. Mr. Yost didn't know what a Grand Master was?

He then cautiously explained, "Mr. Yost, a Grand Master is recognized as a top master in the Combat World. The top eight in Silvervale State's Combat World are all Grand Masters. Currently, there are only these eight Grand Masters in the entire Silvervale State!"

Fergus nodded and urged, "Hurry up and get someone to kill Paul. He's annoying."

He had only asked about the Grand Master in passing and didn't want to know more.

"Wait!" Paul quickly spoke, sweating profusely in fear. At this moment, he was finally scared. He had thought that even if he couldn't beat Fergus, he could escape. He didn't expect to encounter a Grand Master!

In front of a Grand Master, there was no chance of escape.

Gritting his teeth, Paul said, "You can't kill me. My mentor is Master Dusk. If you dare to kill me, he will never let it go!"

"What?" Xavier was so scared that he almost stood up from his wheelchair. Master Dusk was the sixth-ranked Grand Master in the neighboring Mountain State. Every year, Mountain State and Silvervale State had a Combat World exchange.

It was said that last year, Master Dusk defeated the fifth-ranked Master Dawn in Silvervale State!

In other words, in the entire Silvervale State, there were no more than five people who could stop Master Dawn!

"Is Master Dusk very powerful?" Fergus asked casually.

"Of course!" Xavier nodded. "In Silvervale State, there are no more than five people who can beat Master Dusk!"

"Let him come, I'll kill him for you," Fergus replied casually, "You just focus on finding the Night Pearl, the sooner the better."

Xavier had never heard of a Grand Master, but just now, using only a fraction of his strength, Paul mistook him for one. Maybe Grand Masters weren't all that powerful after all.

Xavier kept his mouth shut.

A hint of mockery flashed in Paul's eyes. Fergus was so young and cocky, saying whatever he wanted. His mentor had been a big name in the Grand Master world for eighteen years, and no one had ever dared to claim they could take down him. This guy didn't know his limits.

Paul's eyes lit up as he tentatively asked, "Are you looking for the Night Pearl? From what I know, there's an auction tonight at the Treasure Pavilion in Golden Valley City, and one of the items is a Night Pearl. It used to belong to a former queen, it's as big as an egg, and in excellent condition!"

"Really?" Fergus immediately perked up.

Now, he only needed the Night Pearl. What a coincidence.

"Absolutely. I have an invitation at my place in Golden Valley City. You just need to take the invitation to get in!" Paul responded, a gleam in his eye.

The auction was real, and the Night Pearl was real too. But his mentor was in Golden Valley City!

"Take me there immediately," Fergus didn't want to wait a moment longer and quickly got up.

"Mr. Yost, be careful of a trap!" Xavier quickly reminded him. How could it be such a coincidence that Paul just happened to know about the Night Pearl? It sounded fishy.

"It doesn't matter. If it's a trap, I'll just kill Paul and his master to eliminate future troubles." Fergus replied succinctly, carrying Paul like a small chicken as he left.

As Fergus left Tarynville, the entire town buzzed with the news that Fergus had fled!

The whole place was in an uproar.

No one expected that the arrogant Fergus from last night would be running for his life today!

Thomas was furious, almost bursting with rage. He had already brought in killerss from the State Capital, but just missed catching Fergus by a step!

"Jessica, the reason I called you here today is to tell you that the material supply for Plot 140 is no longer needed from the Henderson Group. I'm unilaterally terminating the contract!" Tyler, hearing that he had become a partner, eagerly came to work. The first thing he did was call Jessica over!

"Mr. Shaw, you can't terminate the contract. This is a unilateral breach!" Jessica clenched her fists. Although she hated Tyler deeply and last night's events were still fresh in her mind, she dared not show her anger and had to pretend she didn't know.

Tyler raised an eyebrow and sneered, "I'm reneging. Now I'm Ms. Gray's partner. Fergus has fled. What can you do about it?"

He used power while he had it, or it went to waste. His first target was to pressure Jessica!

Jessica bit her lip and uttered with difficulty, "Mr. Shaw, to supply materials for Plot 140, the Henderson Group signed contracts with many factories. If you don't use the materials now, the Henderson Group will be in a tough spot. You have to be reasonable."

The Henderson Group's factories couldn't supply enough on their own. To secure the contract, they had partnered with other factories. If they didn't supply Plot 140, their cash flow would break, leading to a dead end.

Tyler spoke flippantly, "A woman like you wants me to be reasonable? If you don't agree, hit me."

Tyler paused, squinting with a smile, "Bitch, the fact that you're sitting here is a favor from me, and you still dare to talk about reason?"

Thinking about his own injuries, Tyler's anger flared. If he weren't seriously injured, he would kill Jessica right now!

Jessica felt a bit panicked under his gaze.

She braced herself and spoke, "Mr. Shaw, I beg you not to terminate the contract."

Tyler sneered, stood up, adjusted his suit, and said arrogantly, "I'll give you one day. By this time tomorrow, come to me in a nurse's outfit, and the contract continues. Otherwise, the contract is terminated! I have to go to Westside Manor now. Get out."
