Chapter 121 An Important Guest
Everyone was left speechless once again.
Nobody saw it coming—Mr. Shaw was so blunt. But it made sense. Tyler and Fergus were sworn enemies, so Tyler treating Jessica like this was par for the course.
The crowd watched with mocking eyes.
"Mr. Shaw, you called me here to talk about the supply contract," Jessica managed to say, her voice raspy.
Tyler smirked, "Yeah, I did. But who says we can't discuss it while you're on your knees? Do I need a reason to make you kneel?"
His tone was dripping with arrogance, like he was toying with her.
No one thought Tyler was out of line; instead, they egged him on.
"Jessica, get on your knees! Don't keep Mr. Shaw waiting!"
"Kneeling before Mr. Shaw is an honor. What's your problem?"
"Hurry up, or I'll slap you myself!"
Everyone wanted to suck up to Tyler.
Jessica clenched her teeth. She had her doubts about coming here, but since Twilight Ridge Estate was a public place, she figured it was safe. She didn't expect Tyler to humiliate her like this.
She asked, "Mr. Shaw, I'll kneel, but if I do, will you continue the supply contract?"
Compared to her family, kneeling was a small price to pay.
Tyler laughed arrogantly, "You think you can negotiate with me? If you don't kneel, you can leave now. But the deal between Henderson Group and Gray Group is off! And good luck getting those past payments!"
"No!" Jessica's face went pale.
If they couldn't work together, Henderson Group might go bankrupt.
She pleaded, "Mr. Shaw, we have a contract that outlines the payment schedule. You can't just ignore it!"
Jessica stopped, realizing that if Tyler refused to pay, Henderson Group had no way to enforce it.
She dropped to her knees, choking up, "Mr. Shaw, please continue to work with Henderson Group!"
Tyler felt a rush of power, loving every second of it.
He sneered, "Sure, we can talk. But first, crawl over here and kneel at my feet!"
He wasn't going to agree just because she knelt. This was just the beginning; he found it more interesting to savor this slowly.
Seeing his smug smile, Jessica felt like her heart was being ripped apart. She thought of Fergus, that jerk who always left her to clean up his messes!
If it weren't for Fergus, she wouldn't be in this mess.
Jessica felt a wave of bitterness. It was just as well that Fergus had run away. What could he do if he stayed? He'd just suffer more.
She gathered herself and said with difficulty, "Mr. Shaw, if I crawl over, will we continue to work together?"
Tyler's eyes flared with anger. "How dare you question me?"
The crowd started hurling insults again.
"Wretch, since Mr. Shaw told you to crawl, you should've crawled!"
"If I were you, I'd be crawling already!"
"Hurry up, don't make me hit you!"
Tears welled up in Jessica's eyes. She wanted to resist but had no strength. Given the situation, she had no choice but to follow Tyler's demands and hope for a slim chance.
She slowly crawled to Tyler and asked in a trembling voice, "Mr. Shaw, is this okay?"
Seeing Jessica's pitiful and defeated look, Tyler felt even more satisfied. He wanted to take her right there but remembered his own condition.
He yanked Jessica's hair and sneered, "You obedient wretch. But guess what? I'm still not gonna cooperate with you, and I sure as hell won't pay you. This is the price you pay for being Fergus's woman! How does that feel? Angry yet?"
The crowd erupted in laughter.
"Mr. Shaw!" Jessica's face twisted in despair, tears streaming down uncontrollably. She broke down. "How can you do this? I knelt and crawled just like you asked. Please, show some mercy and give me a way out!"
Begging was all Jessica could do because Tyler held all the power in Tarynville now.
"No way!" Tyler snapped. "Fergus has humiliated me too many times. How can I let him off? Not only will Fergus suffer, but everyone around him will too!"
He continued, "Wretch, do you know why I'm not screwing you right now? Because I want to humiliate you in front of Fergus! I called you here today to use you as bait, to make Fergus beg me!"
He shouted at the waiter nearby, "Get over here!"
The waiter quickly ran over, drawing everyone's attention.
The waiter asked, "Mr. Shaw, what can I do for you?"
Tyler spoke arrogantly, "Tell Scarlett to come see me. Tell her I have a big deal to discuss with her!"
Hearing this, the entire Twilight Ridge Estate fell silent.
Everyone gasped. If they remembered correctly, this was the first time someone dared to shout Scarlett's name in public!
Tyler didn't think much of it.
Was there anyone in Tarynville more important than him now?
The waiter shivered but, considering Tyler's status, weakly asked, "Mr. Shaw, can you tell me how big the deal is?"
Tyler said firmly, "To kill Fergus!"
Instantly, the bar became even quieter.
Mr. Shaw was openly declaring his intent to kill Fergus!
Everyone knew Fergus was skilled in combat, but against Twilight Ridge Estate, he stood little chance. But wasn't Fergus supposed to have fled?
Tyler looked down at Jessica and sneered, "Wretch, FYI, Fergus had the audacity to return to Tarynville. This is his death sentence! And you, you're the bait!"
Jessica was stunned, even forgetting to cry. She hadn't heard the news.
Did Fergus really come back, and he actually dared to return?
Tyler stood up, still holding Jessica's hair, and yanked her off the ground.
Jessica screamed in pain.
Tyler dragged her to the railing, standing before everyone, and ordered, "Everyone, take out your phones. Take pictures and post them on Facebook. Send them to Fergus! Tell Fergus his woman is in my hands. If he has the guts, come to Twilight Ridge Estate!"
This was the main reason he called Jessica here. If Fergus came to save her, Scarlett could capture him, saving a lot of time.
"Let me go, let me go!" Jessica struggled with all her might but couldn't break free, tears streaming down her face.
Everyone took out their phones to take pictures.
Tyler tightened his grip and angrily demanded the waiter, "Go get Scarlett to see me. What are you waiting for?"
The waiter was about to move when the manager below, sweating profusely, replied, "Mr. Shaw, Scarlett instructed us earlier that she was meeting an important guest and not to be disturbed."
Tyler, in his rage, exploded upon hearing this. "That's bullshit! Is there anyone in Tarynville more important than me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the door to the side of the stage suddenly opened.
Two figures walked in.
It was none other than Fergus and Scarlett!
