Chapter 117 Hypnotherapy
Everything else could wait. But in front of Violet, Tyler couldn't hog the spotlight!
Tyler wasn't scared at all, smirking as he watched. Even the Governor had to back down. Fergus? Just a pawn he could easily control!
In a low voice, Tyler ordered, "You think you can threaten me? You must have a death wish. Mr. Scott, handle him!"
A guy in camo, standing stiff as a board, walked in, face blank. "Mr. Shaw, watch your tone. I'm not your lackey!"
He turned to Fergus. "I know you. You're good in a fight, but it's all just show. Let's see what you got!"
He motioned with his hand, challenging him.
Tyler's face turned red with anger. A mere captain dared to defy him? Once he had Violet's full trust, he'd deal with him.
Fergus's face darkened, ready to throw down.
"Stop!" Violet, fighting through the pain, spoke up, her face pale, "Everyone, leave. Fergus won't hurt me!"
Violet remembered their meeting at the villa but couldn't recall his face clearly. She felt Fergus was telling the truth and gritted her teeth, "Is there more? Tell me everything."
The more he said, the more she might remember.
Fergus frowned. "We've got a lot of history, but now's not the time. Let me ease your pain first, then we can talk."
He couldn't stand seeing Violet in pain any longer!
"Running out of lies, huh? Can't think of a plot twist?" Tyler sneered, walking forward, "Are you gonna say you secured Plot 140, got the Gray Group contract with Ironclad Defense, and even claim you and Ms. Gray are a couple?"
He continued, "Fergus, if it's about making up stories, I'm better than you. But as a partner, I'd never lie to Ms. Gray! You're just a scumbag who'd say anything to get close to her, no morals at all!"
Finishing his rant, he moved closer to Violet, "Ms. Gray, Fergus is a liar. Don't believe him. If he were a good guy, why did the Governor leave without backing him up?"
Violet, sweating from the pain, looked at Fergus, finding it odd. Frank clearly had something to say but left without saying it.
For the first time, Fergus felt disgusted by someone like Tyler. He squinted and said, "Tyler, ever thought about how you'll die when Violet gets her memory back?"
He wanted to kill Tyler right then, but that would only upset Violet more.
"I think you should be the one worrying!" Tyler sneered, "You're a fraud. When Ms. Gray remembers, she'll come after you first. Me? I'm just a partner, nothing to worry about! Fergus, if you can find one person to back up your story, I'll walk out and get hit by a car. Deal?"
Fergus stayed silent because no one would dare testify!
"Enough!" Violet said slowly, feeling that Fergus were lying. She had given him a chance, but he couldn't even make up a decent lie!
She continued, "Everyone, step back. Fergus, you too. Dr. Reed, let's get started!"
The young guy who came with Tyler, standing at the door, shook his head. "Ms. Gray, if you trust me, let me be your only doctor; if not, find someone else. Letting Fergus speak is an insult to my profession! So, you'd better find another doctor. I refuse to treat you."
Violet really wanted her memory back. She had this gut feeling that what she couldn't remember was super important. On Thomas and the others' advice, she decided to try hypnotherapy. Dr. Reed was the hypnosis expert!
Feeling a bit awkward, Violet said, "Dr. Reed, don't be mad. It's just that..."
"No need to explain!" Dr. Reed cut her off, raising his hand arrogantly. "I don't care how rich or powerful you are. To me, you're just another patient. And I have my principles, which you don't meet."
He added, "If it weren't for the head of the Zimmerman Family introducing you and Mr. Shaw visiting three times, I wouldn't have agreed to treat you! Since you trust Fergus, I'm out!"
With that, he turned to leave.
Violet quickly got up from the sofa and looked at Tyler. "Mr. Shaw, stop him!"
Yesterday's session had made her feel so much better, and she wanted to keep going.
Tyler raised an eyebrow, feeling a rush of pride. Dr. Reed wasn't just a hypnosis expert; he was also subtly making Violet trust Tyler more during their sessions. And it seemed to be working!
Violet's attitude towards him today was way better than yesterday.
He quickly said, "Dr. Reed, please don't be upset. Everyone gets fooled sometimes. Give Ms. Gray another chance. I believe she'll meet your expectations this time!"
Dr. Reed paused.
Tyler turned to Violet. "Ms. Gray, Dr. Reed is upset because of Fergus. Should we ask him to leave and never come back?"
As long as Fergus was out of the picture, Tyler had plenty of ways to deal with him.
Violet thought for a moment, then looked at Fergus and said sternly, "You should go. I won't hold it against you, but please don't come looking for me again!"
Fergus didn't budge, seriously saying, "Violet, you're not sick. Anyone claiming to treat you is a fraud. And when it comes to medical skills, no one is better than me!"
Dr. Reed snapped, "You probably don't know my credentials. I have a five-year scholarship from Polaris Medical School, a PhD in psychiatry, and I'm an associate professor at Lumina's top private hospital. And you think you're better than me?"
Tyler laughed. He knew Fergus was good with medicine, but expertise was specialized. Dr. Reed's focus was hypnosis, and he was famous for it!
With contempt, he said, "Ms. Gray, as you can see, this shameless guy will say anything. He's already resorting to any means to get close to you!"
He turned to Fergus, "Fergus, do you even know what hypnotherapy and hypnosis are?"
Fergus calmly replied, "I don't know what hypnosis is, but he's definitely not better than me!"
"Stop talking nonsense!" Dr. Reed was even more furious, snarling, "You don't even know what hypnosis is, yet you dare to boast in front of me? Do you believe I can hypnotize you and show you the power of hypnosis?"
Hearing this, Tyler's eyes suddenly lit up. Fergus didn't know what hypnosis was, so why not take advantage of that?
He quickly interrupted, "Dr. Reed, Ms. Gray, why not give Fergus a chance to see what hypnosis is? Let him know there are many capable people in this world, so he won't come back to deceive anyone."
Violet thought for a moment and nodded.
Seeing this, Dr. Reed quickly took out a pocket watch from his pocket, walked up to Fergus, and sneered, "Since you're asking for it, I won't hold back. Fergus, stare at the pocket watch!"
He slowly swung the pocket watch in front of Fergus's eyes.
