Chapter 66 Everyone Started to Stir

At this point, John had no choice but to bring up his family to muster some courage.

The crowd went nuts when they heard Fergus still wanted to kill John.

"He's lost it! Mr. Zimmerman is the only heir of the Zimmerman family, the third most powerful family in the state!"

"This guy's gotta be crazy. If anything happens to Mr. Zimmerman, Taryville's in for a disaster!"

"Ms. Gray, stop Fergus! You can't let him go on like this!"

Logan's face went pale. If Fergus really killed John, he'd probably kill him too. He quickly said, "Fergus, calm down. It's not worth it over Xavier. You've already killed two people; do you really want to keep making mistakes?"

Hayden, all worked up, said, "Ms. Gray, you have to stop Fergus. If you don't, it'll be too late!"

"Fergus!" Violet finally spoke, struggling. Deep down, she supported Fergus in everything, but killing John was too big of a deal, even for her.

She said reluctantly, "Can you not kill John? If you do, I might get called back to Capital City immediately, and we might never see each other again."

What Violet said was true. Coming to Tarynville was already because of family drama. If she didn't achieve anything here and ended up killing the heir of a subsidiary family, she'd definitely be called back.

Hearing this, Fergus hesitated for a moment. "Fine, I won't kill John!"

As soon as he said this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As long as John was okay, things were still under control. It seemed Fergus wasn't stupid; he knew who he couldn't mess with!

John immediately regained his confidence and said, "I'll get my revenge for today's humiliation, Fergus. Just you wait!"

After saying that, he quickly left.

John was truly scared. If he stayed any longer, what if Fergus went crazy again?

Better to leave now and find another chance for revenge.

"Stop!" Fergus suddenly said, "I said I wouldn't kill you, but I didn't say I'd let you go. Did I give you permission to leave?"

John might escape death, but he couldn't escape punishment.

John froze, trembling all over. He knew Fergus listened to Violet, so he looked directly at her and gritted his teeth. "Ms. Gray, will you let me go? Do you know the consequences if you don't?"

Violet was in a tough spot. Letting John go would be a huge injustice for Fergus while not letting John go would make things very serious.

Violet didn't know how to respond.

"Violet, I'll take all the consequences myself!" Fergus said slowly, then walked straight up to John.

John was so scared his hair stood on end, but he forced himself to say, "I'll remind you one more time, I'm the sole heir of the Zimmerman family, a member of a top family in the state. If you touch me, not even Ms. Gray can protect you!"

He hoped to scare Fergus.

"The Zimmerman family means nothing to me!" Fergus said calmly, and as he spoke, he kicked out.

Everyone clearly heard a cracking sound.

Then they saw John's lower leg being kicked and broken.

John fell to the ground, screaming, his face twisted in pain, "I'll kill you, I'll kill you!"

"Mr. Zimmerman!" Logan and Hayden were completely stunned. Fergus really dared to lay hands on John. This was going to cause a huge uproar.

Tyler was also scared and started screaming, his eyes full of terror.

"Already screaming?" Fergus said calmly, "This is just the beginning!"

As he spoke, Fergus moved swiftly.

Three more cracking sounds echoed through the room.

John's lower leg and both arms were shattered.

His screams grew louder, piercing everyone's ears.

Seeing this, no one dared to speak. Just moments ago, they had tried to stop and comfort him, but now they even began to hold their breath. Fergus was a complete madman, and he was ruthless!

"I was wrong, I was wrong, don't kill me, don't kill me. You can have anything you want, just don't kill me!" John wailed in fear, feeling closer to death than ever before, no longer daring to maintain his aloofness.

"Next, it's your turn!" Fergus didn't even look at John, turning his gaze back to Hayden and the others, sneering. "You just said I conspired with Mountain Shrine to take Sophia?"

Although he hadn't spoken while treating Xavier, it didn't mean he hadn't heard anything. They were utterly shameless.

"No, no!" Logan quickly waved his hand, frantically explaining, "Fergus, this was all Hayden's idea. Hayden wanted to pin the blame on you; it has nothing to do with me. It's all because my son was incompetent, unable to protect Sophia. You saved Sophia. According to my plan, the wedding should be canceled tonight, but Hayden insisted on not canceling it and wanted to blame you!"

At this moment, he could only shift the blame to someone else.

Tyler quickly added, "Yes, yes, Fergus, I didn't even want to marry Sophia. It was Hayden who insisted I marry her and said our two families should unite against you. It was all Hayden's idea!"

Hayden was dumbfounded, almost exploding with anger. "You two are utterly shameless!"

Logan immediately retorted, "If we're talking about shamelessness, who can compare to you? Hayden, let me ask you, did Fergus have a engagement with Sophia? Just because you looked down on Fergus, thinking he was a nobody with no background, you drove him away and wouldn't let Sophia marry him? If you weren't shameless, why did you break the engagement? Why didn't you let them get married? This was all your shameless idea!"

Hayden's mind was buzzing with anger. Clearly, it was their idea, but they shifted the blame to him. He wanted to explain but didn't know where to start.

The surrounding guests also understood the truth. So Fergus and Sophia really had a engagement? Fergus had never conspired with Mountain Shrine to take Sophia.

It was all Hayden who had spread rumors!

Violet bit her lip, feeling somewhat relieved.

"Stop shouting. It's just you three left. Line up; you're all going to die!" Fergus said slowly.

Logan and Tyler were dumbfounded.

But at this moment, lying on the ground, Xavier finally spoke, tears streaming down his face, "Mr. Yost, I'm grateful to you, but let it end here. It's not worth it for me; don't hurt them anymore."

Violet fully regained her composure, looking at John's miserable state on the ground, and said with difficulty, "Fergus, let's stop for today. This has already gone too far."

The current situation was already hard to manage. If Hayden and Logan were added to the mix, it would be even more unmanageable.

Fergus didn't want to let them go. To solve the problem, he naturally wanted to solve it once and for all, to eliminate future troubles. But with both Violet and Xavier speaking, he couldn't refuse.

He reined in his momentum and said slowly, "Fine, we'll stop for today."

He looked at Logan and Hayden, sneering. "You can continue with the wedding."

As he spoke, he picked up Xavier and left.

Violet thought for a moment and said, "You all, take care of yourselves!"

She also turned and left.

As soon as they walked out the door, everyone started to stir.
