Chapter 120 Kneel and Speak
In the backyard of Twilight Ridge Estate, Fergus slumped on a stone bench, looking pretty down. "What do you want from me?" he asked, sounding defeated.
He just couldn't wrap his head around why Violet still wanted him gone, even after he laid everything out for her.
To change Violet's fate, he needed her on his side, but earning her trust was proving to be a real uphill battle.
Scarlett, in her sleek black dress, was brewing coffee with utmost respect. She might be the most mysterious person in Tarynville, but even she wouldn't dare act up around Fergus. This guy could make the head of The Stevens Family drop to his knees.
Handing him the coffee, Scarlett smiled. "I heard you're having a rough time, so I thought you could use a break. We've got more than just bars and nightclubs here. There's a natural hot spring in the room. If you want to unwind, I can help you relax while you soak."
Ever since she saw Kevin kneel to Fergus, she'd been plotting, waiting for the right moment.
And now seemed perfect. Fergus was at his lowest, making him an easy target.
Fergus looked puzzled. "Is that it?"
He thought this was about Kevin; otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered coming. He was annoyed.
Seeing his reaction, Scarlett realized he didn't get her hint, so she spelled it out. "It might seem small to you, but it's a big deal to me. Today is just to get you familiar with the place. In the future, if you have free time, you can come here often to relax, and I'll always be around."
She gave him a look that was hard to miss.
She figured Fergus needed an outlet for his pent-up desires.
Fergus felt awkward. If he didn't get it now, he'd be an idiot. He shook his head. "Kevin's such a jerk.. He should pay more attention to you. It's obvious he's not giving you what you need."
Scarlett blushed. She was trying to seduce him, but Fergus was too blunt.
She forced a smile. "The head of The Stevens Family is getting old, and his health's been bad since he got out of prison."
Fergus shrugged. "Find someone else. I'm not interested. If there's nothing else, I'm leaving. By the way, I've heard of a method. If you're really uncomfortable, you can go to the market. It should help."
He got up to leave.
Scarlett felt awkward but pushed on. "You misunderstood. I'm not that kind of woman. I genuinely admire you."
Fergus had no intention of sticking around. "But I don't like you. I only like Violet."
Saying that made him a bit sad, and he gave a bitter smile. "But now, I can't even see Violet."
He needed to figure out a way to break the deadlock.
Scarlett watched him, biting her lip. He was young, handsome, capable, and devoted, which made him even more appealing.
She felt a pang of bitterness, knowing she wasn't good enough for Fergus.
Given that, she had to let go.
She tentatively asked, "Why can't you see her? Didn't you just come out of Sky Palace?"
Feeling stifled, Fergus recounted what happened at Sky Palace.
After hearing the whole story, Scarlett smiled. "You're too close to see it clearly. If I'm not wrong, Ms. Gray is already starting to suspect Tyler and is gradually believing you."
She continued, "Ms. Gray doesn't understand your capabilities and thinks you're just an ordinary guy, while the other side has some major players. So she pretends not to believe you to protect you."
Violet could run Twilight Ridge Estate on her own and keep it popular for years, not just with Kevin's backing but also because she'd got some serious skills.
Fergus stopped in his tracks, surprised. "Wait, are you saying Violet believes me?"
"Ms. Gray must have started to believe in you!" Scarlett paused and added, "Mr. Yost, if you trust me, I can make Ms. Gray believe in you quickly, and even restore your partnership!"
Fergus was overjoyed. "How?"
Seeing his excitement, Scarlett bit her lip. "Mr. Yost, how about this? You soak in the hot spring while I explain it to you."
Fergus thought for a moment. "Hot spring soak only. If you have any other ideas, I won't be polite!"
Scarlett's eyes lit up. "Alright!"
In the bar, business was booming as usual, no matter the time.
Crowds surged, lights flashed, and music blared!
Tyler walked in. After discussing strategies with his father, he couldn't wait to come here. He couldn't rest easy until Fergus was out of the picture.
"Mr. Shaw is here!"
"Mr. Shaw, long time no see. Do you remember me? I'm Mira. We met last year."
"Mr. Shaw, I'm the heir of Innovation Ark Group. Maybe we can cooperate in the future."
People swarmed around, eager to flatter him.
Tyler, full of arrogance, loved being the center of attention. As he walked, he replied, "Mira, I don't remember you. I've met too many girls, don't know you. Are you the heir of Innovation Ark Group? I think I've heard of your grandfather, but I don't know you."
He walked to a booth on the second floor, sat down with his legs crossed. As soon as he sat, many people came with drinks to toast him. He didn't need to order; the table was already full of drinks and fruit plates, all gifts from others!
The crowd asked him eagerly.
"Mr. Shaw, why are you alone? I brought some girls, maybe you'd like to meet them?"
"Mr. Shaw, may I sit here? I've admired you for a long time."
"Oh, I'm drunk, so dizzy," Mira was more direct, lying on the sofa, looking like she had passed out, ready to be taken advantage of.
Tyler's face grimmed, and he coldly spoke, "What's all the noise? Quiet down, you're annoying!"
Leaning back, he looked at the girl beside him, annoyed, "Stop pretending. I don't like your type. Get lost."
Mira trembled, awkwardly got up, and asked, "Mr. Shaw, what kind do you like? I can change to whatever you like."
Tyler coldly laughed, "I like married women!"
Everyone around was stunned, not expecting Tyler to have such a fetish.
At this moment, a girl in work attire walked into the bar.
Tyler saw her and squinted with a smile, "Here she comes!"
Everyone looked as they chatted.
"Is she Jessica Henderson?"
"She's the CEO type!"
"Mr. Shaw, as far as I know, Ms. Henderson isn't married yet."
Tyler smirked, "You don't know. Jessica was once Fergus's fiancée. Though not married, she counts as a married woman!"
According to the plan, Jessica should have gone to the office, but he came to Twilight Ridge Estate to negotiate with Scarlett, so he asked her to come here to save time.
Hearing this, everyone was shocked. It was said Sophia was Fergus's fiancée, and now Jessica too? What kind of charm did Fergus have?
Under everyone's gaze, Jessica walked up to Tyler, looking extremely haggard, having not slept all night.
Nervously, she uttered, "Mr. Shaw, I'm here!"
Tyler looked her up and down, secretly swallowing. Not only was she beautiful, but her figure was also curvy. Having sex with her would have been definitely enjoyable.
He pointed to the ground and instructed indifferently, "Kneel and speak!"
