Chapter 28 Relapse
'Did you really buy it?'
'Did you bring the contract?'
'Is it real or not?'
Everyone was thinking in disbelief.
"You jerk, are you trying to quit? How dare you team up with outsiders to trick me?" Max couldn't believe Fergus bought the hotel.
"Get that contract back, or you're fired!"
As the heir to Tarynville Hotel, Max knew these people well.
Sophia sighed in relief. Right, it must be fake. Fergus becoming Ms. Gray's partner attracted many flatterers, and maybe this employee was bribed.
But then Max's phone rang. "Dad? What's up? I'm at the hotel."
"You ungrateful bastard, who did you offend? Mr. Quinn has a gun to my head, forcing me to sell the hotel. Tarynville Hotel has changed hands!"
Max's father screamed on the other end.
"What?"
Max was stunned. "I didn't offend anyone. It was just..."
Before he could finish, Max realized Fergus had called Mr. Quinn!
Cold sweat poured down, and his face turned pale.
Another group arrived, led by the hotel manager, Wyatt.
Wyatt ran up to Fergus and respectfully said, "Mr. Yost, I'm Wyatt, the hotel manager. From now on, I will serve you wholeheartedly."
Seeing Wyatt, the surrounding diners trembled. If the legal department could be bribed, could the manager, too? So there was only one reason for this scene.
Fergus really bought the hotel!
"How... how is this possible?" Sophia was shocked completely. Even though it was happening right in front of her, she couldn't believe it. 'How could Violet support him so much, letting him do whatever he wanted?'
Plop!
Max's phone fell, and he realized he had underestimated Fergus.
He looked at Fergus with a hint of fear.
Fergus asked calmly, "Do you still want to put up that sign?"
Max's sweat poured down. "No, I'm so sorry."
Fergus smiled, "You don't dare, but I do. Wyatt, put up a sign at the hotel entrance: 'Max and idiots are not allowed inside!'"
Everyone looked at Max with sympathy.
"You... Don't go too far!" Max was furious.
"Say one more word, and I'll knock out all your teeth and make you crawl out like a dog." Fergus remained calm. "Get out!"
Max dared not speak, leaving in disgrace.
Seeing Max leave, Sophia gritted her teeth. "Fergus, have you thought about the consequences of using Violet's money for this?"
"If Violet kicks you out one day, you'll be in big trouble!"
Everyone thought the same. Ms. Gray might be rich, but could she really let Fergus do this? Sooner or later, Ms. Gray would get tired of him.
"The money is mine. The one thing I have is money," Fergus replied calmly. "Where's the stuff? Give it to me."
"No!"
Sophia stomped her foot in anger. For the first time, she was so angry she wanted to cry.
"Fergus, whether you like me or not, this is who I am, and I can't change!"
"I'm not living for you."
"Go ahead and be arrogant. Let's see how long you can keep it up. One day, you'll come begging to me!"
With that, she turned and left.
Fergus frowned. Her attitude didn't matter, but the item left by the Master hadn't been given to him yet, and she just left?
He figured there'd be another chance later, so he didn't chase after her.
Sophia went home and collapsed on the sofa.
"Sophia, how did it go?" Hayden asked, worried.
He'd been waiting at home for news, even skipping work.
"Do you even need to ask? Look at her face; that jerk bullied her," Linda snapped. "And you, making your daughter patch things up. Who does he think he is? Riding high now, but he'll end up a nobody!"
"No, I need to curse him out!"
Linda grabbed her phone to call Fergus.
Sensing Sophia's anger, Hayden felt heartbroken. Thinking Fergus might not hold his position, he didn't stop her.
The call connected, and Linda immediately said, "You jerk, how dare you bully Sophia? Do you really think having Ms. Gray... he hung up!"
Linda was furious and called again, but when the call wasn't answered, she sent a nasty text.
Hayden thought for a moment and said, "Sophia, this is my fault. Fergus isn't worth your trouble. From now on..."
He noticed something was wrong. Looking closer, he saw Sophia had fallen asleep. Because of her previous illness, Hayden nudged her, but there was no response.
He panicked. "Sophia, wake up!"
Sophia still didn't respond and kept sleeping soundly.
"Sophia!" Linda's face turned pale with fear. She shook Sophia and panicked, "Wasn't she cured? Why did she fall asleep again? That loser can't even fix this little issue!"
"I'll find him!"
Linda tried to contact Fergus again, only to find she had been blocked.
Hayden panicked. "I'll make the medicine!"
Quickly, he brought the previous medicine and gave it to Sophia, but there was no reaction.
"Fergus must have caused Sophia's relapse. I'll kill him!" Linda raged. "Let's find Tyler!"
At the Logan Group, Chairman's Office.
The phone rang incessantly.
Logan saw Hayden's name on the screen and sneered. "How dare he call me? Let him worry first!"
He stood up and respectfully said, "Walter, thank you for your efforts. This is a small token of appreciation."
He handed over a bank card.
"Alright."
Walter nodded mysteriously and took the card. "This time, the symptoms are the same as last time, but the underlying issue is different. Using the previous medicine won't wake her up."
Logan's mouth tightened. He knew what that meant and handed over another bank card. "This is also for you."
Walter was satisfied. "I'm tired today. I'm going to rest."
"Take care, Walter."
Logan and Tyler saw Walter off and returned to the office.
"Dad, when can I go save Sophia?" Tyler asked eagerly, thinking about making Sophia his woman.
"Don't rush. It's not our turn to be anxious, but the Johnson family." Logan sat back in his chair and smiled coldly. "Remember, always stay calm. If you go now, you'll be looked down upon."
"Wait until Hayden comes begging with money. Then we'll go. No rush, he will come by tonight at the latest!"
Tyler nodded. He didn't want to wait, the sooner the better.
Suddenly, he remembered another woman waiting for his attention.
"Dad, can I go out to meet a friend first? Don't worry, I'll come back as soon as you call."
Logan nodded.
Tyler quickly turned and left, sending a message to Jessica, telling her to go to the Tarynville Hotel immediately.
Jessica received the message, put down her work without a word, fixed her makeup in the mirror, and headed straight to the Tarynville Hotel.
