Chapter 101- Caught In The Act
I heard a knock on the door and told the person to come in as the door opened to reveal Hardin.
“ Oh handsome man you're here," Sasha said as she looked at Hardin.
" Miss Logan, good morning,” he greeted her, but she wouldn't take her eyes off him and for some reason I didn't like that.
“ Can you just call me Sasha instead of Miss Logan, it sounds weird," she complained,
“ Okay Sasha," he asked without arguing, but I've been getting him to call me just Ariana but he wouldn't.
“ How is he?" He asked as he turned to my grandpa who was asleep,
“ They say he's doing okay and just needs a lot of rest, he woke up but he didn't say anything, I don't know if I should be worried about that," I said,
" I'm sure it has something to do with the kidnapping, he needs to feel that he's somewhere safe again and then he'll start communicating with people,” I said and she nodded,
" I think you're right, he must have gone through a lot, I'm sure that once he gets better and recognizes his family he'll be alright,” I said,
“ Have you told your Mom and Mrs Miller?" He asked and I nodded,
“ They should be here anytime soon," I said and just on cue a knock came on the door before the door opened and Aunt Celia rushed into the room,
“ Dad," she called as she rushed to his side,
“ I can't believe you're here," she said as she held his hand looking at him affectionately.
I turned to look at my Mom and uncle Garry without saying anything,
“ We'll be outside," I said as I walked outside the door taking Sasha with me as Hardin followed.
“ Hey girl, I'd like to stay longer but I have a shoot starting in about two hours and I have to go," Sasha said,
“ It's okay, thank you for staying with me," I said as I hugged her and like always she started moving me from side to side.
“ It's okay,” I said as I pulled away with a smile,
" Can I borrow your car?” She asked,
" Sure thing,” I said,
" So handsome man, are you free this weekend? Let's hang out,” she asked as she looked up at Hardin with a smile and I don't know why the sight was stirring something in me.
" I'd like to go out with you Sasha but I have things planned out this weekend,” he said,
" Oh, okay, so maybe when you're not so busy you can fit me into your tight schedule,” she said and he chuckled,
" Maybe,” he said,
" Alright then, see you around,” she said as she went on her toes and kissed him on his cheeks and I watched as his hand went around her waist to hold her before he released her.
" Okay bye,” she said before running off,
" You seem to like my friend,” I said as soon as she disappeared,
" She's sweet and likable,” he said and I hummed,
" I have to make sure my grandpa is doing alright and in the right care before I leave, I and Sasha have been here all night,” I said,
" Sasha has been here with you all through the night?” Was that the only thing he heard?
" Yeah,” I said,
I left the hospital after I was convinced that my grandpa would be taken care of. Aunt Celia and my Mom said they were going to take care of him.
I was in the car with Hardin as he drove me back home to get ready for work.
He stopped the car outside the house as I stepped out of the car.
“ I'll just wait for you in the car," he said and I nodded as I made my way inside the house.
I don't know what was wrong with me but I didn't feel good about him going out with my friend, maybe I was just trying to protect my friend from him. Hardin might be a good man but I know how he is with women.
But I felt like I was lying to myself even as I thought that. Was that really the reason or I was just jealous?
Jealous? No way, I can't be jealous.
But I didn't like that he could easily call Sasha by her first name and wouldn't call me Ariana no matter how many times I've told him it was okay to call me by my first name.
You're his boss, that's why, he wants whatever relationship you two have to be professional.
But we've kissed, on two occasions.
That all happened because of the situation, we would never have kissed each other with our clear eyes,
I think I'm going crazy.
Instead of thinking too much I rid myself of any thought as I got under the shower to have a much needed shower.
My grandpa was found and I know that soon enough we would find the emerald eye and things would start falling in place.
When I finished my shower I got dressed in a black corporate dress that was just about my knees and then I tied my hair up in a ponytail as I took a red bag with red heels and then I walked out of my closet.
I walked out of my room as I headed to the door but when I walked out of the house Hardin wasn't in his car like he said he would.
Where did he go?
I looked around but I didn't see him.
“ Hardin," I called but I'd get any response, he wouldn't have gone far.
I started walking as I looked around for him when I spotted him with his phone to his ear and he seemed involved in an argument with someone.
I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I found myself walking to where he was.
“ Give me time is all I'm asking, I know but all I'm asking is for a little time,” he said. Time for what?
" Yes, as soon as I arrange everything I'll let you know, bye,” he said as he ended the call with a sigh,
" I already fucking regret this,” he said, he hadn't notice that I was standing right behind him.
" Hardin, is everything alright?” I asked and he stiffened before slowly turning to me.
