Chapter 77- My Angel

“ Uhm aside that Harrison, I called you because of the design you made, I liked it even before I knew we were connected in that way, you can get back to work, every other thing I need would be communicated to the internship supervisor, okay," I said and he nodded before standing up.

“ Alright Miss Miller," he said but I shook my head. Someone like him who knew me on such a level didn't need to do all those formalities with me.

“ You can call me Ariana you know,” I said to him with a smile but he shook his head.

" You're my boss and my number one superhero so I don't think I want to call you by your first name, so I'll just keep calling you Miss Miller,” he said and I couldn't help but chuckle. Me? Someone's superhero. That was unbelievable.

“ Alright, whatever name you feel comfortable calling me that's okay by me," I said and he nodded.

“ Alright, see you around Harrison," I said as I stood up and stretched my hand for a handshake but surprisingly he walked around my table and opened his arms asking for permission for a hug and without a second thought I hugged him.

“ Thank you so much," he whispered before pulling away.

“ It's okay," I said even though I still couldn't remember why he was so grateful to me.

“ I'll get back to work, Miss Miller," he said and I nodded before he made his way out of my office.

I sat back on my chair with a sigh as I recalled everything that just happened.

The way Harrison looked at me like I was some kind of Angel sent from heaven for him was surprising. I decided to call the internship supervisor for his price.

“ Hello, please can you send every information concerning Harrison Grey to my office. My assistant would forward it to me, thank you," I said to the lady.

“ Okay ma'am, I'll do just that," she said before I ended the call.

I got back to work but each time my mind kept going back to Harrison and the story he just told me.

I was still working when a knock came on my door and I immediately knew it was Hardin, maybe there was a special way he knocked and I became used to it. He always knocked at the door like he was unsure of knocking, like he was asking himself if he wanted to do it or just leave.

Was I much of a bad person? To think that someone was just seeing me as an angel while the only thing my assistant used to see me as is a witch, I don't know if he still sees me the same way.

“ Come in Hardin," I said as the door opened and he walked in holding some documents in his hand.

“ Hello Miss Miller, please can you go through this and sign for me," he said as he dropped the documents on my table.

" Alright, I'll go through it and sign," I said as I drew the documents closer so I could look at them.

“ Any news concerning the tattooed lady?" I asked.

“ Nothing yet, she hasn't been captured but they're trying everything possible to make sure that they get her," he said and I nodded.

“ That's fine, I just hope that it happens sooner so we can have one thing off our chest,” I asked.

" Me too, I just hope we can just take care of it before it gets to the public or…” he stopped himself but I already knew what he was about to say. ‘ before Mr Miller hears about it’ Mr Miller that was nowhere to be found.

I quickly removed my mind from that thought. Thinking about my grandpa always makes an unexplainable sadness fill me and that wasn't good for my mental health.

“ Everything would work out," I said with a shrug like I was trying to convince myself instead of my assistant.

“ Yeah, oh, before I forget," my assistant suddenly said as I came out of my thoughts and turned my attention to him.

“ Yes, what is it?" I asked.

“ We got an invitation to attend a fashion show this weekend, I don't know if we'll be able to go with everything that's happening," he said but I shook my head.

“ We have to go, we can't let things happening around us stop us from striving and showing our faces with our heads held high, so tell them we'll be there," I said and he nodded.

“ Okay, I would do that," he said.

" Is that all?” I asked.

" For now, yes,” he said.

" Alright that's fine,” I said.

" Okay,” he said before he gave a light bow and walked out of my office.

The day went by in a blur and soon it was time to go home.

I shutdown my computer as I got up from the chair with a stretch. I've been sitting for so long.

I took my jacket as I adjusted my hair and wore it and then I took my bag and walked out of my office, the same time my assistant was walking out of his.

“ You're ready to leave?" He asked and I nodded as we both started making our way to the elevator.

We got into the elevator and he pressed the button for the ground floor as the elevator started going down.

The elevator was still going down when the lights suddenly started flickering and I looked up in confusion. What's going on?

The lights flickered again before it stopped and then suddenly the lights went off as the elevator shook but before I could fall I felt someone hold me, my assistant.

The lights came back on and I saw the position we were in. Him holding my waist stopping me from falling as I was bending in a dip position like we were in some sort of dance. I quickly straightened myself.

“ Sorry," I said.

“Not your fault, I'm sure something…” the lights went off again. Why the hell was this looking like something out of a horror movie?

" What's going on?” I asked when I suddenly felt that the elevator wasn't going down anymore.

" I don't know, I think…I think the elevator just stopped working,"

“ What?!"
