Chapter 177- Let's Date
ARIANA'S POV
The car stopped in front of the house and I sighed. I felt so frustrated with everything that was happening around me. Well, grandpa did a good job holding the company for such a long time. It isn't an easy job being the head of a company.
I turned to Hardin with a smile. “Thank you for the ride," I said as my hand went to the door to open it but he stopped me.
“We need to talk," he said,
" About what?” I asked.
“About us, for some reason I feel things aren't okay between us, you know…after what happened that morning," he said and I turned to the window without even noticing.
“We're not in a relationship, Hardin, I don't have control over what you do, I can't decide…” I stopped what I was going to say when I felt him lift my hand to his lips.
“But we can be, we can be something. You're a little bit cranky but that can be managed," he said and I couldn't help but chuckle.
“Stop messing around," I said as I tried pulling my hand from his but he wouldn't let go.
“I'm not joking around here, we've done enough cat and mouse, it's time we try," he said and I turned to him in shock. The look in his eyes didn't look like he was joking but could I buy it? This could all be an act.
What if he was just looking for a distraction, something to get his mind off the fact that he was still in love with Claudia?
“ I don't think it's a good…” he pulled me to him and I gasped and before I could say anything, his lips landed on mine hot and demanding.
His tongue tangled with mine as he weaved his fingers through my hair and I couldn't help the moan that escaped my mouth.
I felt myself begin to throb between my legs and I knew that if we didn't stop I wasn't going to be having any sleep. But it was hard when he tasted so good. How would I pull away when the man of my wet dreams for so long was savoring my lips?
He finally pulled away and I gasped breathing for air.
“ If we don't try, we'll never know, I know the connection is there and we've just been stubborn," the truth was he was the stubborn one, I've told him how I felt but he thought I was drunk and didn't take me seriously.
“So you're saying we should date? Just like that? Didn't you say…”
" Can you just stop overthinking Ariana? I know what I said but I'm saying this now, let's give us a chance, I…I need you,” he said with a type of vulnerability I couldn't understand.
“Did you hit your head?" I asked and he chuckled with a shake of his head.
“No, I just realized that I can't keep lying to myself and besides I remember…you told me you've liked me for a long time,” he said and I became speechless and embarrassed.
Now it sounds like I was desperate.
" You…you didn't believe me,"
“Truth is, I was in denial, I just wanted to believe that you were drunk and I've been forcing myself to believe that,” he said. I blinked, not really knowing what to say until I finally found my voice.
" You're being serious right now?” I asked and he smiled as he moved closer to me and he was just inches away from my lips.
“Dead serious," he whispered and I couldn't help but feel butterflies in the pit of my stomach.
“What does this mean for us now?" I asked, wanting to hear it straight from his mouth. My heart was thudding so fast in my chest, with my ears patiently waiting to hear those words from him.
Those words that might change our lives.
“This means you're mine and I am yours."
