Chapter 135- Arresting The Culprit

Hardin took the documents as he looked through it and then passed it to the next person and they kept passing it as I calmly had my eyes still locked on the culprit.

He knew there was no escape for him, he was caught with nowhere to go.

“ This is a lot of money and it has your signature," one of them said in bewilderment.

“ Now will you still call me a liar and a little girl?" I asked him,

“ You bitch!" he snapped and before anyone could understand what he wanted to do he ran out of the room.

Hardin stood up and was about to follow him but I stopped him,

“ Don't bother," I said and he looked at me in confusion.

“ He's getting away,” he said, but I shook my head and told him to sit down and he obeyed.

Just then the board meeting door opened and the criminal was pushed back in by two police officers,

“ Now listen up everybody, this is a warning to anyone who might be doing anything against this company in secret, know that your evil deeds cannot be hidden forever and when I do find anyone who is stealing from us or planning any evil against us, you're a surely going to pay, well, thank you ladies and gentlemen, the meeting is now dismissed,” I said as I stood up,

" Officers please take him away, he'll face the law for his crimes,” I said,

" You bitch, how dare you?! You dare do this to me?!” He still had the audacity to say as he was being dragged out,

" I didn't do anything to you, you did it to yourself, if you were a just man you won't be in handcuffs, excuse me,” I said as I walked away from him,

Anybody, I mean anybody, I don't care who you are, if you're against my family, I am against you.

I walked into my office with Hardin following behind me as he closed the door. I couldn't describe the form of satisfaction I felt when that man was handcuffed and taken away.

“ I'm so shocked something like this happened without me finding out," I heard Hardin say from behind me and I turned,

“ It's not your fault Hardin, you can't be everywhere, you're my assistant and you review the financial budgets before bringing it to me to sign and before I sign I also review them, he's just a criminal and has been embezzling money so he should pay for it, he's the head of finance for God's sake,” I said,

" He's been stealing a lot of money, it's a good thing you caught him,” he said,

" Yeah, I'm…"

“ That was quite impressive," I suddenly heard Uncle Garry's voice and I couldn't help but roll my eyes,

“ I'll be in my office," Hardin said before he walked out of my office,

“ What do you want, Uncle Garry?" I asked as I walked to my chair and sat down, a chair he desperately wanted,

“ There's nothing wrong if I congratulate you for that wonderful show you put there," he said,

“ That was not a show, maybe it would be when I start picking all of you out for your evil deeds," I said and he chuckled,

" Well, Miss CEO, I've got things to take care of, just don't go looking for things that would put you in trouble,” he said as he did a mock salute before walking out of my office and I glared at where he was standing in anger.

Asshole.

I'm not scared of him or anyone.

HARDIN'S POV

It's unbelievable how someone the company trusted so much was responsible for something like that.

If Miss Miller hadn't gone back to check the financial reports he would have continued stealing from the company.

With what just happened, it was evident that there were more people like him that were stealing from the company and we didn't know.

The ringing of my phone broke out of my thoughts and I picked it to see it was a call from my boss.

“ Yes Miss Miller," I said,

“ Please come to my office Hardin," she said before the call ended,

I got up from my chair as I walked to her office and knocked,

“ Come in Hardin," her voice said from inside,

“ You sent to me Miss Miller," I said,

“ Yes, a client of ours just opened a new bakery and she'd like me to try out some of her baking. She prepared something for me and I'd like you to pick them," she said,

“ Oh, okay, what's the address?" I asked,

“ I'll send it to you, it's Miss Morgan, oh and nice bracelet by the way," she said as my eyes went to the bracelet I saw in the package, the roadmap to my past.

“ Thank you, should I go pick them up now?" I asked,

“ Yes please, thank you Hardin," she said and I smiled before walking out of her office.

I got into the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor as I patiently waited for it to reach.

When I reached the ground floor I walked out of the company and got into my car as I drove to the location of the bakery.

It was a forty minute drive from the company.

I parked in front of the bakery as I stepped out and immediately my nose was filled with goodness.

The bakery, nestled on a cobblestone corner, exude warmth with its large windows framed in white shutters and the irresistible of fresh pastries wafting through the air. Inside, vintage Edison bulbs cast a soft glow over the wooden shelves filled with golden croissants, colorful macarons and beautifully crafted cake. It was beautiful.

After staring at the bakery from outside, I decided to walk in. I walked into the bakery and looked around but just as I turned I bumped into someone making everything the person was holding fall to the ground and then when our eyes met I felt my heart skip.

“ I'm…I…
