Chapter 92- Something Is Off
Instead of letting myself known, I decided to quietly hide behind a tall tree, I'm just hoping I can hear whatever they were saying.
I didn't want to come off as rude and disrespectful. I would have asked my grandpa to send them to another mansion. The fact that I see Uncle Garry here doesn't make me feel good at all and now he was talking to my mother, again.
“ Yeah, that's what I said you're not going to make me do anything, I love my daughter and I refuse to do anything that would put her in harm's way," she said and uncle Garry threw his head back and gave a dark laugh. I knew something was up, I knew he was threatening her, but what does he want her to do?
" Your daughter? Really? Your daughter?" He asked as he took a step towards my Mom and she took a step back, this isn't funny, something was telling me to just go out but another voice was telling me to wait a little.
“ Stop this Garry, whatever it is you're doing, stop it," my Mom said with a shake of her head,
" It's too late for that Monica, too late,” Monica? Why would he call my Mom Monica when that wasn't her name?
“ Stop, get away from me," she said as she took another step away from him,
" Don't you dare disobey me…" he snapped as he held her hand forcefully and I knew I had had enough of this.
“ Mom!" I announced myself like I haven't been there all along.
“ What do you want from my mother? Why won't you just leave her alone?" I asked in anger because he quickly removed his hand and moved back when he heard my voice.
The bastard. Like, where the hell did my aunt find this man?
“ Why do you think that I want something from your mother, Miss CEO?" He asked,
" Just go away, leave us alone,” I said,
" Fine, enjoy the rest of the evening,” he said before he gave my Mom a look that didn't quite sit well with me before he walked away.
“ Mom, are you okay?" I asked as I hugged her and her arms went around me tightly and she nodded.
“ Mom is he threatening you?" I asked and she shook her head, what is wrong with her? Why the hell would she stop covering for that man? Are they…no, I can't think that.
But why the hell does she always say no when I ask if he's threatening her?
“ Let's go inside Mom, dinner should be ready, whenever he calls you don't come out because the next time he does I'm going to call the cops, I don't care whatever aunt Celia says, in fact I need to talk her, she needs to warn her husband,” I said,
" No, you don't have to do that, he didn't do anything to me,” I was about to scream to her face that what the hell was wrong with her? But I controlled myself, I just saw her, I just saw her being almost harassed by him. I just had to stop because I didn't want to upset her further, but I'll definitely get to the bottom of this.
We went into the house as we both walked to the dining table, the maids were already getting everything set.
“ How was work today by the way?" She asked as she sat down before I sat down.
“ Was good," I said, that was an absolute lie.
“ Okay, let's eat," she said as she blessed God for the meal and then we started eating.
I could tell she wasn't herself by the way she was eating.
“ Mom, do you wanna talk about it, you don't look so happy," I said,
" I'm sorry dear, I don't mean to worry you, let's eat,” she said as she managed a smile.
I'm not going to sit here and let someone mistreat my Mom when I'm alive.
I didn't bother questioning her any further, we just had dinner in a not so comfortable silence.
When we were done eating I walked her to her room.
“ Honey, don't worry about me, it's really nothing," she said and I nodded, giving her a smile.
“ I'll be in my room," she said,
“ Okay Mom, goodnight in case we don't get to see each other before bedtime," I said and she smiled as she touched my cheek.
“ You know I love you right honey?" She asked and in response I hugged her,
“ I know you love me very much and I don't think I would have asked for a better Mom, you're so strong," I said as I heard her sniff so I pulled away from the hug.
“ Mom, why are you crying?" I asked worry clear on my face,
" It's nothing, I just love you so much and I don't know what I'll do if anyone takes you again, I can't bare it,” she said,
Again? Was this what Harrison was narrating to me?
I'd like to ask her some questions but I already know she was upset,
" It's okay Mom, nothing is going to happen to me, I promise,” I said as I kissed her cheek and she smiled before walking into her room.
I sighed before I started walking to my room but stopped when my eyes went to grandpa's study.
His favorite place, or his gaming room. I couldn't help but tear up. I felt I was going to have a heart attack today because I thought it was him.
God please, anywhere they have my grandpa please let them bring him back, safe, please.
I was about to walk to my room again but stopped myself as I found myself walking out of the house to the security quarters.
“ Miss Miller!" They all jumped as I opened the door and then I looked at all of them, one looked like he was sleeping before I walked in.
They'd think they don't get rest when in fact they do because they have shifts.
“ Get out," I commanded and they all looked at me like I was crazy or something.
“ But Miss Miller we're…”
" I said get out,” I said and they didn't wait for me to tell them twice, they all rushed out of the room.
This is just perfect, since they can't do their job, I'll do it for them.
