Chapter 19- Annoying Ex

“ I can't believe the audacity of that man," I groaned in anger as I opened the car door and got inside.

“ Drive me to my penthouse," I said to the driver and he immediately started the car and drove off.

He should have knocked, I've warned him, I've told him several times that he shouldn't barge into my office like he owns it, but he wouldn't listen.

I was taking my orange juice, my favorite juice actually when I choked and the juice spilled on me. I didn't expect that anyone would walk in, even if someone was to walk in I expected that they would knock.

The juice was just sticky on my skin so I had to clean it, and that was what I was doing when that insufferable bastard walked in.

I just don't want to think how long he must have been standing there staring at me like I was his meal. He thinks I'm one of those women that would look at his face and fall for him. He was crazy.

“ Turn the car around," I suddenly said to the driver.

" Take me home instead,” I needed to be near my mom especially since Uncle Garry has been hovering around her and I didn't like it.

The driver turned the car around heading for the mansion.

I leaned my head on the window and I just watched the building and trees as we drove past them.

In no time we got home as the driver drove into the mansion and parked in front of the house. I got out of the car and took my bag as I walked into the house.

I was about to walk into my room when I was stopped by one of the maids.

“ Miss Miller, Mr. Miller has been waiting for you, he wants you to join them for dinner," she said.

“ Oh, tell him I'll just change and join them shortly," I said and she nodded before walking away.

I walked to my room as I dropped my bag and walked into the shower to take a quick shower. When I was done I walked into my closet to quickly get dressed so I wouldn't keep them waiting.

When I was done I walked out of my room to the dining room.

“ Grandpa, mom, I'm sorry for…” I stopped whatever I wanted to say as I saw that there was someone else at the dining table, someone I didn't want to see.

" What are you doing here?” I asked with spite.

" Stop that Ariana, be nice, Alex here just came to say hi to me and I asked him to join us for dinner, come sit beside me,” My mom said as my eyes remained on my ex.

I don't understand why she was being nice to my ex, I told her I didn't like him, he was too arrogant and only cares about himself.

It was always about him, him and him and I couldn't be in that type of a relationship.

I grudgingly walked to my mom's side and sat down. I wanted that bastard to be out of my house but the only person saving him was my mom.

" Hi Grandpa,” I greeted as the maids started serving. It was annoying that he was sitting here like he was welcome when he wasn't, smiling and talking to the maid like he used to when we were dating.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes as I focused on my food.

They were involved in a conversation of some sort but I wasn't interested until the stupid ex decided to speak.

“ So I heard you were recently made the CEO of Miller's Cooperation?"

“ Is that what you came to confirm first hand?" I asked as I narrowed my eyes on him.

“ For God's sake Ariana stop with the attitude," my mom said.

Seriously, it's my fault.

“ Thank you for the food," I said as I got up, kissing my grandpa on the cheek before walking away.

“ Ariana," I heard my mom call but I didn't stop, she could adopt my ex as her new child for all I cared.

We could have had a nice peaceful dinner but that idiot had to come from nowhere.

Why are all the men I see in my life all scum? Well, except my grandpa.

I entered my room and made sure to lock the door as I walked into my closet to put on my night wear. It was a cold night so I decided to wear sweatpants and a shirt, couldn't be getting sick all in the name of looking sexy could I?

I climbed on my bed as I drew the blanket up my body and just when I was about to close my eyes a knock came on my door.

I knew it was my mom but I didn't say a word.

“ I know you're in there honey, let's talk please," She said from outside but I ignored her.

It was already late, she should go to bed. I heard her give a sigh before she said good night and walked away.

She's my Mom, she's supposed to support me not laugh with my ex like he's family or I was the one who didn't know how to keep a relationship when it was never my fault.

How can you have a boyfriend that the moment you're together he talks only about himself and all his accomplishments and the funny thing he never sees anything wrong with it.

Rather he says I'm being too dramatic.

I closed my eyes as I tried to get some sleep and thankfully in no time I fell asleep.

I was awoken by loud banging on my door that for a moment I thought the house was falling down. What is it? Why would they be knocking on my door like that?

With half opened, half asleep eyes I got up and walked to my door. As soon as I opened it I was greeted with a panicked face of Agnes.

“ Your mom, it's your mom,"
