Chapter 66- The News
" They've found something?" I asked as I quickly turned around the table to go see what she was talking about.
“ The officer said he has been trying to reach me but I was unreachable and I strictly warned him to report everything to me. I don't trust uncle Garry. I just checked for my messages on my computer and his message was what came up first, I'll just call him, call him for me please, God please let him be okay.” She said as she brought her hands together in worry.
I quickly brought out my phone and dialed the officer's number.
He picked on the second ring.
“ Officer Jack, my boss would like to speak to you,” I said as I passed the phone to my boss.

ARIANA'S POV
" Hello officer Jack, I'm sorry I was unreachable yesterday, something happened, I got your message, please what did you find?” I said.
" It's something we can't talk over the phone, when do you have time so we can meet and talk?" He asked.
“ I'm free for lunch," I said.
As much as what I wanted to do was rush out of this office and to go hear what he had to say, I had to stop myself, I had responsibilities and I didn't want anyone to go gossiping me everywhere. People were looking for the perfect opportunity.
“ Okay, that would be perfect, where would we meet?” He asked.
" My assistant would send you the address,” I said.
" Okay, see you later,” he said.
" Alright, bye,” as said before I ended the call and handed the phone back to my assistant.
“ Please pick somewhere secluded for lunch, I don't want any of those reporters following me and taking pictures around," I said.
The last thing I wanted was to be all over the news.

HARDIN'S POV
“ Okay Miss Miller," I said as I waited for her to sign the documents I brought yesterday before her fainting episode.
She signed the documents as I took them and walked out of her office.
I was also anxious for lunch, I couldn't wait to find out what information they had concerning Mr Miller's disappearance.
I got settled on my chair as I quickly made a reservation for lunch at a restaurant, then I got back to work. We still had a few minutes before our first meeting.
I know that all she wanted was to pick her bag and meet the officer as soon as possible. There were so many things going on right now and I know they were all too much for her.
Like we still haven't found the emerald eye, Mr Miller was still missing and last night Miss Miller would have been missing from the world forever.
I got busy with work until it was time for the first meeting of the day, I knew that today she wasn't going to remember and come out on time like she usually does so I took my tab and the things I'll be needing for the meeting as I walked to my boss's office but surprisingly when I reached her door and was about to knock, the door opened and she walked out the door ready for the meeting.
“ Let's go Hardin,” when the hell will she go back to calling me Mr Smith because her calling me Hardin felt like she was telling me to watch my back.
We got into the elevator and I pressed the button for the fifth floor where the meeting would be held.
“ So your best friend works here?” She asked and I nodded but when I turned to her she wasn't looking at me.
" Yes she does.” I said.
" Nice,” that was all she said and I was glad.
Believe me, I suddenly preferred the evil side of her. Because I know that her next move would be something evil but with the way she was acting I knew I would be getting surprise after surprise.
Like the way she was suddenly calling me Hardin.
The elevator finally reached the floor for the meeting and we both walked out as we headed to the meeting room.
As soon as we entered the meeting room everyone stood up.
“ Please sit," she said as she walked to the head chair and sat down while I sat down by her right side.
" So guys over to you, I need to know what you have done so far for the fashion show coming up, we can't afford any mistakes and I need nothing short of perfect.” she said.
“ Okay ma'am," the head of the committee said as she got up and walked to the screen.
“ So displayed here on the screen is the venue for the show, we decided to make it an open show rather than in closed walls, so what do you think? Let's start with this before we move forward,” The presenter said.
" Open space, hmm, that doesn't sound bad but I want perfect, wherever it would be has to be somewhere spectacular, what you're showing on the screen is good but we can do more, people are watching us, they want to talk about us, so if we're giving them something to talk about it should be something good. You understand?” she asked and the lady nodded.
“ Okay, go ahead,"
By the time the meeting ended I was surprised at the level of concentration my boss put into the meeting, I was thinking she'd be distracted with what was happening. I was impressed.
“ Okay everyone, so let's expect a perfect show in Las Vegas I'm counting on you all," she said as she stood up and everyone stood up.
" Thank you all,” she said before she walked out the meeting room and I followed behind her.
We didn't bother going back to our offices, we just walked straight to the elevator.
We got in as we pressed the button for the ground floor.
We were going to meet the officer, I could see how anxious my boss looked.
“ You have to calm down,” I said and she released a breath.
" I can't help it,” she said.
I don't know what it is the officer has to tell but whatever it is I hope it helps us find Mr Miller.
I just hope.
