Chapter 166- Kiss of Chaos
HARDIN'S POV
“ What did you just say?" she asked as she calmly laid back on her chair looking at me.
“ I said I'd like to…” she raised her hand stopping me.
" Incase you're forgetting something Hardin but there's a contract and if you need me to remind you, the contract states that you can't quit because you're my assistant, yeah,” she said and I just looked at her unable to speak,
What was wrong with me? What was I even thinking?
" I remember, I apologize,” I simply said because there was nothing else for me to say.
“ You're forgiven, get to work, I need you to arrange a meeting with Scar," she said but I shook my head and she looked at me in confusion.
“ I already took my hands off that case, I'd like to handle things that are only office related, please," I said and she sighed,
“ The emerald eye is office related and the sooner we get it from him the better it would be for us and we would be able to focus on other things, do you understand?" She asked and I nodded,
This wasn't how I expected our interaction to be.
“ I'll be in my office if you need anything," I said and she gave me a smile before I walked out of her office.
I walked into my office as I sat down running my fingers through my hair. My head felt like it was going to burst. Should I go back and apologize about what happened this morning? But it had nothing to do with work.
What happens in my life isn't her business, the only thing that concerns us is work and that's how it's going to be.
I pushed every negative thing in the far back of my mind as I tried to focus on my work, after all it was all I've ever known.
I was still working when I suddenly stopped and looked at my phone. I know I said I didn't want to get involved but isn't it better I just finish what I started?
With that in mind I took my phone and immediately dialed Scar's number. It rang severally and I almost thought he wasn't going to pick up until he did.
“ What do you want?" He asked rudely and I couldn't help but roll my eyes,
“ We have to meet Scar," I said,
“ My schedule is full," he said and I just shook my head.
I knew why he was doing all this, I'm sure he already knew why I was calling him.
“ I want it back," I said deciding to go straight to the point,
“ You do realize I paid a huge sum of money to attain it even before I found out who the real owners are right?” he asked and I sighed,
“ What can we do to get it back?” I asked,
" There's nothing, I paid for it and it's mine so get over it,”
" But…" the call ended before I could say any other thing,
“ Fuck!" I cursed in frustration,
If Scar was acting this way he knew that jewelry was priceless and wouldn't want to give it back.
This leaves us with only one option.
We have to steal it, but how?

ARIANA'S POV
“ I thought he was supposed to meet with us here, why is he taking so long?" I asked Hardin as I looked to the entrance of the cafe for the hundredth time.
We had a meeting with an investor and this was where he agreed to meet, why was he taking so long to get here?
“ He must have been held in traffic," Hardin said.
This particular man wasn't only about him being an investor, he was a big shot and I need him on my team. The Henry's were beginning to get on my nerves, they've been trying to top us but I wasn't going to let that happen. We've always come first and no matter how hard they've tried, they've always been the second.
My grandpa worked hard to reach that height and I wasn't going to let it get taken away from me.
I started to impatiently tap my feet when even after fifteen minutes he still wasn't here.
“ What's keeping him? It's becoming frustrating and annoying," I said as I tried so hard to remain composed.
" Calm down, He'll be here," Hardin said, there was just something that wasn't adding up, I was worried I'd have a repeat of what happened to Mrs Shawn.
“ What if something happened to him, call his assistant," I said but Hardin shook his head,
“ They might be in traffic and stressed out so let's wait a few more minutes," he said. He wasn't making sense to me at the moment but I didn't bother pushing further, I just agreed with him.
Just then Hardin's phone started ringing and my attention immediately turned to it,
“ It's his assistant," he said before picking the call,
“ Yes, this is her assistant––oh, thank you then,... It's alright, I'll convey the information to her, thank you once again," he said before the ended the call,
“ They canceled the meeting,"
" What?!” I asked in shock and that got a few stares from other people but I didn't care.
“ Calm down Miss Miller, something must have happened to make them cancel the meeting, maybe they'll reschedule," he said and I groaned,
" Fine, if you say so, but I can't believe I just wasted my time waiting here,” I said as I stood up,
“ Let's go, Hardin,” I said as we both made our way to the exit and then we walked out of the cafe.
“ Stupid,” I couldn't help but feel annoyed at the situation. I've been anticipating this meeting because it was important but now they had to cancel.
“ Thank you," I said to Hardin as he closed the car door and turned over to the driver's side as he got in.
I was still foaming in anger when my eyes suddenly went to the side mirror of the car and Immediately it felt like the whole world stopped when I saw him.
He was standing at a distance but I could recognize his face anywhere, it felt like he was staring straight at my soul and then he smirked, blowing me a kiss before walking away.
