Chapter 24- False Accusation
“ Why would anyone want to threaten me honey?" She asked as she was about to sit up but I held her shoulder to stop her as she rested back on the bed.
Agnes dropped the plate she was using to feed her as she excused us before quietly walking out of the room.
Wise decision.
“ I don't know Mom but it feels like you're hiding something from me, there's something you're not telling me, is it uncle Garry?" I asked but she shook her head.
Why was she trying to cover for that man?
“ Then tell me what it is that is bothering you, I'm your daughter and I want the best for you just like you want for me, please Mom, if there's anyone after your life please tell me Mom, please," I said.
“ There is no one baby," She said.
She leaves me no choice.
“ Mom the other day I…” I stopped myself, if she didn't want to tell me it's because she has a reason and I cannot force her.
“ What happened the other day?" She asked, looking curious.
“ Nothing, the other day when I went on a run I was just thinking about throwing grandpa a surprise party. You know he's turning sixty one next week and we haven't really celebrated his retirement, so we should just combine the two, what do you think?" how I love the way I think.
Where the hell did that come from? I knew my grandpa's birthday but I didn't know it was going to save me someday.
“ That's a good idea, marvelous," She said with a smile.
“ Yeah, I'll call my assistant to plan it since he knows the type of things grandpa likes," I can't believe I actually made my assistant sound like he was competent when he was not.
“ That's good," She said with a pleased smile.
“ I can't wait for you to be back on your feet, I miss when you're bubbly and happy,” I said.
" I'm sorry honey if I worry you, I just hope I get better soon so you wouldn't have to worry anymore,” She said as she placed her hand on my cheek.
" I know things will get better, you just have to have a little faith and everything will be alright.” I said as I bent to her and wrapped my hands around her with my head on her chest.
“ Everything would be fine my girl” she said as she ran her fingers through my hair.
I stayed with her until she fell asleep before I walked out of the room and told Agnes to keep watching her.
I walked out of the hospital as I got into the car. As I looked outside the window I saw a black van parked on the other side of the road. I quickly asked the driver to roll the windows up as I moved closer to the window to get a look at the van.
I had a feeling they were reporters looking for another juicy story or rather looking for something to make me look bad.
“ Drive me home," I said to the driver as he started the car and drove us out of the hospital.

HARDIN'S POV
It's been a week working with arrogant Ariana, and it has been the most awful week in all my years working at the Miller's Cooperation.
It was Friday and I was continually checking the time to know when it was time for me to go home. I just wished the time could move faster but it wouldn't. I couldn't wait to get out of here and I already had plans for the night with a few of my friends.
I got up from my chair as I walked to arrogant Ariana's office and knocked. She told me to come inside and I was surprised at how disarrayed her office looked.
“ Is there something you're looking for?" I asked but she didn't even acknowledge me as she kept searching shelves after shelves yet it looked like she wasn't finding the particular thing she was looking for.
“ If you can just tell me what you're looking for I'll be glad to help," I said, still I didn't get any answer.
“ Miss Miller," .
“ Shut up! Just shut! I'm trying to think," she snapped before she turned away from me and kept throwing things down.
What the hell was she looking for?
I needed her to sign this document but it looked like she wasn't in the mood so it was better if I just leave here to avoid trouble.
I turned and was about to walk out of her office.
“ Where are you going? Aren't you going to help me search?” She asked and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
Didn't I ask her what she was looking for so I could help her search, yet she told me to shut up.
“ At least tell me what you're looking for," I said.
“ Just check when you see it you'll know," She said and I looked at her dumbfounded, where have you heard something like that? You're looking for something and you don't even know what you're looking for.
“ It's not going to work like that Miss Miller, if you don't tell me what you're looking for how am I supposed to help you?" I asked and she turned to me in anger.
“ A drawing, I'm looking for my jewelry design. I drew it some days ago and I can't find it. Now you know, help me find it,” She said.
There were some questions I'd like to ask her like where she last saw the drawing and where she drew it but thinking of how stressful it was for her to tell me just what she was looking for I decided against it.
I started following her to search not even knowing where to start from. I looked through her desk and opened every file that was there but I didn't see anything resembling a jewelry design.
After following her to search for about thirty minutes we still came up with nothing. What if she mistakenly trash it, it wouldn't surprise me.
But with the determination in her eyes to find this design I doubt she would make the mistake of trashing it.
My eyes suddenly went to the printer and something just told me to check it.
I stood up from where I was squatting on the floor as I walked to the printer. I opened the machine and there was a piece of paper in it like someone was about to photocopy something and forgot it.
I took the paper and turned it and it was a drawing of a unique necklace. It looked very beautiful and elegant and to think that arrogant Ariana was the owners of this masterpiece.
“ I think I found what you're looking for,” I said as she turned to me then she quickly rushed to me.
“ I knew it, I knew you must have hidden it,"
“ What?!"
