Chapter 16- Caught In The Act

“ I don't know why you're suspicious of me, Miss Miller, when I'm only trying to be a good assistant," he said as we walked out of the elevator.

I didn't believe him, he was up to no good.

He had a broad smile, that alone was suspicious.

He opened my office door and I got in first then he entered. Immediately I looked at my office table. I stopped in my tracks as I turned to my assistant.

“ Mr. Smith, what the hell are those tons of documents doing on my table?" I asked as I folded my arms glaring at him and he just looked at me, the smile not leaving his face.

Instead of answering me he just walked to my table and dropped my bag. Like the table wasn't occupied enough.

“ Miss Miller, I'm just trying to be a good assistant to you, as you said, you're the new CEO and there were some things I might had done which is to your grandfather's liking and not to your liking, which is the reason why you gave me those documents, fine I accept them, but you do know that asking me to review those documents means you'd have to go over the ones Mr. Miller worked on, and as your dedicated and passionate assistant, I decided to bring all the documents Mr. Miller worked on, maybe, just maybe, he might have missed something then you can look over it, isn't that wonderful?” He asked as he looked at me like he expected me to say yeah that's wonderful.

Where did my grandpa find this guy again?

“ You want me to go over something my grandpa has already worked on? Why would I do that?" I asked.

“ Because as you said, he was the old CEO and you're the new CEO so maybe there are some changes you'd like to make,” he said with a shrug.

" Mr. Smith? I'm sure you have something going on in your head, get those documents off my table and get out of my office,” I said with a glare.

" As you say Miss Miller,” he said with a smile as he went to my table and started getting all the documents off my table and returning them back to their respective shelves.

God this man was annoying, what will I do with him?

When he was done he gave me a smile as he walked out of my office and my eyes followed him until the door shut.

I shook my head before I walked to my chair to get busy with work. I thanked God and asked him to help me today again because I was nothing without him.

When I was done with my quick prayer, I started my day as I turned on my desktop and started looking at the new designs that were yet to be available in the market.

The Miller's Cooperation was known for its jewelry and perfumes, we had one of the best when it came to these two things.

We were known in Las Vegas and internationally and it was something my grandpa worked hard for, yet, there are people who were never there when he was nothing, when all he did was sell jewelries that were made by his hand on the street just so he could get my grandma an anniversary present, until people started demanding he made more jewelry, yeah, I was told that that was how the Miller's Cooperation started.

It was just something my grandpa did for small money, it ended up being something that became his profession, well thanks to my granny and his hard work.

I looked through all the jewelry before finally picking the ones I wanted to be displayed in the fashion show next week in Paris.

When I was done with that, I started reviewing the reports that were sent to me.

I was lost in working when a loud noise suddenly distracted me.

“ Be careful with that, don't break anything,” I heard the annoying voice of my assistant before I heard a knock on my door.

“ What is it?!" I snapped, angry that he was disturbing me.

The door opened and he walked in with two other people or three or six I don't know but what were they doing in my office? Wait, it looks like they were interior designers.

But this wasn't the right time to do this, I'm still in the office.

“ What is going on Mr. Smith?" I asked and he turned to look at me like I was dumb or something.

“ You sent me tons of pictures last night so I decided to give you what you want," he said and my eyes went to the new chair, picture, and everything office related that was brought.

“ Mr. Smith, can't you see I'm working?”

" Well, there's another office, you can use that one until this is finished and ready to use,” he said.

“ I am not going anywhere Mr. Smith, and those things you think you want to put in this office," I said as I pointed to the furniture and art piece that was brought.

“ That isn't going to work for me,” I said and all of them just turned to look at me in confusion.

" But Miss Miller you sent me pictures of what you'd like and I told them to bring them,” He said as he moved his hand around to the things the interior designers brought.

“ I sent you pictures to make a good decision but this isn't what I was expecting you to pick, I want something unique, something extraordinary, do you understand? This isn't what I want, have them return it and get something better,” I said as I waved them off.

He looked like he was about to argue but shook his head and told them to follow him.

My door shot with a bang and I knew that insufferable and annoying man did it.

I sent him those pictures hoping that for once he'd do something meaningful, I was giving him a chance but like always, he does nothing but disappoint.

There were some documents I took home last night to work on but I couldn't finish them, I forgot to take them from the car. I'll have to call that annoying man.

I picked up the telephone and called his office but it rang several times but I didn't get any answer. He should be in his office . Why isn't he picking my damn call?

I got up from my chair in anger to give him a piece of my mind.

I walked to his office but stopped outside when I heard him talking.

“ She infuriates me, every goddamn time she complains, nothing ever satisfies her, I swear one of these days I'm going to deal with her and show her how I shut women like her, she's so fucking annoying, annoying,"

Time to make myself known.

“ Are you talking about me Mr. Smith?"
