Chapter 141- Panic Attack

She kept gasping for air even after the therapeutic method I told her to try, it still wasn't working and from the look of things if I don't look for a solution she's going to die.

Even if I were to call an ambulance she's not going to be alive before they come, so what I'm I going to do?

What do you do to someone losing air without an inhaler? Give them air you motherfuckers! Fuck why didn't I think about that?

I didn't need to think again before I was passing air into her lungs through my mouth as she struggled on the floor.

I held her shoulders to stop her from shaking and she reduced shaking as I kept pushing air into her mouth until she finally stopped shaking and then she rose up with a gasp like someone who was drowning and suddenly came up to the surface for air.

She started coughing and I patted her back trying to calm her down.

Without warning she broke into a sob as she held onto my shirt and hid her face as she cried.

I was confused at what was happening. I just walked into her office to find her gasping for air and the next thing I know when she finally calmed down she's crying.

Could it be that she was having a panic attack? Because one of the most signs from people with panic attacks is shortage of breath, but what could have triggered it?

“ You're okay now, you're okay," I said as I combed my fingers through her hair. It was on rare occasions that you see her cry, only when the situation was very serious and even at that she doesn't like anyone seeing her cry.

So whatever might have been the cause of all this must be really serious.

“ Should I call the doctor?" I asked but she shook her head,

" But what if something is wrong, I need the doctor to make sure you're fine,” I said but she still shook her head,

" Just delete it, the picture, I don't want to see it,” she said and I looked at her confusion,

" What picture?” I asked as she pointed her finger to her computer without looking at it like whatever she was afraid of would suddenly jump out of the computer, it didn't sit well with me that she looked scared shitless.

I slowly stood up and went to her computer and there on the screen was a drawing of a man, I've never seen him before neither did I wish to see him because he looked hideous and scary as fuck.

Who was he?

I quickly forward the picture to my email and then I deleted it as per her instruction.

“ I've deleted it, you won't have to see the face again,” I said and she turned to me like she was trying to confirm my words.

“ I promise,” I said as I stretched my hand out to her and she took it then I helped her up.

" You're good, you're going to be okay,” I said and she nodded before she sat down on her chair releasing a breath of relief when she found nothing on the screen.

“ Do you want to talk about it?" I asked but she shook her head,

“ Thank you Hardin, I'm okay now," she said, but she still didn't look like herself, she looked like someone who was cold as she hugged herself. I knew she wasn't cold but probably in shock but I asked to make sure,

“ Are you cold?" I asked but she shook her head,

" Alright, I'll get you coffee to calm you down,” I said and she nodded.

I adjusted her head from her face before walking out of her office to make coffee.

That looked scary as hell when I found her gasping for breath on the floor like an invisible person was squeezing the life out of her.

I'd have to buy an inhaler just in case something like this happens again. I'm just hoping it doesn't ever happen when she's alone, because that would mean death.

I quickly made the coffee as I walked back to her office and handed it to her and she took it muttering a 'thank you’

She sipped on the coffee and I just watched her. She said she didn't want to talk about it so I'm going to let my presence be the support I have to offer her.

I really wonder who that man is, I'd have to look into him later, just so I know how I can help her. I can't allow my boss's life to be in danger and turn a blind eye.

“ Hardin, I'm fine now, you can go back to what you were doing," she said but I didn't want to leave her yet.

I didn't move I just stood there,

“ Hardin," she called as she turned to me and for some reason the look in her eyes made my heart clench.

“ I'm fine, you don't have to keep watching me," she said as she stood a deep breath and sat up straight.

No matter the brave facade she was trying to put up I could still see that she was scared, the way she could hardly hold the coffee cup because her hands were shaking was proof enough.

How could just a simple picture rattle her like this?

“ Are you sure I shouldn't call the doctor?" I asked hoping she would change her mind,

“ No, no," she said, her voice shaking,

I'd call a doctor whether she likes it or not but I know she would be pissed but I was worried about her. What if something worse was happening to her but she wasn't telling me.

I decided to call the doctor against her command and I knew she wasn't going to like it.

“ I'll be in my office," I said and she nodded before I walked out of her office. As soon as I was out the door, I brought out my phone to call the doctor.

“ Hello doctor Charles, please can you come to the Miller's Cooperation immediately, I need your assistant in the CEO’s office." I said,

“ Alright, I'll be there," he said before I ended the call.

While I waited for the doctor, I decided to go investigate that picture.

I sat down on my chair as I quickly forwarded the picture to my private investigator and told him to look into it for me.

I was just praying it wasn't who I think it is because I've heard tales and they weren't good.

Tales about her nightmares.
