Chapter 93- Playing Investigator
I took a seat as I looked at all of the screens in front of me, then I pushed the chair back to get a clearer view.
I know I couldn't look at all the screens at the same time because obviously I had just two eyes.
I looked at the screens and they were showing every angle of our house, the entrance, the garden, the back of our house, the front, the kitchen, every fucking place and yet my grandfather got kidnapped and they have no clue how he was taken and they want me to believe that, seriously? How is that even possible?
I kept looking at the screens, one at a time, while deep in my thoughts. How easy was it for them to take him away without anyone's notice?
“ This is driving me crazy," I said to no one in particular as I looked at the screen, my eyes already hurting.
I tapped my finger on the side of my head deep in thoughts.
I quickly sat up when I noticed something as I started looking at all of them one after the other again.
“ What the heck?"
I have been looking at all the screens yet none of them had cameras facing his side. I got up and walked out and all the men straightened up as soon as they saw me.
“ I want the head of security in my office in less than five minutes,” I said before walking away, not waiting for their response.
That man thinks he's special and I know Aunt Celia had nothing to do with it, he's just using her and she does whatever he says in the cover of a loving husband when in reality he's nothing but a snake.
He holds the position as the General Manager of all the Miller's affairs but that's not enough for him, he wants to be the CEO, in his dreams.
I walked to my office here in the mansion as I walked behind my desk and comfortably sat down on my chair.
Some minutes later, a knock came on the door.
“ Come in," I said,
“ Miss Miller, you asked for me," he said and just hummed as I rolled my tongue in my mouth before looking at him.
“ Why are there no cameras watching the residence of my aunt and uncle? Is there an explanation for that?” I asked as I looked at him then I slowly picked the pen on my table and started rolling it between fingers.
" That's because Mr Garry Miller said he wanted privacy and that he wasn't okay with us watching him and according to him; he says he does a lot of outdoor activities with his wife and they all require privacy,” that's a dumb ass reason, he's just looking for an excuse to get away with his evil deeds without anyone suspecting him.
“ So there are no cameras watching the sides of his house?" I asked and the Head of Security shook his head.
This doesn't make sense.
“ Did my grandpa know about this?" I asked.
“ Yes ma'am," he answered,
Why do they let that man get away with whatever he wants, of course, they trust him, I'm the only one that sees him for who he truly is.
“ You can go," I said and he nodded before walking out of my office.
We put cameras for security, there are no security cameras in my room, it gives me privacy, then what the fuck is he talking about? What privacy, if he isn't up to something?
There's no absolute way he doesn't have cameras in his house watching out for anyone trying to sneak on him.
Okay, that's enough playing investigator for one night, I need rest.
With that, I walked out of my office to call it a night. I had such a depressing day.
*******
HARDIN'S POV
I tried to clear my mind off what Vera told me last night but at each turn I make I keep thinking about it. Even right now as I drove to the Miller's mansion.
Why would she suddenly come back now? Because she wants you of course, that sick love puppy in me said but I shut down the voice.
If she didn't need me then, I don't think she would want me now.
Or what if she received a note too and was back because she knows the only place she can really feel safe is with us? No, I don't think so.
She survived years without us. Why would she need us now? Come on, I really need to stop disturbing my head about stupid matters like that.
I drove into the Miller's mansion and stopped in front of the house as I stepped down from the car.
“ Good morning," I greeted one of the maids as she turned to me with a smile,
“ Good morning Sir," she greeted,
“ Where is Miss Miller,"
“ Let's go Hardin," just then I saw her walking towards us looking like a ticking bomb.
“ Oh, thank you," I said to the maid before I followed behind my flaming boss. I wonder who has offended her this early in the morning, please let her not take out her anger on my car.
She opened the car door and got in then closed it gently and I couldn't help but release the breath I didn't know I was holding as I walked around the car to the driver's side and got in.
“ Good morning Miss Miller, everything okay?” I asked,
" I'm fine,” she said and I didn't bother asking her any more questions.
She couldn't go to the office looking as mad as that but I dare not say one more word because I've tasted first hand what an angry Ariana could be.
The drive to the office was quiet and I know there were a lot of things going through her head.
I stopped the car in front of the company as we both stepped out of the car but before we could enter the company my phone started ringing.
I brought out my phone thinking it was an office related call but my eyes immediately went round when I saw who it was from.
“ Excuse me, Miss Miller," I said as I quickly walked to a corner to pick the call.
“ Scar, what do you have for me?" I whispered,
“ Ahh, boy, no good morning princess?" He asked, he knew I didn't have time for this but I couldn't do anything about his shenanigans because I needed his help.
“ Okay, okay, whatever, we've found something,” he said and I felt my heart skip.
“What is it?”
