Chapter 83- Hangover

ARIANA'S POV

When I woke up the first thing I noticed was the banging of my head. What happened last night? Why did I get myself drunk? I squeezed my eyes trying to relieve the pain I was feeling in my head but it wasn't going away. This wasn't how I planned to start my morning. With a damn hangover.

I got up from bed with a groan as I rubbed my head. I picked my phone and when I checked the time it was 6:25 am in the morning and I had to be at work by eight.

I grudgingly climbed down from bed and for a second I had to hold my bed for support when my legs felt like jelly. Just how much did I drink?

I needed to get something to relieve this headache or else I was going to be getting pissed at everyone in the office for no reason. And that wouldn't be good.

I picked my phone and called one of the maids to bring painkillers for me and anything to relieve my head, whatever she could find.

I stretched as I lazily walked myself to my bathroom. I went to do my business before walking out of the toilet and then I took my brush and put on the toothpaste as I started brushing my teeth.

I looked in the mirror and then suddenly a memory flashed in my head.

‘ I want you to play with me,’

I couldn't help but scrunch my brows in confusion, what the heck was that?

When I finished brushing I removed the night gown I had on as I walked into the shower.

As soon as I turned the shower on, another memory flashed in my head.

‘ I want your lips,’

Where was all this coming from? Remind me not to get drunk again. Being drunk messes with your head and you start thinking things and hearing things you have no idea where they're from.

Instead of giving myself more headaches I focused on showering.

When I was done with my shower I walked out of the bathroom as I wrapped a fluffy towel around my body and then another on my head as I walked out of the bathroom.

A glass of water and painkillers was already lying on my bedside table so I just walked to it and then I took the tablet and took just two as I gulped it down with water.

When I was done I walked to my closet to get dressed.

I decided to go with red. So I picked a red suit pants and a milk colored top with a vee neck and ruffle sleeves and then I looked through my shoes to decide which one I would pick. I finally picked a six inch red bottom heel. When I was done deciding what I wanted to wear, I dropped everything to start getting ready. For the jewelry I decided to go with pearls, I always like my jewelry simple.

I got dressed and then gave the final touch of my expensive perfumes as I gave myself a once over look. And not to forget the handbag, I took a black handbag to go with my shoes.

I walked out of my closet as I walked to my bed and picked my phone. I had a few missed calls from my assistant.

Why was he calling me?

I was going to the office so there was no need to bother calling him. I put my phone into my bag as I walked out of my room.

“ Honey wait," I heard my Mom's voice call me just as I was about to walk out of the house.

“ Morning Mom, I thought you'd still be sleeping, I didn't want to wake you,” I said as I kissed her on both cheeks.

“ Please have breakfast before you leave, I made it myself, well, with the help of Mr Smith," What?!

My assistant was here? Oh.

" Okay Mom,” I said as she happily led me to the dining table and to my surprise my assistant was setting the table.

“ Good morning, Miss Miller," he said with a smile and I couldn't help but smile back. There was something dancing in his eyes but I couldn't pinpoint what it was.

“ Thank you for this," I said to him and then I turned to my Mom.

“ Thank you Mom for breakfast but you know you're not supposed to stress yourself," I said.

“ Hush now, I'm not handicapped, I can still do something as simple as making you breakfast, I just wanted something that would lift the mood of this house, maybe if we're happy enough then we'll find your grandpa," she said and I couldn't help but smile.

“ Maybe," I whispered.

We had a breakfast of pancakes and coffee and from the first bite I could tell Hardin did most of the work, it tasted like the pancakes I had at his place.

When we were done eating my Mom walked Hardin and I out the door as I kissed her cheek wishing her a wonderful day.

“ I wonder why you came to pick me today," I said as Hardin and I walked to his car.

“ I just wanted to make sure you don't come to work late," he said and I turned to him with a raised brow.

“ What makes you think I'll come to work late, have I for any reason been to work late?" I asked him as he opened the car door for me and I got in muttering a ‘thank you.’

He turned around the car as he opened the driver's side door and got in.

“ You haven't answered my question," I said as I watched him strap on his seatbelt.

“ Nothing, absolutely nothing," he said and if I wasn't looking at him I wouldn't have caught the small smirk that was playing on his lips.

The drive to the office was quiet as soft music played through the speaker.

When we reached the company the door was opened for me and I got out so did Hardin as he handed the key to the valet and then we both walked in.

We were greeted by some of my employees and I couldn't help but notice the way some of the women were looking at Hardin. I couldn't help it when I rolled my eyes as we walked to the elevator.

As soon as he pressed the elevator button and the door opened, it felt like a bucket of cold water was poured on me as memories started coming back.

And I stopped in my tracks.
