Chapter 32- Getting On His Nerves

She wasn't doing what I think she was doing right? She wasn't going to make me stand in this meeting just to prove a point that she's the boss right?

But as the meeting continued and I still remained standing beside her with my tab in my hand as I took down important information.

“ So guys, what date do you all suggest for the launching of the Diva scent?" She asked the team as they looked between each other before turning to her.

" I think it should be immediately after our fashion show because that fashion show is going to be the talk of town and to keep people talking we're going to launch our new product, that would bring a lot of. clients to us,” One of the team members suggested and it wasn't a bad idea.

" That sounds good, any other suggestions?" She asked but everyone shook their heads.

" He's suggestion is very good, and it would come as a surprise to our rivals because while they're not yet over the fact that we successfully did our show, we'll shock them with a release of a new product, so it's perfect,"

" Well, since that is settled, we've come to the end of the meeting, whatever we have to say or any changes we have to make we'll do that in our next meeting, excuse me,” she said as she stood up and then she turned to me.

" Let's go Mr. Smith,” She said as she walked away leaving her bag for me to carry and I looked at the bag like it was the cause of all my problems before I grudgingly took it and walked out of the meeting room.

She was waiting in front of the elevator for me and when I reached there I angrily pressed the elevator button for it to open and then she walked in before I walked in after her.

I pressed the button for our floor as the elevator started going up.

I swear the type of thoughts going through my mind were thoughts that needed me to be as far away from this woman but unfortunately we were in the same space.

What does she take me for? A child who she could tell to sit and he'll sit, stand and he'll stand. Her level of disrespect was beginning to get out of hand.

“ Miss Miller," I called as I turned to her and she turned to me with sass before turning away from me. She was definitely proud of what she had done earlier.

She was the boss and nobody was going to ask her why she decided that her assistant should stand during a meeting, that was what she just wanted to prove.

“ Yes Mr. Smith, is there anything you would like to tell me?" She asked as she busied herself with her fingers like it was the most interesting thing in the world rather than listening to whatever I had to say.

I chose to keep quiet, swallowing whatever I wanted to say. This woman was asking for trouble and if I start with her, that office would become too hot for her. I warned her but she took my warning as a joke.

“ Mr. Smith I thought you were about to tell me something?" she asked as she finally turned to look at me. There was this satisfied glint in her eyes that I wanted to wipe off.

“ Nothing Miss Miller," I said through clenched teeth and she raised a brow before she shook her head and turned away from me.

When we reached our floor she took her bag from me and walked to her office while I walked to mine.

I walked to my table and dropped my tablet but when I turned to look at where my chair was supposed to be it wasn't there. But I left it here before going for the meeting, why would it suddenly disappear?

I scrunch my brows in confusion, why would my chair be here some minutes ago and then suddenly it's not here. Who took it? I don't remember it having any issues that would need changing, it was in good condition.

Instead of staying here and wondering where my chair was, I decided to call the maintenance department.

“ Hello, please I would like to know if you took my chair? It's not in my office,” I asked.

" Yeah, it's in the CEO’s office,” he said.

I should have known, I should have suspected that that witch might do something like this but my mind didn't even go there.

" Did she tell you why she would want it in her office?” I asked.

" No, she just asked for the chair to be moved to her office and I was thinking maybe you both have work to do in her office that's why she asked us to take it there,” he said.

" It's okay, thank you," I said before I ended the call.

That woman was really asking for it. I've never been pushed around so much by a woman in my life like this woman was doing.

I thought that warning her would get to her but instead it just brought out the evil witch in her more. I was fed up with her stupid attitude.

I took a deep breath before I walked to her office and knocked on the door. She didn't answer clearly knowing that I must be the one standing outside.

I didn't care, I opened the door and there she was sitting on her chair and going through some papers and then she had her legs on my chair.

“ Miss Miller, is there a reason you took my chair from my office? You do know you're preventing me from working," I said to her but she didn't even bother acknowledging me.

“ Miss Miller," I tried again before she rolled her eyes and turned to me.

“ How does taking your chair prevent you from working?" She asked. That was a stupid question to ask.

“ Obviously I have to sit and work, to be comfortable," I said but she just shook her head as she folded her hands then she brought down her legs from my chair and turned to me fully.

“ Mr. Smith, it seems you're forgetting who the boss is, I am, and what I say is what goes and there's nothing you can do about it," She said with so much confidence and power that I wished she would choke on her words.

“ So what does this mean now?" I asked.

“ It means that if I want you to stand and work that's exactly what you're going to do,"

“ You've gotta be kidding me,"
