Chapter 100 Queenie Learns the Truth

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a while before Pollard's voice came, sounding somewhat heavy.

"Are you sure?"

Clancy's heart skipped a beat. "Brother...I..."

"You don't need to assume. Lately, Mom and Queenie have been acting strange, and I knew something was wrong with these two, but I didn't expect it to be this serious."

Barbara Clancy's heart sank.

Her thoughts were progressive, and she always believed that giving birth was not a woman's sole value. Hearing her older brother say this, she felt a bit disappointed.

"Brother, do you really care about this issue?"

"Barbara, I won't give up on Queenie just because she can't conceive, but marriage is not as simple as you think. There are many factors to consider, especially in our wealthy family. Now, I ask you, are you sure about this matter?"

"Well, I saw the medical report," Barbara Clancy replied.

"Alright, Barbara. Don't get involved in this matter anymore. I'll handle it."

Barbara Clancy wanted to ask how he planned to handle it, but Pollard hung up the phone.

Barbara Clancy felt anxious, but she didn't call back.

When she returned to the Bund Bay apartment, Queenie and Benoit were resting in their respective rooms.

Staring at the two closed doors, Barbara Clancy recalled what Mommy had said, and her heart ached.

She sympathized with Queenie, who was treated as a pawn and pushed onto Mr. Clancy's bed, only to be denied her rightful promises.

Barbara Clancy didn't know how to face Queenie, so she quietly returned to her guest room.

The next day, Queenie went to work as usual.

During her lunch break, a woman in her late twenties, whom Queenie didn't know, found her in her office.

"Hello, are you the English teacher for Class 8, Ms. Lorente?"

Queenie nodded. "Yes, I am."

"Can we talk for a moment?" The woman had a gentle appearance, and her voice was soft and courteous, making it hard to refuse.

Queenie thought she must be a parent. She glanced at her watch and asked, "Can we go to the café across the school?"

"Sure."

With that, the two of them walked to the café together.

As soon as they sat down, Queenie spoke, "Hello, may I ask which student's parent you are? Is there something you want to discuss with me?"

"I'm not a parent, I'm Pollard's sister. My last name is Lee, and I'm a doctor. Here's my business card." Doctor Lee handed over her business card.

Out of politeness, Queenie took the card and nodded. "May I ask why you're looking for me?"

"Well, Pollard asked me to take you for a fertility examination. He said there might be some issues and asked me to help treat you."

"A fertility examination?" Queenie's voice raised slightly, wondering if Pollard had gone mad.

"Miss Lorente, please don't get upset. Rest assured, we value privacy.”

Doctor Lee spoke sincerely, "As for your personal health condition, I will not disclose it to anyone. Please trust me."

Queenie was a bit agitated. "I'm sorry, but I don't need any treatment!"

Before Doctor Lee could say anything else, Barbara Clancy, who had come to apologize to Queenie at noon, stopped her and said, "I'm sorry, you can leave now. I'll talk to Queenie." Barbara Clancy nodded at Doctor Lee. "I'm Pollard's sister."

Doctor Lee smiled and got up. "Alright then, if you need anything, you can contact me."

After saying that, Doctor Lee picked up her bag and left.

Queenie was puzzled, furrowing her brows. "Do you know about this?"

Just as she finished speaking, Queenie's phone rang, showing an unfamiliar number.

Worried that it might be her parents contacting her, she couldn't afford to ignore it.

As soon as the call connected, Pollard's voice came through. "Queenie, it's me. Did my senior sister contact you?"

Receiving Pollard's call at this moment, Queenie was infuriated. "Pollard, are you crazy? Why did you have someone come to give me a fertility check?"

Queenie felt that Pollard was disrespecting her.

Even if he was her ex-boyfriend, he had no right to make decisions without discussing with her, especially when they had already broken up and she was now his sister-in-law!

Pollard took a deep breath and said, "Queenie, there's no need to hide it from me anymore. I know about your situation. I don't mind that you can't conceive. On the contrary, I'm actively trying to find a solution for us. Can you understand?"
