Chapter 43: Mr. Clancy learns about Pollard's token of affection
Queenie remained calm, lifting her head and looking at the mirror.
With a smile, Queenie said, "Then take the pictures."
Her light and airy tone surprised Sarah, as if her expression was saying, You...why are you suddenly not afraid anymore.
Queenie knew what Sarah was thinking and asked her with a faint smile, "Do you think all internet users are brainless? I'm curious, without the homeowner's consent, if you ruin a high-end house like this, how would the internet users defend you? It's not your own house, so you don't have to worry, right!"
As she spoke, Queenie stood up and stared straight at Sarah, approaching her with the air of a teacher.
"You just said it was ‘just inviting your sister's friend to have a meal?’ First, I didn't agree to treat everyone to a meal! If I had agreed to treat, then no matter how much the meal costs today, it would have been paid by me.
Secondly, can this be described as 'just'? A meal costs $11,000 dollars. How many working-class people can earn that in a year? And you say 'just'?
Your older sister and I work at the same school, so feel free to ask your sister, is it easy for us to earn $11,000 in a year?
Taking the hard-earned money of others, which they have worked for by eating cheaply, and not drinking alcohol for a whole year, and spending it on a meal, you say 'just'?
Since you care so much about my sister, and you are better at being human than me, then you can give the remaining $3,000 yourself.
I just saw you eat several pieces of lobster sashimi. I, on the other hand, haven't taken a bite. How about it? It would be more reasonable for you to pay than me, wouldn't it?"
Sarah was pushed back by the rebuke, her face stiff, unable to say a word for a long time.
Jokingly, it would be better to ask her to pay out the $3,000 rather than giving her the satisfaction!
Her family was an ordinary working-class family.
Moreover, the clothes and bags she has now were all bought through online borrowing. Where would she find the spare money to be the scapegoat for this?
The other friends, seeing that things were going in a bad direction, all got up to leave, teasing along the way.
"Monica, in the future, don't invite me to this kind of situation. I want to come to play and eat, and not be forced to watch someone's family drama, what is this?"
"Exactly, if this gets out, I'm afraid I'll be laughed at. Plus, we have no interest in your family affairs!"
"Oh, by the way, do you need me to lend you $3,000?"
"No...no need." Monica's face stiffened, desperately trying to keep her friends happy, "Won't you sit a bit longer? The situation here will be resolved soon."
"No."
With their stomachs filled with good food and drinks, the friends left directly, leaving only Sarah behind to accompany Monica.
After seeing all of her friends leave, Monica's face completely darkened, and she angrily walked up to Queenie and shouted, "Are you satisfied now? You wicked woman, do you want to fight with me like this? Even if you die, I will be able to inherit this house! This house will belong to me!"
‘"Smack’ Queenie didn't hesitate to slap Monica.
"Even if I die, this house won't fall into your hands! I still have my husband! Monica, let me tell you, no matter what happens in the future, even if this house is donated, I won't let you benefit from it."
Her voice trailed off.
Just then, Manley, was pushing Benoit into the house.
When Monica saw Benoit come in, she immediately acted like a child tattling.
"Hey, did you just hear what your wife just said? Let me tell you, you married such a vicious woman!"
"Hmm, I heard. I think my wife is absolutely right," Benoit looked at Queenie with affectionate eyes.
Sarah happened to be standing beside Queenie, and she misunderstood that Benoit was looking at her, causing her face to blush instantly.
She had heard her sister say that Queenie's husband had a great temperament, and even sitting in a wheelchair couldn't conceal his nobility.
Now, seeing him like this, it seems to be true.
Sarah had a sharp eye, always looking at what brand of clothes and watches people wore.
After just one glance at Benoit, she basically concluded that this man was super rich!
Thinking about this extraordinary man looking at herself like that, Sarah's heart started to beat faster.
Monica didn't notice Sarah's reaction, and angrily stared at Benoit, "You... both of you are bad people!"
Saying that, Monica intentionally took out a stone from her bag and threw it at Queenie.
"Here! It's the token from Pollard to you! Sis, I originally thought you were still attached to this stone. I would have brought it to you when you let me have a party at your place. But now, it seems like you don't deserve me being so nice to you!"
After speaking, Monica turned and left.
"Monica," Gilda wanted to chase after her daughter but was stopped by the kitchen staff.
"You haven't paid the final payment yet."
The kitchen staff finally understood after listening for about ten minutes.
The shameless mother and daughter duo held a party here without permission.
In this situation, it was impossible and unreasonable for them to demand the final payment from the host, so the kitchen staff had to stop Gilda.
Gilda felt embarrassed and gave him a glare, "You will have to come back with me to the villa to get the money!”
After speaking, Gilda left.
The kitchen staff had no choice but to follow her back.
Sarah waved at Benoit, "Sis, brother-in-law, I'll leave now."
After speaking, she quickly ran out to chase after Monica.
When she caught up to Monica, Sarah comforted her, "Monica, don't be angry! I'm on your side in this matter. It's just that your sister went too far!"
"That's right! It's all her fault!" Monica stomped her foot in anger.
After observing Monica's expression, Sarah pretended to hesitate and said, "Monica, I have an idea that can help you vent your anger, but it's a bit embarrassing to say..."
Upon hearing Sarah's words, Monica's eyes instantly lit up, and she grabbed Sarah's hand.
"Tell me! I must get rid of this anger!"
"Come out, my beloved, I knew you would be the most loyal to me. Everyone else has left, but you have always stayed by my side, without wavering."
Sarah nodded, "It's enough for you to know that I am good to you. Just to clarify, I came up with this idea for your own good, so don't think too much about it."
"Alright. Just tell me," Monica urged.
Sarah glanced at Gilda nearby and lowered her voice, "Who is responsible for your sister's arrogance? Isn't it because of Benoit? If I seduce Benoit and win him over, do you think he will still dote on your sister like before?"
Monica frowned skeptically, "Is what you're saying feasible? And can you really handle someone like my brother-in-law...?"
"Of course, I can! I am younger than your sister. What man doesn't like youth? Even if he doesn't divorce your sister, he would gladly keep me as his young mistress. And, do you really think he has any feelings for your sister? It's just because of his leg disability that someone was willing to marry him, so she accepted."
"True," Monica nodded, "I'm sorry for burdening you with seducing a man in a wheelchair."
Sarah's mouth curled into a smile, "Okay then, just know and remember that I'm doing this for you. You have to be good to me in the future!"
"Of course!" Monica promised, patting her chest, "Next month, I'll buy you a bag!"
Sarah was thrilled and planted a kiss on Monica's cheek.
On the other side of the Bay, after Monica and her group left, the living room instantly quieted down. Benoit and Queenie's gaze simultaneously fell on the "token of love" that Pollard had given...
