Chapter 139 Queenie's Counter-question

"Of course, if you have any other requests for reconciliation, feel free to mention them," Brandon added.

Queenie unconsciously glanced at Benoit.

Benoit had a hint of a smile on his lips. "You are the one involved in the matter. If you want to reconcile, reconcile; if you don't want to, then don't. It's up to you."

His words implied that he supported whatever choice she made.

Brandon looked surprised at Benoit, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.

He keenly sensed that there was something wrong between these two! Queenie was his future daughter-in-law, so why would she seek Benoit's opinion?

And Benoit, who never meddled in others' affairs, why would he be so concerned about Queenie's matters?

It seems like he will have to dismiss Barbara later and ask about it.

Something is definitely not right here!

Queenie understood Benoit's words and thought for a moment before answering, "According to the promises you just made, I agree to reconcile. But this will be the last time. I understand very well that Mrs. Pollard doesn't like me. If there's a next time, I won't be lenient."

Brandon's face showed a hint of surprise.

He remembered that this prospective daughter-in-law had always been gentle and easy to talk to, even giving the impression of being too weak and indecisive. He didn't expect her to be so firm this time.

Good. A person should be like this!

He nodded approvingly, "Okay, I understand. Thank you, Queenie."

As he spoke, he smiled slightly and patted Benoit's shoulder, hinting something with meaningful eyes, "Let's talk?"

His gaze briefly landed on Queenie.

Benoit knew what his elder brother wanted to discuss and nodded, "Let's go to the study."

With that, he gave Queenie a reassuring look.

Queenie wasn't foolish either and guessed that Brandon had noticed something about her relationship with Benoit.

Brandon stood up gracefully and politely looked at Queenie: "It's my birthday in a few days, Queenie, come over then."

"Sure, but as what?" Queenie's lips curled into a faint smile.

Brandon's brow furrowed subconsciously.

Barbara looked at Queenie, then at Mr. Clancy and her own father, with a bewildered expression.

Before Brandon could answer Queenie's question, his phone rang.

After answering, he exclaimed, "Are you telling the truth? Okay, I'll be right there!"

Hanging up the phone, Brandon immediately crouched down in front of Benoit and locked eyes with him.

"I just received news that the Houston laboratory has successfully cultivated the X ring-shaped antibodies! If it's true, I can completely eliminate the virus from your body!"

Benoit's eyelids drooped slightly, his expression unclear. "Brother, I'm fine. I haven't had an outbreak in many years."

"No, it's not enough! My lifelong wish is to detoxify you! Even if you haven't had an outbreak, as long as the virus still exists in your body, I won't give up!"

As he spoke, he tightly held Benoit's knee. "There's no problem with your legs in any examination, but you still can't stand up. It's highly likely that it's the virus affecting you. As long as we can successfully cultivate and replicate the X ring-shaped antibody, you'll get better!"

Brandon became more and more excited as he spoke, immediately instructing his assistant to book plane tickets.

Benoit held onto Brandon's hand. "Brother, your birthday is coming up..."

"It's okay. Birthdays come every year, and I can come back after this trip, don't worry."

After saying that, Brandon left with his assistant.

Benoit called Manley: "My brother is going to the Houston lab. Have some people protect him on the way."

Manley responded.

After Brandon left, Barbara was also called out to play by her classmates.

Queenie approached Benoit, who had been in low spirits all along, and walked over to him, placing her hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
