Chapter 62 Facing an Ex

Upon hearing Pollard's voice, Queenie sneered. "Bitch, so you're acting for Pollard early in the morning!"

"Queenie..." Emily's choked voice came from the phone, "I'm not that kind of person. You have misunderstood me too much.

"I really hope you can make up with Pollard."

In the next moment, a voice of blame came from the other end of the phone, presumably Pollard snatched the phone.

"Queenie, how could you treat Emily like this? You...you even called her a bitch. Look at yourself now, do you still look like a teacher?"

There was a pause, and Pollard sighed.

"Queenie, I know I didn't handle this well. I understand that you're upset. But how did you become...I feel like I hardly recognize you anymore!"

Queenie gave a cold laugh.

"Do teachers deserve to be treated this way? Can't say anything and still have to be nice to a hypocritical bitch? Then wait for the year-end to give me the best teacher award?"

Pollard frowned, "Queenie, why are you speaking so harshly now? I remember you used to be gentle."

As he spoke, Pollard took a few steps away with the phone and lowered his voice, "Queenie, Emily is different from us. We come from privileged backgrounds and are confident in ourselves. But Emily's family situation is poor, and she is somewhat insecure. You can't provoke her like this."

"Pollard!" Queenie raised her voice. "I've said it before, the problems between you and me, we should resolve them ourselves, without involving an outsider!"

"I...Queenie, Little Martial Sister isn't an outsider."

"Yes, I am the outsider." Queenie gave a tired smile. "Pollard, I'm tired. Don't force me to change my phone number. Tell your Little Martial Sister that if she calls to harass me again, I won't be polite!"

"Queenie, why don't you understand? Emily wants what's best for us. Her wish is for us to reconcile, it's not what you think." Pollard explained anxiously.

"Pollard, can't you be more mature?" Queenie interrupted Pollard.

Pollard suddenly froze, then heard an extremely calm voice from the other end of the phone.

"When will you come back? When will we face each other like adults and solve the issues between us?”

“Since we started dating, you've been absent. You can't always rely on phone communication to solve everything. You say Emily has a tough life, she is miserable and insecure, but Pollard, have you ever experienced my life from my perspective? Do you really understand how well or poorly I've been living with the Lorente family these years?”

“Fine, even if I've been living well. Even if Emily is weak, should I let her be? Since you think it's okay for an outsider to interfere in a couple's relationship, well, I'll have my pursuers add you on WhatsApp and contact you frequently. Experience it for yourself!"

With that, Queenie hung up the phone and promptly added his number to the blacklist!

When she arrived at school, she still felt somewhat resentful.

In the past, I never encountered any problems, nor did I realize that Pollard could be so unsuitable. But now that I am facing an issue, these problems are becoming apparent.

Because Queenie has been in a relationship with Pollard for three years and they still have so many problems, she suddenly starts to worry about her relationship with Benoit.

In the morning, before her first three classes, Queenie logs into WhatsApp and sends a message to "the other woman".

"Good morning, Mr. Clancy." Benoit sees the WhatsApp message and is momentarily stunned, but quickly replies with excitement: "Good morning, Miss Lorente."

Queenie takes a moment to think and then sends a message to Benoit: "I have two questions I want to ask you."

Benoit immediately sits up straight upon reading the message. Is Queenie testing him with these questions?

Benoit presses the voice message button and says, "Miss Lorente, feel free to ask anything you want."

Queenie thinks for a moment and says, "If you found out that my best friend was eavesdropping on our phone conversations while we were dating, would you be angry? And if she overheard inappropriate content and took my phone and scolded you, how would you handle it?"

Benoit is momentarily taken aback and doesn't consider this to be a problem. For him, the most important issue is whether or not his wife trusts him. Loyalty between two people in love is a matter of principle. Everything else is not a problem.

However, he still earnestly presses the voice message button to answer the question. "Miss Lorente, first of all, I don't think this is a very serious problem. When a girl is in a relationship, she always hopes to have someone to consult with.”

“Also, I believe Miss Lorente is a mature and independent person. Allowing your best friend to eavesdrop on your phone conversations shows that she is someone Miss Lorente trusts deeply. Moreover, Miss Lorente must believe that our conversations do not involve personal privacy or contain any ambiguous words, and that it is something she can let her best friend hear. So, I think I wouldn't be angry."

Benoit continues, "As for your best friend taking your phone and scolding me... this behavior is indeed a bit discourteous. But I think as your best friend, she must also have your best interests at heart, and I can understand that.”

“Furthermore, I will also reflect on what I may have done wrong." After a pause, Benoit's voice, warm as a gentle breeze, comes through the phone. "I wonder how many points Miss Lorente would give me for this answer?"

Queenie's heart flutters a bit. There's no denying that Benoit's soothing voice is quite alluring. She replies calmly, "I hope Mr. Lu is speaking from the depths of his heart, and that this is truly what he thinks."

"Not to deceive me."

Benoit smiled and replied, "Of course. Miss Lorente, ask the second question."

Queenie thought for a moment and asked about the morning incident, "Suppose you were a teacher, and someone provokes you in person. Would you scold them?"

"I would!" Benoit answered without hesitation. "However, if the person is a student, I might consider the actual situation before handling it."

"Why?" Queenie clearly didn't expect Benoit's straightforward answer.

"Because if I were a teacher, I would have a responsibility towards the students. From a professional standpoint, I cannot lead them astray. But when facing others, I am not a teacher, and I won't tolerate it!"

A slight smile appeared at the corner of Queenie's mouth.

At the moment, it seemed that Benoit's values aligned quite well with her own.

Of course, further observation was necessary; it was too early to draw conclusions.

"Alright, I'll give you a task." Queenie handed Pollard's WhatsApp over to Benoit.

"My former junior constantly harasses me, and I'm fed up with it. I want you to trouble her as she troubled me."

"Don't worry, Miss Lorente, I can do that," Benoit assured her.

After sending the message, Benoit couldn't wait to add Pollard using a different account.

The note read: "Ms. Lorente recommended that I learn about archaeology from you."

When Pollard received the WhatsApp request, he hesitated for a moment.

Originally, he didn't want to accept friend requests, but remembering what Queenie said about experiencing the feeling of someone interfering between them, he accepted it out of spite.

He didn't believe he couldn't handle it!

After accepting the request, "Mistress Clancy" promptly greeted him.

"Hello, my surname is Clancy. I admire Ms. Lorente."

"I heard you work in archaeology, and I have some questions to ask you."

"Don't worry, I'm not here to disrupt your relationship; I want to join you."

"I think it would be good to have more friends and more opportunities."
