Chapter 116 Queenie and Mr. Clancy Flirting
Queenie was astonished as she realized that she had just started to know Benoit.
He was quite naughty but also kind of handsome!
Soon, the two arrived at Clancy Villa.
Before entering the living room, Benoit and Queenie heard an argument.
It was between Lilith and Barbara.
"Mummy, I'm very disappointed in you."
"Barbara, we are a family!"
"I will tell Grandpa and Dad about this. Without anyone restraining you, mummy, you will get into big trouble!"
"I forbid it!"
The sharp voice of Lilith had just fallen when Benoit pushed his wheelchair forward.
Barbara turned her red eyes away and muttered, "Mr. Clancy." Benoit calmly replied, "I heard my younger brother is coming to Clancy Villa today to see Dad. So I came here to talk."
As his voice trailed off, Lilith nervously exclaimed, "Benoit, what are you up to? I warn you, don't speak nonsense, or I will reveal your fake marriage."
Benoit raised an eyebrow, "Why are you so nervous? Are you worried about what I'll say to Grandpa? Is it about how you sent your nephew to harm Queenie? Or maybe how you joined forces with outsiders and hired some hooligans to do something improper to Queenie?"
Lilith's face stiffened, and she looked uncomfortable. Barbara, unaware of what her mummy had done with Daniel before, looked at her in surprise, with a deep disappointment in her eyes. Queenie, pretending to be afraid, held onto Benoit's shoulder and whispered, "Please, if she tells Grandpa, it's over for us."
Benoit smirked and pinched Queenie's nose. He leaned in close to her ear and said, "So you've picked up some bad habits too." That's right, Queenie had learned from him. The two of them joked around without caring for the world, exchanging sweet glances.
Barbara was a bit bewildered, wondering why these two acted like they were flirting. Just then, Prescott Clancy slowly walked out, leaning on his dragon-headed cane, and caught sight of Lilith and Benoit, rolling his eyes discreetly.
"Dad!" Lilith and Benoit called out simultaneously.
Prescott Clancy's headache worsened. These two were troublesome. Prescott didn't respond and looked at Barbara and Queenie, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Barbara and Queenie have arrived. Come, hurry and join Grandpa for tea."
With that, Prescott turned and went back to the living room. Barbara obediently went forward to pour tea for Grandpa. Benoit's eyes carried a hint of contentment. "The most contribution to this family is probably Queenie raises two well-behaved children."
Queenie's eyelids drooped at his words. She remembered the argument between Lilith and Barbara just now because of her own matters. She also recalled everything Barbara had done for her during this time, making her admire Benoit's character even more. He had scolded Barbara, and yet he gave her an expensive camera, showing his approval of her. Despite the fierce conflict he had with Lilith, he still cared deeply for her.
"It's still a bit unclear." Queenie glanced at Benoit, who was engaged in a conversation with Prescott, and felt that this man was becoming more charming by the minute.
Benoit had no clue what his wife was thinking. After discussing a few unrelated topics, he suddenly mentioned Lilith.
"I heard that my sister-in-law is quite knowledgeable in financial lending and investments, is that true?"
"No." Lilith immediately denied.
"Oh? I heard that my sister-in-law..."
Before he could finish speaking, Lilith nervously stood up. "Benoit! How is your relationship with Queenie lately? Have you thought about when to have the wedding?"
