Chapter 20 Remorse
"Shut up!" Sanford slapped Jeremy and said, "In Coast City, no one can be so disrespectful to Mr. Clancy!"
"Mr. Clancy?" Jeremy covered his numb face, looking at Sanford in disbelief.
There was only one person in Coast City who could be called Mr. Clancy!
He was the man in charge of the economic lifeline of all industries, maritime transportation, and the biochemical pharmaceutical industry.
He was the initially appointed master of Clancy Group.
He was also Pollard's third uncle, Benoit Clancy!
Aware of Benoit's identity, Jeremy was instantly speechless with shock.
Jeremy thought back to the stupid words he had just said and trembled with fear.
It was said who dared to offend Benoit would come to a sticky end.
Sanford ignored embarrassed Jeremy and said to Benoit respectfully, "Mr. Clancy, what a coincidence to meet you here! Let me play the host and treat you to a meal."
"Don't bother. I just finished eating with my wife." Benoit responded indifferently, but when he looked at Queenie, his eyes were full of doting.
"Wife?" Sanford was surprised.
Sheila hurriedly walked to whisper a few words in Sanford's ear and nodded slightly at Queenie.
Sanford turned his eyes on Queenie.
He had seen Queenie before, knowing she was Jeremy's younger sister. At only one glance from a distance then, he felt Queenie was unusual in temperament, and now he felt even more astonished after seeing her closely.
She had both an outstanding appearance and distinguished temperament, gentle and graceful, exuding an intellectual beauty.
Moreover, she looked gentle but not fragile.
Though she was young, she stood there upright, neither humble nor pushy, with an elegant demeanor.
Only such a woman was worthy of Benoit in Coast City.
Sanford nodded respectfully to Queenie and then said to Benoit, "Is this Mrs. Clancy? What an outstanding beauty! Mr. Clancy, you are perfect together!"
Benoit liked to hear others praise his wife, and these words smoothed his frowned brows. Benoit held Queenie's hand and introduced concisely, "Yeah, this is Queenie. We got married not long ago."
Queenie also nodded politely to Sanford.
Sanford hurried to say sincerely, "Congratulations, Mr. Clancy! What a good thing to have such a beautiful wife! Wish you two a happy married life. And please allow me to attend your wedding banquet later."
Benoit nodded in response.
Then Sanford looked at Jeremy coldly, saying, "I know what you have been up to lately. You have been busy fawning on Gerald, haven't you?
"Jeremy, do you know who allowed the Taylor family to participate in the construction of Hosea Square? It was Mr. Clancy!
"Now, you have offended Mr. Clancy. I'm afraid no one in Coast City will dare to cooperate with you from now on!
"You could have got acquainted with such a great man, but you lost the chance. You asked for it!"
Jeremy's face turned deathly pale. He hurriedly bowed and leaned over to talk to Benoit, full of remorse.
"Mr. Clancy... Benoit, it was a misunderstanding just now. We are family. I didn't know the man Queenie slept with was you, or I would never say those words! I was just worried about my sister."
Benoit pushed up his glasses on his nose and said with a smile, "By the way, I was the inviter."
Jeremy was stunned and quickly slapped himself. "I said the wrong thing again. I didn't know Queenie married you... It was all my fault."
Before Jeremy had finished speaking, Sanford couldn't bear it anymore and grabbed Jeremy by his collar to push him away.
"Get away! You are not qualified to stand in front of Mr. Clancy! Jeremy, you even didn't know who your sister married. Don't you feel ashamed to be her brother?"
Jeremy knew his marriage with Jenna was ruined, so he didn't hold back and said bluntly, "Mr. Taylor, I am now Mr. Clancy's brother. Pay attention to your tone!"
"Brother?" Sanford sneered. "You don't know Mr. Clancy at all. Mr. Clancy cares only about one's character when making friends and shrugs off people like you."
Queenie respected Benoit even more after hearing Sanford's words.
That was how a person should be!
Before Jeremy could say something else, Benoit interrupted him with a half-smile.
"You casually sacrificed Queenie's happiness, ignoring her willingness before, and now exclaim you are her brother. Do you have any morals?"
Jeremy was speechless.
Benoit didn't bother to argue with Jeremy, so he waved his hand, signaling Queenie to push him to leave and taking a meaningful look at Manley.
Manley nodded immediately after receiving the order.
Sanford was sophisticated and could guess why Manley stayed, so he hurriedly left with his wife and daughter.
Jeremy stared at Manley in confusion. Then, before he could react, Manley carried him to the back stairs like a drowned mouse.
"Creak."
Manley snapped off Jeremy's wrists.
Jeremy yelled out of pain, "Ow! I'm Mr. Clancy's brother..."
While he was speaking, Manley raised his foot with no expression.
Jeremy tumbled down the stairs and fell to the ground, howling hysterically.
He wanted to stand up, but his hands were broken, unable to support his body.
Manley walked over and looked down at Jeremy, writhing on the ground.
"Mr. Clancy asked me to bring you some words. Stay away from Mrs. Clancy from now on, and if you speak disrespectfully to her again, you may no longer speak in your rest life."
Jeremy felt achy all over, finally realizing the horror of the famous Benoit.
"Besides, Mr. Clancy doesn't want Mrs. Clancy to know what happened today. If Mrs. Clancy hears anything about it, you'd better choose a coffin for yourself in advance."
After speaking, Manley stepped on Jeremy's hand indifferently and walked away.
"Ow!" Jeremy felt that his finger bones were about to be trampled to pieces, and a sharp pain shot through his hand.
Hearing the howl, Manley gave Jeremy a cold look.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't see it. I thought it was garbage, so I stepped on it."
Then Manley left directly.
Jeremy even had difficulty standing up by himself now, so he naturally forgot about Gerald, who passed out in the private room and was still bleeding.
Meanwhile, Queenie pushed Benoit into the car of Clancy Villa.
As soon as they got in the car, Queenie remembered that May had asked her to explain the homework to the students' parents, so she quickly sent the message.
[Dear parents, hello. I am Queenie Lorente, the class teacher. Some parents have a problem with the English homework in our class, so I would like to communicate with you.]
[Our students have a good foundation. The homework I assigned was according to their actual situation. Appropriate homework can spare children more time for extra-curricular activities and comprehensive quality development.]
[Please rest assured. Students have basically mastered the learning content in school.]
[As for the request for additional homework, I will also consider it appropriately in the future.]
After the messages were sent out, Glory, the family committee member, responded quickly.
Queenie stared at the unread message on WhatsApp and nervously clicked on the chat box...
