Chapter 105 Why should I support you!

Only then did Queenie remember that she hadn't given Gilda any money this month.

As she sat down and reached for her phone to make a transfer, she suddenly stopped and said, "Mom, you came at the right time. I need to ask you something."

"Don't say anything else, transfer the money! $20,000!" Gilda was infuriated when she saw Queenie put her phone down.

"What? $20,000!" Queenie thought she misheard.

"That's right, $20,000." Gilda remained calm and steadfast.

Queenie thought her mother had gone insane. "Mom, my monthly salary is only $4,000."

"Don’t tell me that. Now that you're with Mr. Clancy, he must be giving you pocket money every month, right? I want $20,000 from you. Is that too much? What? Are you not Mr. Clancy's lover?”

Queenie frowned, not understanding why Gilda suddenly referred to her as Benoit's lover, but she didn't bother to correct her and spoke directly.

"Yes, to be honest, I've been with Mr. Clancy, and he has provided for me. I certainly have the means to give you $20,000 a month, but there's something I want to ask you, mom. Did you give my medical report to Lilith?"

Gilda appeared somewhat embarrassed, but she quickly regained her composure. "I gave it to Pollard's mother. What's the big deal?"

"Why?" Queenie stared at Gilda, feeling a chilling sensation in her heart after seeing Gilda's confident yet unapologetic demeanor.

"Haven't I always listened to you? I've been diligent my whole life. Even after graduating and starting to work, I've tried my best to be a good daughter and filial to you. Why would you treat me like this? Didn't you know what would happen when you gave Lilith my medical report?"

Confronted with Queenie's teary, crimson eyes, Gilda couldn't meet her gaze and turned away uncomfortably. "Well, it's the truth! What good is it to marry and then divorce due to the inability to conceive? Let Monica have the chance to continue the Clancy family's lineage. Isn't that fair?"

"Monica again! I don't understand what exactly did I lose to Monica? I worked so hard since I was young, whereas she lacked talent. She even took your help to get a college diploma through connections! Why? Why did I you never value me even though I worked so hard?"

Getting more agitated, Queenie stood up. "When you designed my life, didn't you consider what would happen if I lost my engagement, if my future mother-in-law rejected me? How would I cope?"

Gilda sneered, "What's so good about Monica? She's much better than you! She received a big order right after she was born. She was born into wealth! You were born unlucky! Nothing in your life goes smoothly, and you bring misfortune to the family. Do you still have the audacity to ask why? And what are you going to do? You're doing well now, aren't you? Being Mr. Clancy's lover in Coast City must feel great. Weren't you bold in front of us before?"

Queenie sadly laughed. "Is it considered good for a daughter to be someone else's lover?"

Ignoring Queenie's question, Gilda pointed at her phone. "You talk so much. Is it because you don't want to give the money?"

"Yes!" Queenie decisively declared, "I won't give money you for household expenses anymore. I'll keep the money for myself, for food. Why should I give it to someone who continuously stabs at my heart?"

"That's what you should do! It's only natural for children to support the household," Gilda slammed her hand on the table.

"Did Monica give you money? Is she not obligated as a child?" Queenie coldly smiled. "What a natural obligation! Let me ask you, have you ever truly treated me like your child? Have you fulfilled your duties as a mother? No, you haven't. So what gives you the right to come and demand that I fulfill my duties as a child?"

Gilda's face twisted in anger, her eyes gleaming with hatred. "You ungrateful brat! Now that you've grown wings, you don't want to take care of your parents anymore? Fine, I would like to see if you'll still act tough in front of me once Mr. Clancy is no longer backing you up!"

Queenie frowned. "What do you mean?"

Gilda glanced at the wall connecting to the adjacent private room and asked, "Did you record everything?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Lilith and Barbara pushed open the door connecting the private rooms and walked out.
