Chapter 31: Danger!

Mr. Clancy's true identity had been exposed. Without warning, and in the blink of an eye, Shipley reacted quickly and ran towards Benoit, kicking him square in the knee and causing Benoit to fall to the ground.

Benoit, who had been caught off guard by Shipley's sudden attack, glared at him with a look that could kill.

"Do you want to die?!" Shipley pointed at him with a firm voice, "Your wife is here, and I have no problem letting her see your cowardly appearance! That kick was just the beginning. If you don't hand over the company and pay back the money, then next time, I'll kick you twice! Benoit, did you think you were still the old Mr. Clancy?!"

Just as Benoit was about to stand up, he heard the word "wife" and immediately slumped to the ground. Just when Benoit thought things couldn't get any worse, Jeremy, who had come carrying a gift to please his brother-in-law, witnessed the scene, in front of him, and burst into laughter.

"I knew it! How could Queenie, the ‘doomed star’, have such good luck to marry Mr. Clancy? It turns out that Mr. Clancy only has his reputation left to fool people." Jeremy pointed at the empty office space outside, shaking his head as he looked at Queenie.

"Look at you, this is exactly the kind of ‘doomed star’ you are. Whoever gets involved with you won't have a good life! Only an idiot, like my ex-father-in-law, would still think that Mr. Clancy of the Clancy family is the same as before!"

"Get lost, Jeremy. Get lost!" Queenie glared at him fiercely.

Jeremy waved the gift in his hand, sneering, "If you ask me to leave, I'll leave. Just like that... you are not worth my gift."

After saying that, Jeremy turned his head and walked away.
As Jeremy exited the elevator downstairs, he was surprised to see Manley, who had just returned from running errands.

Both of the men were taken aback when they saw each other.
Manley was the first to react, and without saying a word, he punched Jeremy.

Jeremy cried out as he lay on the ground, "Why did you hit me?!"

"I don't know!" Manley replied defiantly, "Just knowing that you here, at this specific time, means it can't be for anything good! I'll beat you first and ask questions second!"

With that, Manley walked away and proudly headed upstairs.

Back upstairs, Queenie walked into the office. First, she helped Benoit sit in the wheelchair and then she approached Shipley.

"May I ask how much my husband owes you? We will find a way to repay it."

"No need. I've already informed the accountant that the money has been paid back," said Manley, who had just quickly joined the “act” after returning from his errands.

Shipley pretended to look at his phone and trembled his legs, "Alright then, no problem... I'll just leave now."

Shipley quickly ran out of the room with cold sweat dripping down his forehead.
As soon as he stepped out, he sent a message to Simms, indicating that he shouldn't come anymore. The couple was probably already busy in their own world.

On his way out, he kept wondering if he had kicked Benoit too hard, in the knee, just now.
Did the kick hurt a lot?

With Benoit's anxious personality, would he want to buy a plane ticket and flee the country overnight???

However, after Shipley thought it over, he felt that idea wouldn’t be necessary.
After all, he was just helping Benoit maintain his image, and Benoit was grateful to him!

Meanwhile, in the office, Manley resolved the trouble and quickly cleared a private space for Mr. Clancy and his wife.

Queenie looked at Benoit's legs with concern, "Does it hurt?"

She didn't see how Shipley had kicked Benoit. There was a screen at the entrance that obstructed her view, but she vaguely saw Shipley making a move.

"I'm fine," Benoit coughed lightly.

Queenie quickly poured him a cup of warm water, "Drink some hot water first."

Even after seeing Benoit drink the hot water, Queenie still wasn’t rest assured, "There's no one here now, why don't you take off your pants... I'll see if I need to get you some medicine."

Benoit, feeling somewhat guilty about deceiving her, reached out and held Queenie's hand, speaking gently, "I'm fine. It doesn't hurt. I'll show you when we get home."

A sudden image flashed in Queenie's mind, causing her cheeks to turn red.

Benoit didn't notice anything strange and pushed the wheelchair to the sofa, sitting down while leaning on the coffee table.

After sitting down, he beckoned to Queenie.
"Come here," he said.

Queenie obediently walked over and as soon as she sat down next to Benoit, he tightly hugged her.
"Tell me, what has upset you, hmm?"

With just one sentence, Queenie froze.

How did Benoit know that she had been mistreated outside?

"You ran over here all of a sudden, so what upset you? Tell me, hmm?"

The man's warm voice, like a gentle breeze, echoed in her ears and Queenie could no longer hold back her emotions and started crying.

Without saying a word, she just kept crying.

In the beginning, her cries were quite loud, with a hint of trembling, as if she wanted to release all the grievances in her heart.

Later, her cries became quieter, like a whimpering kitten. She was becoming tired from all the crying and her emotions gradually calmed down.

Benoit listened with discomfort, patiently patting her back. When her emotions stabilized, he asked softly, "Can you tell me know what happened?"

Queenie freed herself from Benoit's embrace, wiped her tears, and forced a smile, saying, "I'm fine now. Crying made me feel much better. It's just some things at school, nothing I can't handle."

As she spoke, Queenie considerately held onto Benoit's hand, saying, "I couldn't help you with your situation. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so impulsive and come running just because I was upset."

"No, you have the privilege to be impulsive because you are my wife, Benoit's wife. You don't need to be so considerate. And when you are upset, you can come to me. I'm genuinely happy about that. Come, tell me. Even if I can't solve it for you, at least I can be your confidant," Benoit reassured her.

Queenie hesitated, but Benoit added, "Queenie, we are husband and wife. I hope you can be honest with me, rather than keeping things from me."

Queenie nodded and briefly explained what had happened. The more Benoit listened, the darker his face became, and the harder he squeezed the armrest of the sofa.

In the next moment, Benoit embraced Queenie again, gently stroking the back of her head, ensuring that she couldn't see the expression of his desire to kill.

"You've been mistreated," he said.

Just those three simple words made Queenie's heart satisfied, and she curved her lips contentedly. She reached behind Benoit and hugged his waist tightly.

At this moment, she treasured the warmth and tenderness in Benoit's embrace.
In reality, she didn't ask for much.

She just needed someone to talk to, at times like this, instead of being constantly blamed..
Since childhood, Queenie’s dysfunctional family had always blamed her for everything and told her she was cursed; leaving her feeling insecure.
After a while, Benoit asked, "Queenie, when you came here, what exactly did you need from me, your husband, to do for you?"

Queenie lightly shook her head, "Just being able to hold me like this is already enough for me."
Benoit slightly pulled Queenie away and earnestly asked, "Are there any other thoughts or ideas you have? What do you plan to do about this issue? Do you need any help from me? Why don't you explain the entire situation and I will see if I can help in any way."

Benoit knew that Queenie was not a canary in a cage. She might feel upset and confused for a moment, but that would only be temporary. After calming down, she would have her ideas.

He couldn't make decisions for Queenie, but he would help her grow while continuing to show her respect.
Of course, if Queenie didn't act aggressively enough to his liking, he would secretly make up for it from behind!

Queenie understood the meaning in Benoit's words and calmed down to think.
"I want to find out what kind of videos the parents of class 1 received."

As soon as she finished speaking, Queenie's phone rang out with a "ding" sound.

Subconsciously, Queenie opened her phone and saw that Macy had just sent her a video and an audio message.

"Queenie, I'm so angry! I asked a few parents that I know, and I managed to get some videos sent to me. Take a look!"

"Just please don't get too angry when you watch them! Just see what happens first, in the videos, and then later we can expose the bastards together!"
