Chapter 110 Pollard's Scheme

Queenie placed her hand in Benoit's palm.

With a tight grip, Benoit pulled her up, bending down to hold her in his arms.

As soon as Queenie settled on Benoit's lap, everything went black. Benoit took off his black coat and enveloped her completely.

Her little face was pressed against his chest.

Listening to the powerful and rhythmic thump of this man's heart, it gave her a sense of both tranquility and warmth. Her nose tingled, and tears began to fall once again. Perhaps this was the last warmth she would feel.

“When mom tells Benoit that I’m unable to have children, he will abandon me, won't he?” she thought to herself.

The wheelchair slowly moved forward, with Manley holding an umbrella over her head. Wherever they went, the bodyguards shouted, "Sister-in-law." "Hello, sister-in-law." "Sister-in-law, it's our fault!" Even General barked a couple of times, almost as if calling her "sister-in-law". The people around them showed great respect with each word they uttered. After they finished apologizing, they started beating those goons.

In her ears, she could hear the desperate pleas for mercy.

"Stop it, Mr. Clancy, please stop!"

"Mr. Clancy, spare our lives!"

"Mr. Clancy, we didn't know it was Queenie!"

"Even if we were given ten lives, we wouldn't dare to do such a thing!"

The thugs cried out in agony, accompanied by sounds of vomiting. But Queenie had no sympathy for them. In fact, she found it quite enjoyable. If Benoit hadn't arrived in time, what would have become of her fate?

These people were simply not worthy of sympathy. The wheelchair came to a stop, and Benoit said, "After beating them, take them to the police station."

"Yes!" Manley responded promptly. Queenie was then taken into the car.

Throughout the journey, Benoit didn't say a word and held Queenie close to him, covered by his coat. Queenie could sense that Benoit was angry, probably because he knew about her infertility. The thought weighed heavily on her heart, and she held onto his waist with great longing.

When they arrived at Bund Bay, Barbara anxiously greeted them. "Queenie, is everything okay?"

Queenie awkwardly emerged from Benoit's coat and said, "I'm fine."

Barbara breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Queenie's clothes were only torn at the sleeve. "You scared me. I was really afraid it would be too late. When I overheard their plan, I immediately wanted to inform Mr. Clancy, but Mary Green had the bodyguards catch me. If I hadn't bitten and hit them on the head, I wouldn't have been able to escape..."

Barbara was about to say something but immediately covered her mouth. Queenie calmly looked at her and said, "Actually, I already had a hunch. Those thugs knew that I'm a teacher."

Barbara lowered her head and murmured, "I'm sorry, Queenie, I..."

Before Barbara could continue, Benoit intervened directly, "You'll stay in a hotel tonight." As soon as he spoke, Manley forcefully took Barbara away.

As the apartment door closed, Benoit glanced at Queenie and said, "I need to talk to you."

"Go take a bath right away." After saying this, he pushed the wheelchair back to the guest room to freshen up.

Queenie stared at the closed door, feeling a vague sense of unease. She suspected that Benoit's talk about starting a new relationship and pursuing her again was likely because he wanted to coax her into having a child.

Considering Benoit's condition, it would be beneficial for him to regain his position if she could quickly give birth to an heir for him.

So now that he knew he couldn't father a child, did he regret marrying her? Queenie's heart sank into the depths of the sea, feeling a chilling coldness.

After taking a bath and tidying herself up, Queenie was about to walk out of the bedroom to be honest with Benoit when she received a text message from Pollard.

"Queenie, I've made up my mind. We'll prepare to get pregnant when we return this time. Let's have a child first and then tell my mom about getting married. She definitely won't object!"

Upon reading the message, Queenie's face turned extremely pale.
