Chapter 108 Severing the Mother-Daughter Relationship!

"Since it's like this, I won't burden you anymore, Ms. Lorente!"

Gilda's face suddenly changed. "What did you say?"

Queenie calmly smiled. "I said that I won't harm you anymore. Since you are so worried about me bringing disaster to you and the whole family, let's sever our ties."

After saying this, Queenie felt a sense of relief in her heart.

"From childhood till now, I always thought that you favored Monica. I have always tried my best to please you, to please all of you. I thought that one day, you would see the good in me and reflect on whether you have been treating me too harshly all these years."

Queenie's voice trembled slightly. "But now that I know the truth, I think our relationship can never be repaired. Let's just leave it here. To be honest, you've repeatedly set me up, hoping for my misfortune."

Queenie looked at Gilda and said, "I'm not a saint either. I can't accept you as a mother without any grudges. And as you just said, with so much resentment in your heart, you can't possibly see me as your daughter. So let's treat each other as strangers."

Gilda, with a shocked look in her eyes, struggled to speak. "You… You cut ties with Jeremy, and now you want to cut ties with me too? You came up with this plan to get rid of your family!"

Queenie picked up her bag and turned around to leave.

Before leaving, she glanced at Gilda and said, "You curse and scheme against me, yet you still want to take my money, Ms. Lorente. Do you think the world works that way?"

After saying that, Queenie swiftly left the private room.

From behind, she could hear Gilda's intermittent curses.

"Queenie, go to hell and get hit by a car!"

"Queenie, I should never have given birth to you, you unlucky wretch!"

"You deserve a lifetime of misfortune! A lifetime of bad luck!"

"I'm telling you, I won't do as you wish!"

"I'll tell Mr. Clancy that you're unable to bear children. Let's see if he still wants you!"

Amidst the stream of curses, Queenie walked out of the restaurant and crouched by the side of the main road. Her heart ached so much that she could barely catch her breath.

Barbara caught up with her and quickly helped her up, saying, "Queenie, are you okay? What's wrong?"

Queenie's face turned pale, and she pushed Barbara away.

Barbara took a few steps back, saying, "Queenie, I'm genuinely worried about you."

"Barbara, I know. Let me be alone for a while. I need some time." Queenie's eyes were already soaking wet, tears stubbornly refusing to fall.

"Barbara, please let me keep some dignity and stay by myself, okay?"

Seeing how distressed Queenie was, Barbara nodded and said, "Okay, Queenie, don't be sad. None of this is your fault. I'll leave now."

Barbara wanted to hail a cab and leave, but she reached into her pocket and realized she had forgotten her phone. She had to turn back.

When Queenie saw Barbara turning around, her tears finally broke free.

The sky was covered in dark clouds, and raindrops started to fall.

People on the street hurriedly ran for cover from the rain, eager to get home. Only Queenie lifted her head and let the rain hit her face.

She walked aimlessly, not knowing which direction to go.

Which home did she have to return to now?

Gilda's curses echoed in her ears, especially that one...

"I'll tell Mr. Clancy that you're unable to bear children!"

If Benoit found out, would she lose her last refuge as well?

Her final trace of warmth... would it disappear?

Was it over?

But she couldn't accept it.

Queenie wandered the streets like a lost soul.

Barbara returned to the restaurant to retrieve her phone and overheard Mary Green's eerie voice from the private room.

"In a situation like this, most people would be devastated and go drink. I have someone following her. As long as she goes to drink, she will be served spiked drinks..."

Lilith asked, "But what if she doesn't drink?"

Knowing Queenie's personality, it's unlikely for her to go to a bar.

"Then I have Plan B waiting for her. My people say she's wandering aimlessly now... If she walks to a secluded place, it's not impossible for a few thugs to drag her into an alley in this weather."
