Chapter 104 Wife

Queenie held the back of his head, gently kissing his chin and murmuring softly.

"Do you not like my passion?" she asked.

"Of course I do," Benoit replied with a pleasant chuckle. "It proves that my therapy is effective."

In a whisper, Queenie asked, "Honey, do you want a child?"

Benoit's body suddenly stiffened, and his enthusiasm waned.

He remembered his reaction that day, clearly showing himself as a man who didn't want children. He quickly smiled and replied, "Of course I do! I want a child with you."

The statement was indeed true.

Whether it was a boy or a girl, he would love to have a child with Queenie.

But the premise was that they needed a few more years for themselves, just the two of them.

Queenie's heart sank as she received his answer.

The issue of having a child weighed heavily on her heart like a huge rock.

Sensing Queenie's uneasiness, Benoit tenderly kissed her earlobe. "Why did you ask all of a sudden? Do you want a child?"

"Yes," Queenie spoke up. "Honey, let's have one!"

She mustered the courage, thinking that maybe, as the doctor said, she could conceive naturally.

She was still young. They should have a child soon!

As the words fell, Queenie pushed aside her shyness and reached for Benoit's pants.

Benoit's expression changed.

Oh no, he didn't take the male contraceptive pill today!

He couldn't do anything about it in this situation.

"Hmm," Benoit grunted, quickly restraining her mischievous hand. "Wife... don't."

"Why?" Queenie looked up, dumbfounded. Her gaze was clear as she asked, "Am I not satisfying you?"

Benoit's entire body was burning with heat.

How could she think she wasn't satisfying him?

This was simply torturing him!

Suppressing his desire, Benoit answered in a muffled voice, "I had alcohol tonight. It's not good for the child if you were to get pregnant."

With those words, Queenie's heart sank a little more.

It seemed that Benoit, like her, also loved children a lot.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be so cautious about the idea of pregnancy.

Neither of them spoke for a while.

But the tension made them uncomfortable.

Benoit adjusted the blanket slightly and sank into the bed. "Wife, how about I help you?"

"No..." Queenie's voice changed when she spoke.

"It's okay, let me help you in a different way, and later you can help me too."

"Shut up!"

...

The next day, Queenie arrived at school.

As soon as she entered the office, she heard a major gossip.

"Did you hear? Ms. Wilson, the sixth-grade teacher in Class 5, is getting a divorce."

Queenie was surprised. "What happened? They were perfectly fine, and now they want a divorce?"

The teacher gossiping beside her deliberately lowered her voice and said, "I heard she can't have children. They've been married for seven years. They tried everything but still couldn't have a child."

The teacher continued, "Her in-laws have been causing trouble, and her husband also wants a divorce. She didn't want the divorce, but her husband found a mistress outside who gave birth to a daughter. He found another mistress afterwards and finally had a son. Now, in order to register his precious son, he wants to divorce Ms. Wilson and legitimize the mistress."

Queenie exclaimed, "Her husband is despicable! If she doesn't divorce him, she won't have a good life following him."

"Who can blame her! But Ms. Wilson is almost forty, unable to have children anymore, and she'll soon be divorced. Who would want her?"

Queenie didn't reply.

Another teacher nearby joined the gossip.

"To be fair, it's not entirely her husband's fault. After all, he has a small factory! If he doesn't find someone else to bear him a son, who will inherit the factory in the future? If you want to blame someone, blame Ms. Wilson for being unable to have children."

Queenie couldn't help but feel sorry for Ms. Wilson. "Is it really such a terrible crime to be unable to have children? It's not like Ms. Wilson chose this for herself."

"Queenie, you just got married, and you’re still in your honeymoon phase with your husband. So you wouldn't understand. A lasting marriage needs a child to sustain it! Love fades within a few years of marriage. What will you rely on in the future? You rely on your child, on family ties!"

Another teacher chimed in, "It's normal for a man to desire offsprings. I've seen so many cases of divorce due to infertility."

Queenie's face turned pale, and she got up to pour hot water, avoiding the gossiping teachers.

But the more she tried not to care, the more their words lingered in her mind.

Thinking about how Benoit also wanted a child, her heart ached instantly.

During lunchtime, Gilda called her, "I'm at the Lai Xi Restaurant near your school, in room 6. Come find me!”

Queenie needed to discuss her medical examination report with Gilda, so she went over.

Just as she entered the private room, Queenie saw her mother, and a strange feeling washed over her. They didn’t seem like family anymore. They felt more like enemies.

Before she could even sit down, Gilda spoke up.

"You ungrateful girl! Now that you're with Mr. Clancy, you don't want to contribute to the household expenses anymore, right?"
